The Mayflower restaurant opened in the same building that used to house a prominent Prohibition-era speakeasy of the same name. The new two-level restaurant and lounge rounds fills out a complex at 1223 Connecticut Avenue NW.
Chef Alex Oradei complements The Mayflower’s decadent decor with an 8-ounce prime strip steak encrusted in gold leaf and topped with shaved truffles. His steakhouse experience also comes across in a voluptuous burger and lamb chops.
Oradei plays up his Mediterranean roots by sending out canapé towers lined with bacon-wrapped dates, small cones of tuna tartare, and other elegant drinking snacks. The menu also features halloumi fries with harissa mayo, grilled octopus, branzino, and langoustine prawns with black rice and cream of saffron.

    My husband and I had a wonderful experience. Our waiter was very attentive and knew the menu. We were there for early dinner so an elegant restaurant with the vibe of being ready to be the late night dance bar. It was fun. The food was delicious and they have a nice wine/drink menu.

    Mayflower Club had a special deal going for DC’s restaurant week that was very good. With a reservation you got one glass of wine, appetizer, entre, and dessert for $40. My wife had Moroccan salmon and I had peri peri chicken for entrees. Both were very well prepared. The house Pinot noir was also a good value. The service was friendly and very efficient. My ambience/noise ratings need to consider we chose to eat outside so we were close to the street. I can’t speak to what it’s like to dine inside.

    Just a bunch of swindling waiters who are money hungry and act like they’re a sales person at apple with all the add ons. The whole place is weird vibes and a tourist trap. Would never go back. 🤮

    The food was excellent! The service was also great! If you sit outside during the summer be sure to have insect repellent…while I love the food the mosquitoes loved me 😫 but I’d definitely go back…standard seating though 🙂

    We took advantage of dinning at the Mayflower Club during Restaurant Week. There was three of us and we shared all the appetizers, entrees, and deserts. Everything we sampled was excellent. Since we ate early, we also took advantage of the complimentary glass of wine. We plan to return.

    Do not go here if you want drinks and desserts. They will move you to a high top in the middle of your drinks because they want entree only dining. Not to mention the restoration wasn’t even 50% full. Very turned off by the experience. Will not go here again. They did it to another party and they left as well.

    Way to over priced can go to any 5 star restaurant and spend no where near what I spent and have my way everything I want with money to tip for the amount my bill came up to and being ate at 5 star restaurants New York, LA, Miami it’s no way my bill came to what it was for what I got it’s not a place competing with any other 5 star spot to have those kind of prices something wasn’t right

    The one thing I will say before I start this review is that the ambiance was nice. Now moving on to everything else. Our server was polite but he was definitely slow in bringing out our food. Appetizers came out with long periods of time in between and some appetizers were forgotten. We had to remind him several times and he would apologize but still come back without them. Just to give you and idea it was not busy at all, there were 6 tables filled in the restaurant. We ordered 5 appetizers to try them and only the charcuterie board was decent. Then the entrees…..My 2 friends ordered salmon which was over cooked and dry as the Sahara. I ordered land chops and they had no flavor and were not seasoned well at all. We spend almost 3 hours in this restaurant and most of the time was waiting for food. I would definitely never go back l and I would not recommend it to others. For the price point of this restaurant service and food were horrible.

    I made reservations weeks before for Saturday 11th. Prior to the due time, I kept trying to contact the restaurant but wasn’t getting any responses. We we’re 4 minutes late due to the uber line of cars buildup on Connecticut Ave. Upon entry the 2 women at the front concierge desk gave me and my party an attitude then lied to our face’s saying the restaurant was at full capacity. If it wasn’t for a bluff I had to call; we would’ve had to turn around and go elsewhere. Luckily one of the ladies sat us downstairs at a high top table, even though I reserved seating for upstairs. During the payment period the host came back multiple times to ask me if I’m paying the entire check on my card, like why would I present my card if I wasn’t sure I had money?! Then after all that, he returns without my card but with a pen and the receipt for me to sign, when I ask for my card he says “oops I forgot I’ll be right back” then runs back to the bar to retrieve my card. Now what if someone would have taken it and how I would have to handle that situation. I made reservations for my sister birthday, but she didn’t even get anything , at least a happy birthday from the staff would have been nice. If this is how The Mayflower Club treats paying customers who go out of their way to RSVP then I wont recommend this place to my friends, family and 10k followers, and that’s a shame because the vibe is Mediterranean Greek and the food was good.

    Everything about Mayflower Club was on point! Service was amazing, and the food was phenomenal. The only drawback was I didn’t have room to taste everything! This is a great spot for all occasions and we will definitely be returning.

    Firstly I let me say I made a reservation for 9:45pm and got to the place and they told me to wait cause my other party wasn't there yet, i told the hostess i could sit inside and wait and she said no , its that no table is available for me at that, it was a bit upsetting i made a reservation and had to sit near the door and wait for bout 15-20 minutes . Anyhow after we were seated our server for the night was very helpful and polite. We dined for winter restaurant week, food and drinks were cook and the ambience was amazing though it was a bit loud but i know they were getting ready for the club section of it. overall was ok jus didnt like the hostesses at the front who constantly forgot who i was also after i was sitting there waiting and calling me wrong names 3 times,

    Delicious entrees for our group, although we needed to request simple condiments (salt, pepper) and no bread was brought to the table until we requested it. Drinks were very pricey, but when in Rome. .. a definite stop for the food!
