The original National Hotel was renovated in 2011, with the one-hundred-year old Victorian shell stripped right down to its bones. Internal workings were finessed with rich textures and colour palettes, delivering a high level of environmentally sustainable design (ESD) through the use of recycled materials.

The pan-Asian menu pays heed to our ‘Little Vietnam’ location, providing expertly crafted pub dishes that have been executed by our head chef Bobby Gogna.

Fantastic place, the food is amazing and I can highly recommend their house-blend spiced rum - have it with ginger beer (not ginger ale) in a tall glass with a lime - perfect!

Entrees and sides were great, lovely venue and good variety and range on menu. Unfortunately both porterhouse steaks on our table were fatty/gristly and inedible - tasted old/thawed, too. Left steaks on the plate and went elsewhere for dessert.

Very poor customer service. We had a table of 10 and they missed orders. One person did not receive their meal until after everyone else had finished. Our entree plates were not cleared at all. Still on table even after completing our main course. One of us actually cleared plates from our table. Glasses were also left sitting on the table and not cleared during the dinner. Very disappointing.

Steak was awful, bar staff not helped when given a 70 dollar bottle of flat champagne and the music was so load your couldn’t even hear the guests at your own table.

Hi two dishes I ordered were not available which was disappointing. Meals were nice but prices for drinks were expensive. Kids running around the beer garden was very annoying and not one of your staff stopped this. From an OH&S point of view, extremely dangerous and screaming kids wasn’t why we went to lunch.

Have been to the National many times previously and the food & drinks were up to their usual tasty high standard . Understandably post covid the menu was not as extensive & as interesting as it was pre covid …. But all good things come to those who wait … we’ll be back

Always feel welcomed & relaxed every time I go. Looove the music, the staff always have time for you & never seem to be too frantic. It’s not too noisy, with different seating options, depending on your company. And I always stay longer than planned. It feel’s like my lounge room!!!!!

Sunday lunch with family. The food was absolutely fantastic, the hotel was very clean. Staff were very good, great selection of drinks and the hotels house blend spiced rum is excellent.

The food was good value and the staff extremely friendly. The only thing that I was disappointed in was the $9 price tag for a can of non alcoholic beer. Especially when I can buy a six pack of same for $14.00

Absolutely fantastic atmosphere, the table order service was so easy. Food was fresh and very tasty, great selection of beer, wine, spirits and cocktails. The in-house spiced rum is exquisite. Great vibe, nice and warm with open fireplace and gas heating for the colder months. Five out of Five Stars.

Really yummy food and priced very reasonably. It was a lovely atmosphere inside for dinner whilst a really buzzy atmosphere outside which was perfect to have a cocktail after dinner. Staff were very friendly and attentive.

Unfortunately after nearly an hour wait staff told us that there had been an error with the online ordering (their end) so had to wait another half hour for our 5 meals. Two bowls of chips offered for the inconvenience. No offer of drinks, free meal etc. just some chips. If you are going to use online table ordering, make I’m sure it works.

The staff were incredibly helpful, polite and attentive. They we're the best part of the experience! The Kaarage Chicken Burger lacked a little flavour and the batter was a bit moist and my colleagues steak was not medium/rare, it was medium and had some chewy bits. The chips were great though and so was the aioli. The espresso martini was great too. The ambience and interiors are really nice and comfortable. We'll definitely be back!
