About this restaurant

The Poet Laureate is Pounbury’s original pub and restaurant, serving some of the finest British fare in the Dorchester area. In Pummery Square, new owners Darren and Gemma have crafted a main menu featuring dishes like wild boar sausage and creamy mash with red wine jus, onion marmalade and greens, as well as dill & beer battered cod fillet with triple-cooked chips, peas and tartare sauce. Talk about refined classics. The atmosphere at The Poet Laureate of Poundbury is always relaxed and welcoming, making it a perfect spot to stay and have a drink once you’re done with your meal. Reservations are essential.
