The Prince is one of Newcastle’s finest pubs with a commanding street-side presence in Merewether. Freshly renovated and restored to reclaim its landmark hotel status, this classic public house is home to a cosy a la carte bistro, an impressive upstairs balcony bar, a private dining room, state of the art sports bar and a cosy public bar. At The Prince you can choose to casually dine in any of bar spaces, in our a la carte bistro, or our private dining room can be hired for groups of 12-16. Head Chef Sean Townsend (previously Muse Kitchen) and his team have created a delicious new menu in collaboration with Executive Chef and part Prince owner Tim Montgomery. The kitchen is open for lunch and dinner daily.

The food was amazing especially the kingfish sashimi. Not cheap but good quality food. Also very accommodating of our daughter's allergy needs.

Overall every thing was very very good. Lower ambiance score was due to noisy kids in the open play room too close to the Bistro.

Definitely the best pub food in Newcastle. Pate wood fired pizzas ,chicken and kimchi rolls ,kingfish sashimi, Great snit souls even better steaks love it all must give it ago

Checked out the newly renovated Prince restaurant for a Thursday night dinner. The kitchen has moved which gives a longer bar and a clearer view through the pub. Really liked the layout and decor. Service was great, food was delicious. If the bistro is full you can still get a smaller menu selection and eat on the other side of the bar. Pizza is great.

Not the venue for live music. We loved the restaurant, but the live music in the pub was way too loud so we just left early
