The food was very mediocre to poor. The food quality has gone down A LOT over the last few years. I would never eat there again, except for the fact that it's a lovely location, they have outdoor dining, and in the winter they have a charming fireplace. But the food was really horrible. The wait staff was very nice.

Food is absolutely terrible (beware of the ceviche and risotto). Drinks are extremely week. Severely needs renovations— poor ambiance/decor. Waitstaff is not knowledgeable when it comes to food allergies, either.

I was happily surprised by the quality of the food at Red House, as well as the attentive service and the cozy outdoor deck. The prices also were reasonable given current inflation as reflected in restaurant menus. This was a Plan B reservation when someone in our party forgot to get a table at Harvest, but I think all of us would go back.

Mother’s Day lunch - service was friendly and efficient. Calamari appetizer with cherry tomatoes and olives was tasty. Ordered linguine and mixed seafood in a white wine sauce. Seafood was fresh and linguine cooked properly, however the dish was quite bland and uninspired. There were no discernible herbs to enhance the flavor or give it any complexity. We added fresh lemon, salt and pepper, but still didn’t help. The server brought us some dried red pepper, but was probably old, and entirely without heat. We took it home to dress it up in our own kitchen. We had key lime pie for dessert which was creamy and zesty-best part of the meal. We rarely go into Cambridge, but sadly will eat elsewhere. The basics were there-it just needs some inspired flavors.

Wonderful oysters and best fish and chips! Our server was very helpful and friendly and made good recommendations. The only drawback was the small size of the pink room. We had to listen throughout dinner to 2 very loud, drunk faculty members.

The best restaurants globally are usually "small" simply because the dinners are not "mass produced" and the servers are not overworked, and they can discuss meals and drinks quite well. The Red House fits that description, and it features excellent fresh and local seafood, and varied beer and wine.

Although the service was adequate the food is less to be desired. The risotto was watery at best with very little to no flavor. There were tons of nats in the restaurant which made it worst. Not a place I would recommend to anyone that enjoys eating food with flying insects.

We were celebrating our anniversary with our daughter. The dining room was quiet but it did not have anything to make it more than a room with tables. The meals came very quickly but the swordfish was so dry, My husband and daughter had a lobster dish not Impress them. My daughter asked for sparkling water. It was on the menu but they didn’t have any. My husband asked for decaf coffee, They didn’t have any! We then asked for the dessert menu. The waiter told us the 3 choices. Mousse, key lime pie, cheesecake. Nothing was ever mentioned about our Anniversary. What is the point of asking?? We tried the key lime pie which was ok. We left VERY disappointed. Nothing about the evening was appealing or special in any way. Before the renovation this was one of my favorite restaurants. We will never return at our family gathering and they asked about our night and we told them to NEVER go to the restaurant. Overall poor!!!

We loved The Red House Restaurant and are already planning our next visit! They seated us immediately, food and drinks brought out quick which we loved since we payed to park.
