Food was lovely but possibly not to everyone 's taste . I really enjoyed tasting the Gin am now converted . My friend had a great day so that's the most important and our server was brilliant.
Tks we will return
I WAS MEETING TWO FRIENDS FOR LONDON FOR LUNCH. WE ORDERED FROM A VERY GOOD SELECTION MENU. THE ITALIAN WAITER BROKE INTO OPERATIC SONG - REALLY IT WAS SO AMAZING. HE WAS AN INCREDIBLE SINGER AND IT WAS LIKE A PRIVATE AUDIENCE. IT WAS HIS LAST DAY WORKING IN THE RESTAURANT AND THIS WAS HIS THANK YOU. HE THEN ASKED A FEMALE WAITRESS TO JOIN HIM SINGING AND ANOTHER FEMALE FRIEND - I CAN NOT TELL YOU HOW INCREDIBLE THE EXPERIENCE WAS. IT WAS SO SPECIAL AND MY TWO FRIENDS FROM LONDON COULDN'T BELIEVE THIS WOULD HAPPEN. FOOD AS ALWAYS WAS LOVELY WITH A GREAT SELECTION. SERVICE VERY ATTENTIVE. HARD TO GET ANYWHERE ELSE IN DUBLIN WITH SUCH A RELAXED ATMOSPHERE. 10/10 FOR THE INCREDIBLE OPERATIC MUSIC - IT MADE OUR DAY
I had wanted to sample the Godiva afternoon tea since first reading about it. The savoury selection was unappealing. The sweet selection was a little too much. Some of the selection was very heavy and filling. Personally, I found Godiva chocolate not one of my favourites. My selection came with a hair. I had cranberry juice in place of the tea/coffee as I don't drink either and was charged extra for it. There's no ambience in the restaurant. It is in a department store but I expected more from BT. The staff were professional, welcoming and friendly.
We went for Afternoon Tea for Mothers Day. Everything was wonderful and there was great attention to detail. We had a thoroughly relaxing afternoon and the food was excellent. The afternoon tea itself was really lovely - only thing I would change is that I would have liked savoury and sweet in equal measures as there was far more sweet than savoury. Will be back.
Food was a little slow to arrive after our initial drinks (~40 mins) but it was worth the wait. The savoury elements of the afternoon tea were far tastier and more interesting than other upmarket places I have been to and the desserts were delicious too. Didn’t have room for the chocolates so we brought them home. Ironically they were the least interesting part of the chocolate afternoon tea! Really enjoyed the experience and service was very pleasant and attentive.
Great for a girlie catch up and to treat yourself.
My friends and I went for afternoon tea at Johnnie Cooke's, the food was a major let down. The sandwiches were minuscule, as were the deserts and scones.
The one positive was the staff, they were extremely attentive.
The restaurant was almost empty but there was no record of our booking. The starters was great, but the main course, which 3 of 4 of us chose, was a charred fresh Tuna salad. The smell of the tuna was overpower, awful. The service was slow and unfocused. In our reservation we said we were pre-theatre and must be out by a certain time. We ended up virtually eating our meal as we went out the door. And bizarrely, the meal was one euro per head more expensive as advertised when we made the booking. The one euro was not particularly the issue but the random change was strange and unexplained.
Went for afternoon tea- they have special teas that are quite delicious- we had a lovely time. I must comment on the hostess- we arrived about 15 min late because we miscalculated the time to get from the airport to hotel to here, and the hostess was wonderfully understanding. We highly recommend.
Great lunch, shared the mussels and clams followed by Crab and beef carpaccio. All good. My only issue would be the cost of wines. Hey guys present us with a good house choice please.
Best of luck.
