The Rising Sun Mill Hill
I have wanted to go for ages and I was not disapointed. The food was great the staff and service was excellant. I can't wait to go back.
Always lovely food and fabulous service great evening.
My mother was 91 very nice dinner and excellent service
Fabulous food. Great service. The Rising Sun never disappoints
delicious food, good wine selection and impeccable service. Always enjoy going to the Rising Sun for a meal.
Lovely food as always. Can't fault a single dish we have had there so far!
Rising Sun - food was excellent - I had pasta and my companion had fish - absolutely delicious. We had lunch on a Saturday afternoon and there was no-one else in the dining room except us, despite being told when we booked that they only had room for 4! It was a cold day but the hearth had not fire so not cosy at all. No atmosphere, except when they put on the Italian donkey song as a joke!
We went here for a family birthday celebration. The food was good Italian with some originality. The service was great and very friendly. It was easy to park and for my family an easy location for us all to get to. I would definitely return.
Was a good evening but exceptionally noisy so did a lot of shouting!!!
Service was brilliant and food was fantastic! Really great night.
5 of us enjoyed a delightful lunch here recently.
Great innovative food.
Excellent service .
Reasonably priced.
Most enjoyable.
An incredible family owned restaurant that excelled at all aspects of dining. A great community hub, even if you don’t live in the community. Friendly customers & staff!! Food was amazing & delicious! Will go again & bring others with us!
Delicious food and wonderful hospitality as always!
Great Sunday roast. Super service. Definitely recommend.
Love this place. Food is always delicious and the staff are always friendly
We both cannot fault the amazing food, lovely venue or efficient attentive staff. A lovely experience. We will be back! Thank you so much for making our evening special. This restaurant just gives that little bit more..
Fantastic food, great hospitality and excellent service
My friend and I revisited this restaurant exactly a year since our last visit(when we had fish which was excellent). We both ate the same this time:
Artisan Bread and butter (excellent),Gazpacho (very good),Steak (expensive and disappointing), deserts (good) and a glass of French Red Malbec (very good).
The steak was a let down. Very few restaurants get steak quite right but at £27.50, we expected better. The cut was not top quality, more fat than I would have expected and I really didn't like the Hollandaise sauce. I felt that if it had been priced at say £17.50, I wouldn't have been so disappointed! My friend had exactly the same opinion as me. We didn't complain because overall the restaurant is still pretty good. Perhaps they should change their menu and cook to their strengths, of which they have plenty.
A well presented restaurant - sat outside lovely summer evening very comfortable excellent and friendly service - helped us in car park too on arrival - expensive so good for a treat!
I’d love to be able to review the food here, but having waited 30 minutes for our order to be taken, we decided to give up and get a take away at home instead. I got the distinct impression that they’d turned the garden into a dining area so they could get more people in, but hadn’t employed enough trained staff to provide a decent service. The setting was very nice but if you’re expecting efficient service I would definitely avoid Saturday nights.
i was nice surprice restaurant was very nice good food
Had my Birthday party lunch .It was great
Fabulous meal as always, the boys were welcoming and the staff lovely. Food delicious and the espresso martinis to die for! Thank you.
We were very impressed and all four of us want to have another meal there.
Don’t be put off by the less-than-perfect website or the deposit to confirm the reservation—the cooking, the service, the lovely atmosphere make for a memorable evening.
A warm Bank Holiday Sunday and good BBQ food under the sun, protected by a large sun shade. Good, helpful service, sensible prices and a leisurely enjoyable meal.
Brilliant as always. Best restaurant in NW London by a country mile. Service with a smile, simple but well executed dishes that hit the spot time and time again. Very fair prices for the quality.
If you have never been go, if you have you'll be back soon anyway.
Gorgeous little pub, amazing staff and perfect food. Will definitely return.
I can only speak for myself here. I was very disappointed with my main course, which was strips of fillet steak on a bed of salad leaves with an oriental sauce. The meat and salad were spoiled by swimming in far too much sauce which left the salad leaves wilting and the beef far too highly seasoned even though I had requested no chilli.
Service was good and the other three in our group all seemed to enjoy their meals. However, as seems to be the norm these days, there were two large groups, one of eight persons and one of six, in our smallish room, which made any conversation almost impossible.
Won’t be rushing back.
Very disappointed with the linguini which was very dry and lacked taste
Amazingly delicious food and the best service. When you sit outside on a summer evening it’s like being on holiday!
Enjoyable lunch in atmospheric pub. Food was very good, service a little slow. Will recommend.
Had a great birthday dinner here last Friday, great little spot, a real hidden gem.
Absolutely love this restaurant! Gorgeous food, lovely atmosphere and wonderful service - they even give out blankets when it gets a little chilly in the evening. Not cheap but you get what you pay for, I could not recommend place highly enough
I have been meaning to go to this pub for a long time. It did not disappoint! I went with my boyfriend, his brother and my Dad. The staff were very accommodating and friendly, the food was superb and the price of the whole meal and wine was very reasonable. We will definitely return.
A great choice for a local restaurant.
Food is great and service excellent.
Small, family run, and local, with excellent food and great service
We love this place. Food and service are excellent and it’s easy to park !
What more is there?!!
We’ve been to the Rising Sun before and the brothers who run the restaurant recognise us. They set up a lovely birthday surprise on arrival for my boyfriend and gave a candle in his dessert. The food (steak and lamb) was beautifully cooked and presented. Every meal I’ve had at the Rising Sun has been beyond expectations in terms of flavour, presentation and portion.
It may seem pricey to some, but I promise it’s worth it. If you can catch some tirimisu, it’s Italian-recipe made and to die for! The blood orange sorbet is also fabulous.
Always a great experience. Welcoming, accommodating and fantastic food
Good meal in pleasant surroundings. Excellent service although menu choices somewhat limited. However, some interesting options nonetheless. Am going back soon!
