   Food was generally fine… there were some fancy gin cocktails on the menu with some additional blends etc priced at €13 but I ordered a normal basic G&T.. the bill arrived and I was charged for one of the cocktail versions.. I complained and was then casually told that the normal G&T was the same price.. So this place charges €13 for a basic G&T. What a rip-off.

   We had a lovely Russian waitress who was very helpful and attentive. Food was excellent and great atmosphere. One slight downmark, my mother has difficulty walking and the steps up to the restaurant are very steep. We also asked another waiter to call us a taxi and he refused so we had to go onto the street and try and find one.

    The service was excellent. Made us feel at home. The ambiance was very inviting. We had the Shepard pie and superfood salad along with white chocolate raspberry cheesecake. Everything was perfect. Thank you Sussex!

    The Sussex is a pleasant restaurant very well located between Dublin City Centre and Ballsbridge. We booked a table at 5pm before attending a concert at the RDS about 30 minutes walk away. The food was of good quality, with a nice vegetarian special option. I wouldn’t describe the menu as adventurous, but a good range of high quality dishes. The shepherds pie was good, as was the sea bass special. We arrived 30 minutes before opening time, but there is a nice pub downstairs with a lively atmosphere so we had a drink before dining. I will definitely visit the Sussex again.

    Above the pub and hubbub - a cozy space for dining. The whipped feta salad starter was especially delicious - need to learn how to whip feta at home! And we enjoyed our mains. Pleasant evening here.

    Shepard pie was tasty, but small portion and seemed mostly potatoes. Would have liked some meat chunks and other vegetables in the pie. Small salad on the side was okay.

    Would love if the menu was expanded a bit, but as a semi-regular visitor, I always go back. It'd be nice to be able to have the option of paying a supplement for a larger portion. Not complaing, but sometimes one's appetite is bigger than usual.

    Lovely spot, food very good. Would have liked maybe a scoop of potato and veg with the shepherds pie as only had a bunch of rocket which I also had with starter. However pie was lovely.

    The food here is absolutely fabulous. So much attention to detail in the ingredients and presentation. My partner had rib eye steak and it really was one of the best he has tasted, so succulent and tender. I had a vegetarian risotto special.. it was so flavoursome. The white chocolate and raspberry cheesecake was absolutely delicious. Our server was really friendly and committed to giving the best service. The restaurant is a little on the noisy side, but that shows the place is in demand and very vibrant. Great spot to meet friends. Thanks everyone ☺️
