The Tulip And The Rose Cafe specializes in all types of cuisine ranging from American classics to exciting Malay and Indian curries, and a strong Turkish influence. We are located in Franklin, but we aim to bring global tastes to the area using local ingredients.

We established The Tulip And The Rose Cafe in 2013 to bring quality food from around the world to Franklin.

From our humble beginnings grilling gyros at the Farmers Market to serving breakfast and lunch every day, catering weddings & hosting dinners for the Franklin Stage Company, The Tulip And The Rose is a place for the whole community.

Conveniently located near Oneonta, Delhi, Sidney and Treadwell, we hope to bring the flavors of Continental Europe, Southeast Asia, India and Turkey to the Catskills.

This was my second great meal at Tulip and the Rose. All the food was delicious as well as perfectly presented. It arrived in a timely manner and we enjoyed the beautiful location.

I know this seems odd. I have had wonderful meals at the Tulip and the Rose before. My gripe is with their closing without notice and not using Open Table to let their reserved diners know. We arrived to find a handwritten sign on the door saying they were closed. No explanation offered. It's an hour drive for me. Thankfully already in Franklin that afternoon, but I'd have been very peeved if I'd driven specially. If the Tulip and the Rose is going use Open Table. they should follow up. The date and time were offered, and the reservation was confirmed not once, but twice.

Food was great. Love the flavors and presentation. I was pleased to find out that they offer everything on the menu for my friend and I to share for a price of $65. That was a great way to taste everything and built anticipation between plates.

The decor is attractive, with many tile patterns. The menu has great variety -- pick the country you want to visit! But there is also some standard American fare. We went for a pre-theatre brunch and were very pleased.

A great food experience with varied different tapas offerings. However it would be good to be able to choose from a regular menu. Always enjoy this restaurant

In Franklin, there aren't many dining options, and so it's great that the town has The Tulip and the Rose. It's an attractive restaurant, with nice tiles. The staff was friendly. The menu changes, and I think we hit it on a night where the menu wasn't as strong as it usually is. The menu was described as tapas, but it wasn't a typical tapas selection. I did like my grilled shrimp on a polenta cake and a caesar salad. But some of my companions chose the chicken and corn waffles, and both the chicken and the corn waffles were very dry. Also, the small plates took a long time to come out, so while I was still hungry after my three shrimp and small salad there wasn't enough time to order another item before getting to the play we were going to see. I'd definitely recommend the restaurant, because it had a creative kitchen--but also because the only other option in town is a pizza shop.

Tulip and the Rose Cafe is a great place. Informal, yet lovely. Amazingly good food with creative cooking well executed and served. We had the Caribbean Tapas meal to share among three of us. Perfect amounts. Each dish was individually delicious. (Although, that opening chicken soup was incredible!) It was a fun per-theater evening for us. Great atmosphere and welcoming staff. Book a reservation.

I love the interior of this restaurant. It feels like being in the mideast, beautiful decorated with painted tiles on every wall.
We had brunch on a Saturday before going to a matinee at Franklin Stage Co. It was delightfully quiet and suited us perfectly as each member of the party had driven about 2 hours to get there. The food is beautifully prepared and delicious.

Unique and tasty dishes. Each week a different cuisine is featured so there’s always something new to try. They are also open to leaving out spicy ingredients if you want it that way. Beautiful decor inside as well as some outside seating. A gem in this area of upstate NY. Leave room for dessert!

Delicious and beautiful! We had the chef’s tasting menu and each dish was incredible, I’m so glad we did it that way so we could try everything. We especially loved the minestrone soup, the arancini stuffed with chicken, and the duck prosciutto with melon. Oh, and the desserts! Baklava, pistachio cake, Turkish coffee—heaven in your mouth! And the price was very, very reasonable. We’ll definitely go back. Worth the 1 hour drive.

We had a great vegan meal and would go back again. They change the menu each week so you need to check the web site for the offering. Super service, no alcoholic beverages and you can't bring in any FYI.

The menu we enjoyed was Cinco de Mayo Mexiacn specialities. The soup was peppery and a perfect introduction to the dinner. Salad was crisp, with fresh ingredients. Skewers of shrimp were perfectly cooked and accompanied by fresh green peppers and onions, together with charred Poblano pepper.

Salsa was made from scratch. Delicious. My companions enjoyed their tacos and enchiladas-both meat and veggie. Lemonade was perfect drink to beat the heat from the peppers. Baklava for dessert was excellent way to finish .

The theme menus, emphasizing the cuisine of a geographical region of the earth, are the way to enjoy their skills.
