The Washerwoman is on Glasnevin Hill (called locally Washerwoman's Hill due to the local story of many washerwomen out on the hill with their mangles etc washing clothes in the Tolka river!). It's been a well-loved and treasured restaurant in the area for years now, and is housed in a charming stone cottage which dates in part from 1700.

There will be a strong range of quirky and every day (!) wines befitting of a neighbourhood restaurant, which makes for a special occasion, or a casual dining experience. Given the locale and the fact that we hope to welcome families, there are exciting, healthy and accessible foods for kids (plus some little quirks to keep them interested, engaged and most importantly, occupied!), a host of diner classics, and a particularly extensive steak selection. We are working with some of our favourite craft butchers to create our own aging room and source some amazing salt-aged meats.

The food, the wine and cocktails are amazing but it is the staff who make this place my favourite in Dublin.

The food was nice but not as tasty as I was expecting and I was surprised at how pricey this restaurant is, for what you get. It was OK but I would be slow to return. There are better, cheaper options elsewhere. I thought a 10% ‘service charge’ added to our bill was a bit of a cheek.

The food was delicious. Service fantastic, the staff couldn't do enough for us, but weren't on top of us either. The value for money is fantastic, portion sizes are generous. Area is quiet and works well for outdoor dining and the decor gives a Mediterranean garden vibe, which is relaxing and ambient. Couldn't fault it. Will definitely be back

Food and service was fantastic. I booked for 3pm but they don't really do a dinner menu. Its more of a brunch/lunch menu. Having said that I had the eggs benedict and it was one of the best meals Ive ever had in a restaurant .

Lovely outdoor setting created by the team at this restaurant. We were unlucky enough to choose a rainy night for our date but this did not impact our experience at all. The awning had us well covered. Food was fab as always - hats off to the chef. This is our go-to choice for a date, when ever we can, as it’s close to home & we can let the babysitter go at a reasonable time. The service is the cream on top … lovely staff who are so easy to chat to and who know their food & wine well. We’ll be back for sure.

We had such a lovely experience in our first dinner out since last summer. Food was great. My daughter didn't like her polenta (not because of the quality but because she thought she would go for the blue cheese but it wasn't for her) and they insisted on not charging us for that which was not necessary but impressive customer service. We'll definitely be back.

Have done a fab job accommodating outdoor dining especially out front, totally shielded from passing traffic. Not many tables so book early. The 1hr 45 mins is ample time for a lovely unrushed 2 or 3 course meal. Book it!

If I said this was the best meal out I’ve had out in ages , although that would be very true, it would also be disingenuous as I haven’t been in a restaurant in 18 months!
7 of us dined outdoors in the damp and rain, and we were neither cold nor wet thanks to the heater and canopy provided.
What a fantastic experience we all had, special mention for the chicken wings (fabulous), sticky toffee pudding (yummy) and the margaritas (perfect blend).
Thank you.

I really like brunch at the Washerwoman, the team there are really friendly and good fun. The food is really good quality and the coffee is great. You pay a little bit more than you would ordinarily expect but on the whole, with the quality of the ingredients, it is worth it. We'd have been back a few times and would definitely go back again which I suppose is a good indicator.

Consistently excellent! Lovely neighbour restaurant with superb food and service. They’ve also modified their restaurant appropriately to adhere to Covid restrictions and we felt very safe.
The only bad thing I can ever say about the washerwomans is that the portions are very healthy - so come hungry!!
