There will be a strong range of quirky and every day (!) wines befitting of a neighbourhood restaurant, which makes for a special occasion, or a casual dining experience. Given the locale and the fact that we hope to welcome families, there are exciting, healthy and accessible foods for kids (plus some little quirks to keep them interested, engaged and most importantly, occupied!), a host of diner classics, and a particularly extensive steak selection. We are working with some of our favourite craft butchers to create our own aging room and source some amazing salt-aged meats.
Great for the area lovely resturaunt . simple home cooking
Washerwoman is one of my faves and still is , but when I ate here last week my food wasnt up to par as it usually is, I always get wings , and this time they let me down. A tad soggy and not much buffalo sauce. Everyone else in my group were extremely happy with their food so I’m putting mine down to a one off. But the thing that really ruined it was the price of a kids meal. €10 for a measly burger and chips, and €5 for literally two tiny scoops of ice cream. Total rip off. I will be back just without my children.
Lovely cosy restaurant with a snug but modern feel. Delicious food. Go for the ceaser salad with anchovies and a glass of cool rose! Very helpful and attentive staff which is a big incentive.
We were a table of 7 on Saturday night and had a very enjoyable experience. We got a warm welcome, and a beautiful meal that everyone was happy with. It was our first time and we will definitely be back
Visited Washerwomans to celebrate wedding anniversary. Very dissapointed with dinner menus which had very limited choice. Food served up was poor and almost unedable. Lamb stake was full of fat and chips were over cooked and were more like crisps than chips. Also vastly overpriced for the food we were served up. Will definitely not be dining there again
Lovely food, which we got to enjoy in the sun outside in their secret garden.
Very nice food lovely staff, a bit pricey for a suburban restaurant.
Very nice meal in the Washerwomans, well worth a visit.
I could not recommend the Washerwoman enough. Great food, lovely staff and super atmosphere.
Very nice place with great staff and high quality food. Went there with my wife. The only thing that we didn't like was that our stakes that we ordered well done and medium well, were both closer to medium.
The food was great but service was very poor. The waitress was not friendly or helpful at all. Ok, we were there just once (holidays) but still. And then she just charged us 12,5% service... didn't make a fuss about it but I surtainly had no good feeling afterwards.
The brunch portion sizes are large so best to go hungry -
This was the first time I sat at a table upstairs, which was lovely and quieter than downstairs. The food was excellent (especially the relish on the veggie burger!) and the staff were very kind to us.
Amazing resturant. Food was best we had in Dublin. Staff really took care of you and the place itself is really quaint and rustic. Make sure you try the smoked mackerel and also the beetroot hummus. The chief knows how to prepare greens, some of the best I've ever had.
Great food and friendly staff
Would definitely return.
I have been to this restaurant many times as i live locally and it is always first class. I have brought many friends to the restaurant over the years.
Lovely atmosphere. Good service. Interesting food. An easy walk from DCU for visitors to Dublin.
Enjoyed meal but not fabulous. Very noisy with children. Wine could be a little cheaper.
Lovely food, great staff, highly recommended. Very fresh ingredients.
Delightful small local restaurant, small selection of foods but nicely varied and interesting presentations - and delicious! thank you - will be back!
Gorgeous little restaurant close to The Helix. Perfect for pretheatre dinner. They have a really interesting menu & the food is gorgeous. We will definitely return.
Lovely place with very nice food, and great service.
We had an 11am brunch booking for Sunday, we arrived on time but the door was closed. We waited outside until 11.10am and then I phoned to have the door opened so we could go in 😕
Super food and a great brunch aside from the late start 😊
Great as always
The food was excellent and presented beautifully. I was part of a group of five, and we were offered the group menu with minimal fuss. The service was great and I really love the decor of the restaurant. I will certainly be returning again.
We were a table of 7 enjoyed the food, servers were really nice and friendly. I was just perplexed with the service charge I do understand that there is a service charge but I found it quite steep it should be discretionary as the restaurant wasn't that busy however we will return.
Wouldn’t go back anytime soon. Food was very average and expected more from this restaurant. Was disappointed leaving and to make it worse had to pay 22€ in tax as the table was for 5 people which you have to pay 12.5% tax. I would not have left this in tips with the quality of food for the price paid. Beer range not great either.
Food is always excellent. Lovely staff and great atmosphere. I've never had a less than great night here.
Lovely local restaurant with a great value early bird menu.
Lovely atmosphere. Very relaxed and with great food. Will be back
Overpriced for a local restaurant. Glass of wine at €7.50 is ridiculous. This is my third visit and nothing has changed for the better. Overcooked salmon with bones, slow service, no bread offered.
Full house so some people are happy bit not us!
Visited for a late lunch on a Tuesday so didn't expect it to be busy and it wasn't but there was a still a good feel to the place as we arrived. We had a great waitress friendly, helpful but not in your face. The menu offered great variety and we were not disappointed with our choices. Two clear plates. Will be VERY happy to return.
The food was amazing, delicious and magical. Only magic could result in a soft egg inside crispy light tempura batter. Go to this restaurant if you want to be wowed.
Fantastic food with great service, will definitely return.
The Washerwoman was one of only a few well reviewed restaurants near our hotel. They were kind enough to seat us early as the botanical gardens had closed and it was a little chilly out. The restaurant seemed a little more upscale based on the size and decor, making me feel a little out of place with my baby and dress, however the staff were welcoming, and worked well as a team. As more tables filled I was surprised to see a lot of families with young children. The entrees were 20-25, and the food was outstanding. I had a pea and bacon soup which was smooth and nicely spiced. The burger was huge and well-prepared. Some other members of my party had the chicken with hash. I also enjoyed the cocktails, particularly the dark passion which was lightly fruity but not too sweet, and old fashioned which had a slightly larger dash of bitters than I was used to, but didn't overpower the drink. Good food, nice bar, great staff, head over after your trip to the gardens and you won't be disappointed.
Washerwoman is a must visit. Always good food and service. Great value for money and brunch is amazing.
Found the staff very friendly and polite, service was excellent and great value there chicken wings were to die for would highly recommend .
Food was extremely overpriced but I could get over that if it was nice. The pork fillet was tough and just came with mash and a rhubarb sauce , scandoulas at 25 euro. Nachos were poor as were the chicken wings and the rhubarb crumble was like something a child would make . The waiting staff are very friendly and attentive but it is not a restaurant I would ever go back to .
Relaxed environment with attentive service and delicious food.
Service was excellent. Food was only ok. I expected better as I have heard such great reviews.
