The Washerwoman, located on Glasnevin Hill (called locally Washerwoman's Hill due to the local story of washerwomen out on the hill with their mangles washing clothes in the Tolka river!)has been a well-loved and treasured restaurant in the area for years now, and is housed in a charming stone cottage which dates in part from 1700.

    Given the locale and the fact that we hope to welcome families, there are exciting, healthy and accessible foods for kids, a host of diner classics, and a particularly extensive steak selection. We are working with some of our favourite craft butchers to create our own aging room and source some amazing salt-aged meats.

    To be honest wasn't very impressed. It was a quiet afternoon but the food took a long time. The cauliflower curry was 23 Euro, fairly bland and one side of the dish was cold. After waiting so long I just ate it. It's a popular local spot, but aware of the prices we went as a treat. Very small wings, little meat on most. Overall just OK, but we had very little food, one drink each and it cost more than 90 euro. I know running costs are high, but a 23 euro cauliflower curry, when a beef burger with all the trimmings is 19.50 seems a bit much.

    This was our second time here. Really consistent level of high service. Nice atmosphere. Great music in the background but at the right low volume level. Food again was great too. We travelled over from Stepaside, so it’s a good distance for us, but worth it.

    Lovely Sunday brunch at the Washer Woman Glasnevin. I would highly recommend this restaurant. There is a great vibe in this cosy place, the food is delicious and the staff are friendly, efficient and give a great service. We plan on returning for dinner very soon. Margaret

    Excellent meal with 3 friends before attending The Garden of Shadows at the Botanic Gardens. Restaurant was very busy but service was first class and friendly. We had 3 different main courses and we all equally enjoyed our meal. I would definitely recommend The Washerwoman for a lovely night out.

    We had fantastic service. On request we were moved to a beautiful outdoor table (when I booked it was raining cats and digs so couldn't imagine eating outside) as soon as one became available. The menu is short and clear and has something for most. We were there for lunch and it was perfect. My second visit and I will return.

    The choice was limited for a Sunday brunch. Food was tasty. The noodle dish was nice but no vegetables in sight it was basically a plate of noodles nicely flavoured. The staff were pleasant and efficient and there is a nice ambiance, slightly rustic feel to the place. Quite expensive for a brunch.

    First time eating here since my coeliac diagnosis, staff were incredibly helpful and most of the menu was adaptable. Really delish food, great wine recommendation and fab cocktails. We say upstairs, it was quite which we enjoyed. Definitely would recommend.

    Great little spot. Food was amazing, they have a bit of everything so you’re sure to find something you like. Only drawback is it is a little pricey but you get excellent food, service and ambience for the price.

    Very enjoyable meal with my wife and daughter, particularly recommend the mussels as a starter, and our mains (steak, hake and aubergine) were all very good indeed. Attentive service without being intrusive. And so many options where to sit: upstairs, downstairs, inside or out!
