   If you are a big group of people wanting to be surrounded by lots of other people and can't find anywhere big enough then it is perfect. But if you are looking for a place to eat with ambiance, great choices and service then don't come here. Most of the vendors has sold out of food by the time we got there, at 6pm, so we didn't have much choice at all and what was left was either expensive and/or limited. There were not enough bar tenders to cope with the amount of people, meaning we were waiting for 20 minutes for a drink. We didn't have a choice to leave as we were on a tight schedule so we had to suck it up. Luckily the food was nice, although very small portions for the price.

   Tried to order a drink and the QR code was not following through, asked for assistance and they seemed unsure. Very loud and had kindly requested a table outside only to be told that wouldn’t be possible. Won’t be back in a hurry, unfortunately.

   Worst experience I’ve had at this venue. I had asked for an outdoor table on my reservation, however I turned up on a hot summers day to be told our reservation was inside. Full of children and nowhere to sit outside, it should be made clear when children’s events are taking place - We nearly left. It took over 30mins for us to find a seat and when we did surrounded by screaming kids. Over capacitated and ridiculously long queues for drinks. Most staff have a really blasé attitude which prolong queues. Drinks are overpriced - £9 for a frozen margarita with the plastic cup filled only 3/4. Has really put me off coming back.

   - Table ordering food was AWFUL (there were periods of time when we weren't actually allowed to order food online)! It seemed like there were'nt enough staff to cater for the amount of customers. - Food was ridiculously expensive (£4.50 for a slice of piza)! - The usual chilled, adult, cafe-del-mar atmosphere was ruined. There were kids EVERYWHERE, running around, chaotic. It felt more like a kids playground or refugee camp. Standards on a few different levels have noticably dropped since my last visit and every person in my group agreed and were very disappointed. Sadly, our experience was so negative that we've agreed never to return to Freight Island.

   Booked a table, was directed to a table where people were already sat. We were left to stand awkwardly next to them while they vacated, which took 5+ minutes. Having never been before had no clue about how to order anything, figured it out, left the table and came back to someone else sat at it. Didn’t seem to be any kind of system in place for the reservation (no staff manning the area) The food was gorgeous and the cocktails were lush though. If we were to go again, either wouldn’t book or would go in a larger group.

    It was a little frustrating on arrival to be told our table was inside when I had selected outside on the booking. It gave you the option to click inside or outside but was told by the host that this isn’t an option. I 100% clicked outside so I don’t know if they changed the booking system this week but I felt like I was being made out to be making it up. Luckily another host was able to sort us a table but I did hear quite a few others making the same complaint. Obviously when the weather is lush people are going to want to sit outside so I think it is a reassuring feature to be able to have preference as we booked freight island due to yesterdays forecast. Over all the day was class but the fact they removed that feature and I was nearly stuck with an inside table was a bit rubbish. Please bring the feature back as if I book again it would be in hopes for outside table as you don’t really ever need to book for inside.

    Amazing venue. Ordered food from different place but were a bit similar and heavily fried. Annoying part was drinks as went to order wine and your can’t order other drink so lots of queuing for a round with friends.

    It’s our first time since the refurb and it’s still just as good and we very much loved the sports bar addition! The food was good and so was the service and a big shout out to the operations manager Daniel. I’m so glad to see the place back open again and with better vendors. Completely worth the money and a great atmosphere.

    Pretty disappointed. I’ve been before and food was brought to your table, now it isn’t. Pretty much a free for all. The app didn’t even work in the end so you had to go and order your food aswel. It’s ok if you know what you are getting but it to have changed for the worse isn’t ideal. Nice outside area though

    Really disappointed to see venue has stopped using QR code to order food to the table from vendors. This was a real USP sadly lost. It is now nothing more than a food court in a warehouse. That said, the outside area has a great atmosphere and bar service was great.

    Got food from the Greek gyros place, extremely average I’d say. Made the mistake of ordering a hot dog from smoked charcoal (£12…get a grip). The hot dog was awful and tasted like blue mold. They need to bring in table delivery service, kind of awkward to find where the places are to pick your food up. I didn’t enjoy it.

    We booked freight island for yesterday when we arrived we was given a table right in the middle of the food court. We asked to be moved which they kindly did. However when we went to the bar we was told we couldn't be served as we didn't have a euro vision wrist band. Not a problem we went to the bar upstairs. Waited for quite a while. Although it weren't busy the bar tenders took quite a while making the drinks. When it was my turn to be served I asked for a malibu, they didn't have, asked for peach schnapps, they didn't have. OK so I'll have a beer. Sorry you can't have one of those we don't have any glasses! Not good! We left shortly after this. Disappointing

    Great concept but recent changes mean that diners now have to collect their own food from vendors, which depending where you’re seated can mean a lot of back and forth, and tricky when someone has to stay at the table. Also discourages you from buying things from multiple places. When we went at 6pm many vendors were out of key items and noise levels were what you would expect at 9pm. Disappointing as always had such a great experience here!

    The ordering system is rubbish and slow. You should be able to order from multiple venders at once. No one explained this. Made the whole experience was quite stressful in the end and we ended up moving on elsewhere very quickly.

    It’s the first time we have been since Freight Island has reopened. We had a table that felt out of the way and we felt we missed out because of this. We had been planning on getting a pizza but Voodoo Rays were shutting up at 6pm and were only serving slices. We got burgers instead and they were good but we have had better. There was a good selection of beers at Freight tap and we all enjoyed the drinks we had. Would we rush to return - probably not, it has lost its spark.

    Freight Island is a nice venue, but the food is very hit and miss. The tikka fries were cold and we ordered a burger and fries also,where we waited 20 mins. Only the burger was raw and the chips freezing. I am losing interest in returning, especially with more multi- food establishments opening throughout the city. It’s not exactly cheap either, so I expect more than we received. A refund was issued promptly for the burger but we would have preferred the food to be right in the first instance.

    Awful. No you can no longer order food/drinks to the table. Bar service only and food had to be collected. Food was disgusting (we had pizza and it was £5 for a slice of thin dry dough with barely any topping). It was fairly quiet and they messed up our order. Ordered a chicken gyros it was just full of chips barely any chicken. Total rip off. The lyric was SO LOUD we were shouting at each other. Used to be a great place now we won’t ever return.

    There was no table service. So we had to queue for a drink which took half a hour then 45mins to queue for food. So it's pointless booking a table to be sat at alone whilst the other person is queueing for everything. Very disappointed.

    Tried to amend the booking- no response at all after about 30 attempts, 2 emails and 1 Facebook message. Family day event is basically some paper and scissors in the car corner of the place. Could do this at home.

    Food locations that we went for, one was not open and re-locating and the other closed. Had 3 Pizza slices from Vodoo Ray's, one of which they had not got the ingredients. The one we did have were overcooked and awful. Wanted a bottle of wine from one stall and the payment machine was not working, boss came over with a new cable and disappeared. Still did not work, so left without wine. Had 2 large glasses of wine at Jane Eyre. Unfortunately, they only have a choice of 2 white wines. Worse still they only had one of them in stock! Could not pay on the first machine, so had to go to the other machine. Could not put the wine we did have in the machine, but could put the more expensive wine in. So they had to put a medium glass of the wine that they did not have in stock so that we could pay.

    The entertainment was very good but the food and drinks were very expensive. I ordered a strawberry desert from the cheesecake stand and received 5 tiny strawberries on a skewer with a drizzle of salted caramel. This cost me £5. The money is taken before the food is served to you otherwise I would have refused to take it and refused to pay for it.

    Booked this months ago for staff summer outing. Got "warned" on arrival NOT to sit at any other tables until our booking was free at 6pm. (loads of free tables all over the place) The staff were ok, but a bit disorganised. When the food came, some of it was good, some was just so so. The big pizza was cold (even though it only came from about 20 feet away!) big queues for bars and lots of staff not actually serving. Unless they sort out the food, staff welcome and more flexibility on seating I think that in time, people will source out other places to go in Manchester. Don't know if the owners were too ambitious and don't really have the systems in place to make it a great night. Plus the sound / acoustics are awful and you can only hear the extractor fans..and the app (browser) good eats, is awful. It doesn't store any card details and clearly the cheapest one available. Having said all that, it's still a good night out with atmostphere. It would be a huge shame if in a couple of years time it's dropped off the horizon

    Fabulous atmosphere, friendly staff, great food. Loved the mix of ages, babies, families, couples, groups all having fun. My only advice is turn the music volume down slightly, we sat outside and moved twice as the music was too loud when sitting directly by Amy speakers. Great place, will definitely return.

    Food was cold when arrived, not great service having to queue for drinks. (10 deep at each bar) Table service was much better - why switch?? Most staff looked miserable and when asking questions about bookable seats (as wanting to move) asking where the toilets were - no one knew !! Stage area is little out of it, no sun , no smoking, mission to get to the bar, we actually moved and sat with the big cushions and gave up our table.

    We had a voucher from Confidentials which gave us an extra £50 which I’m glad about seeing it was £9 for a pre made cocktail and £5 for a pizza slice. I wouldn’t go again unless I had a voucher. The food was okay at best, atmosphere was good however.
