Step out of the bustling cobblestone streets of Temple Bar and down the stairs to Tomahawk Steakhouse where beautiful windows allow in light from street level. This is an intimate and unique dining setting – and our steaks are the star of the show.
We have spent months researching where to source the best steaks from around the world and the results of that exploration is there is no better beef than Irish and we are proud to say that we serve only the market-best at Tomahawk.
Tomahawk has 80 delightful seats for you and your party to choose from. We have comfy corners matched with matte timber tables adorned with leather seats, where diners can enjoy their delicious meals under the ambient street lighting that pours in from above. Or you can choose to perch comfortably along the gorgeous timber dining bar set around our open kitchen and watch the theatre of a professional kitchen at work in front of you.

Tomahawk Ratings and Reviews
Overall a nice experience, the steaks are lovely, cooked to perfection, the parmesan chips are a lovely side. The only downside was the table we were seated at was like being in a corridor, it was stuck in the middle of the floor with people / staff continually passing by. We did request to be moved when a table became free, but was told it was reserved. We ended up sitting at the counter. I would go back, and make sure to request a better table .
The waitress immediately informed us that due to a large number of meat being ordered by other clients, we might expect delays in our order and therefore she suggested to have an appetiser before. It sounded pretty awkward since we just went to that place for meat and we did not want any appetiser...
Also one of the meat order was wrong and again the waitress suggested it was our fault because we pointed that steak with our finger (on the menu). However the meat quality is quite good although I would not feel that the price was justified for the quality (30€) for a sirloin. The side dishes were ok except the onion rings which were drenched with oil. Wine ok but expensive. Overall I would not come back, especially for the bad attitude of the waitress
Outstanding meat!!! I am a true meat lover and I can tell that they have a top notch quality there! I could only appreciate when the waitress came to the table with a display of all the meat pieces. It really adds something to the experience.
I was first disappointed not to have a proper steak knife but I soon realised that it was absolutely unnecessary: the meat was soft as butter! It was cooked to perfection and the side were all very tasty (maybe a bit fat but that's all).
Did not need an appetizer, did not need a dessert!
Next time I'll try that piece for 2, it looked very nice!
Oh, and the wine selection is quite good (this comes from a French man) with nice South American options and overall fair prices.
One last comment: they turned this basement in a really cosy and discreet place, which is enjoyable on an autumn evening.
We were extremely impressed with our meal at Tomahawk. I would HIGHLY recommend this restaurant. The quality of meat was outstanding. The food is simply fantastic and extremely tasty. If you want top quality food, friendly attentive waiting staff, warm service and an outstanding meal then you must try Tomahawk. It's one of the best meals I have had in Dublin by far. I would highly recommend this venue.
Great new restaurant to add to the list. In the heart of Temple Bar but doesn't feel touristy. It was a delicious meal. The Lobster Roll had a little too much sauce and the meat was lost. Steak was delicious and parmesan fries were really good too. Recommended for date night.
We had a lovely dinner here for my boyfriends birthday! The restaurant is gorgeous, the food was delicious and very good value and the staff were super friendly. We went on a Monday night which was very quiet so would love to go back on a busier night when there might be a bit more ambience.
Great steak, great scallops (best I have had ever) and an amazing asparagus that I would really recommend. Quite new restaurant, but great helpful staff that is just getting going. If you have a chance, dress to impress and head on over. You will be pleased.
Food was great but service was poor the waitress forgot about us 3 times we ended up cancelling desert 25 minutes waiting even when showing us Steaks on Tray didn’t get into detail of different cuts what was on offer. We had two different menus on 1st tomahawk steak was €62 and on 2nd €80 asked waitress and it took her 10 minuets to find out what real price was on website it’s €62 not €80
My husband had read about this restaurant in the paper, booked a table for 5pm on a Sunday so restaurant was understandably quiet and the waiter explained they had only been open about 10 days. The food was super, we had lobster rolls to start, the last time we had ones as good was on a cruise ship in the Caribbean!! Shared the signature Tomahawk steak with two potato sides, an absolute treat for steak lovers and we were barely able to share a dessert after! With a couple of drinks it was probably a bit more expensive than we would normally pay for a casual night out but would definitely go again!
Went there on Saturday night with family. Our waiter (can’t remember his name!)was fantastically helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. I shared the Tomohawk with another person and my husband had the 8oz fillet. It was all delicious. Lots of food, great wine list. Definitely a gem and I will be back!
We were very happy with the food and service at Tomahawk last Friday 29th September. Very stylish venue in Temple Bar. A nice touch, that so many restaurants get wrong is the 'water question'. Instead of having to ask for a jug of water and then having to answer the still/sparkling/tap question we were automatically given two glasses which were then topped up. Also we got some beautiful sourdough bread and butter to accompany our non-soup starter, another nice touch. Our waitress brought us over a complementary asparagus side that someone else had ordered by mistake....its the little touches that matter. Only minor complaint would be that my friend was sitting right by the door with a draught which made the experience less comfortable for him. I would definitely go back.
From start to finish our night at Tomahawk was amazing. The waitress had excellent knowledge of the menu and pointed us in the right direction if we were unsure of what to get. The steaks were cooked perfectly and a nice sized portion of parmesan fries too .
I would highly recommend it to friends and family.
