   I've been to Uchi a hand full of times over the past 10 years plus and every time delivers an absolute 10/10 experience. The flavor combinations, textures, freshness, service, ambiance, everything is always top notch and incredibly impressive. Easily my favorite Japanese restaurant in the country.

   Made this res for my parents who loved everything and said the service was amazing. A liquor license would be nice though :) since they have one in Miami, they were expecting Austin to be the same.

   Used to love this restaurant - really only worth its price if you go at happy hour (4-6pm). Paid $600+ for 3 people, be prepared to overspend. Don’t get me wrong food was great, service was amazing. To someone who loves sushi (and high end sushi) - you can get away with VERY similar at a sushi place like neighborhood and other local restaurant for somewhere in the $250 range.

   Absolutely incredible. My husband and I dined at Uchi for our wedding anniversary and it was amazing from start to finish. We did the 6 course tasting and every dish blew us away. Our server, Jenny, was attentive and so kind. She gifted us the wagyu carpaccio and my mouth is still watering over it. I cannot wait to dine in again!

   We really enjoyed the bar service while we waited on our seat. Bartender was very nice and knowledgeable. We’ve been to Uchiko but this was our first time at Uchi. We decided to let the server choose a few small bites and plates for us to try. He put together 5-6 items for us to try and checked in regularly to ensure we were enjoying his selections. He was very knowledgeable and provided a great experience.

    Uchi is no doubt an outstanding and high quality food. It is high-end, high quality product. This is not your daily sushi venue. The service is great, however, I would argue there are too many staff. Weird I know, but several staff were standing around and bunching up at times causing a distraction. And don't get me wrong, the place was full. The space itself is fine, but not special. The patio area is very nice, but next to South Lamar, so a little loud and you are hearing cars, but it is not too big of a deal.

    After hearing so much about Uchi me and my friend were highly disappointed. After paying almost $400 including tip for 2 people, all of our nigiri came out warm and mushy. We got a $25 gift card as a way of reimbursement, but I feel like it has made me sick to my stomach for 2 days now. Will not be going back.

    Great food, courteous staff. We did the omakase, next time I think I’d order a la carte. Prices are a little high but not unheard of for a fine dining experience.

    Uchi is bar none the best sushi rest in Austin. In our home we have a before Uchi and after Uchi (BU / AU). We love bringing family and friends for their first time and watching their expressions on their first bite. The ambiance and the impeccable way that it is run is like watching actors in a play. They have ruined us to all other sushi. Their happy hours are great! We go to Uchi or uchiko as often as we can and can’t wait for Uchiba to open. The deserts are ridiculously good and the linkup nave w short rib is like a warm hug!!! If you haven’t tried it you must!

    The experience was great! I was a little disappointed when our waiter didn’t offer recommendations to us or seem interested in making sure we had a special experience like the last time when I sat at the sushi bar. I understand having a sushi chef is different but I would’ve liked him to maybe even just guide us in the right direction seeing as we really didn’t know where to start with such a great extensive menu. The noise level of the restaurant was a little loud but I know that just comes with having a busy business! Otherwise our experience was lovely and the food was absolutely amazing (per usual) just wish I could’ve tried new things I didn’t know about for the money I spent.

    One of the best sushi dining experiences ever. The cucumber Saki cocktails are fantastic! We did the Chef’s Tasting and it was incredible. Highly recommend. Everything was beautifully presented, fresh, and delicious.

    Overall it was good but not very good and not great. Sushi roll lacked flavor even with sauce. Brussels sprouts were too fried and drenched. Rice pot was very salty. Yellowtail was great. Waitress was very good. I expected better food. Seasoning lacked finesse.

    Absolutely spectacular dining experience. We were visiting from NYC and this is easily in my top 3 meals of all time. Thanks Cat (Kat?) our server for going above and beyond and taking us through our meal!

    This was our anniversary dinner, and we wouldn’t go anywhere else. Uchi is hands down one of our favorite restaurants in Austin. We eat a lot of sushi around the world, and this is some of the best that we have ever had. Wonderful service and ambience as well. Make reservations, as they are always packed. Uchi team, especially Rachel (who was amazing!), we look forward to seeing you at your new location in West Hollywood in the future.

    Our first time at Uchi,Austin - was Incredible! A friend recommended it to us, and we were mind blown! Chef Tyson Cole's brilliant mind has brought some brilliant food to the table. Chef Blake was also outstanding in his creations. We enjoyed the citrus taste of the hama chilli and the hot rocks were a treat to try. The wagyu was tender & perfect. Our waiter recommended the kurodai which was topped with fresh lime zest & it felt like a palate cleanser while also delicate. We enjoyed the Hamachi and Sake Karai as well. For dessert we tried the coconut tapioca pudding and the Honey Toast. I would buy a jar of cashew praline if I could. The Honey Toast was divine, and I would come back just to eat that! Joe - our waiter - was kind, friendly and recommended so many wonderful things. It was SXSW weekend, and our table was a little delayed. Both managers treated us with respect, offering us drinks, starters, taking such good care of us. The customer service was par excellence! Joe did an amazing job and needs to be commended! We loved Uchi and will definitely be back!

    Great experience! Service is fantastic, from the hosts to table side service. Equivalent to a fine dining experience. Food was good- we tried a LOT- some of it was really excellent. Great attention to detail. Highly recommend going to happy hour!!
