The food was excellent! We very much enjoyed our dinner. The drink menu was great. It took a little time to get our bill which seemed odd but overall an excellent experience we will definitely be back!

The atmosphere here was incredible! I loved the bank theme and the creative drinks! I would recommend some more high end food options to match the creativity of the drinks and also consider covering or frosting the front windows to limit distractions from outside. I will definitely go back!!

Had dinner at 7, Saturday night. There were only a handful of guest—the place felt as dead as any bank at that hour. The Vault seemed to be suffering from a mild identity crisis: the decorative aesthetic was fine dining but the menu was pub fare. The “vault” was simply a commercial door (not an old bank vault door as I expected) and this squeaked when opened and refused to be shut. This portal was the only feeble nod I could detect toward the gildings of a financial temple. The service was adequate—the waiter had no other distractions but our table—and the cuisine was tolerable enough to tempt a few pecks. But when we had made these few tokens of politeness, I was relieved when I could safely ask for the check, promptly pay, and foot my way out of the “Vault” as quickly as any Bonnie and Clyde.

Thank you for the very theatrical review. We’re glad our restaurant could inspire such a lengthy banking-themed creative writing exercise. For a little clarification, Vault 168 is a cocktail lounge and restaurant, not a museum or a historical bank exhibit. We’re sorry our vault door didn’t meet the level of authenticity you had envisioned. As for your experience, we’re always open to genuine feedback what we don’t appreciate is the way our staff was treated during your visit. Our waiter was attentive and professional throughout your dinner and deserved the same basic courtesy in return. Best of luck on your next getaway, Bonnie and Clyde.

They need WD-40 on that vault entrance door. Every single time someone arrived or left it would screech and was super annoying and disruptive while dining. The burgers were fantastic. Unfortunately our server seemed mostly disinterested. Good overall. We’ll be back if they fix that dang door.

Illegal credit card surcharges added. NY requires both a cash and credit price to be listed, this is since 2024. They don’t show this on the menus. When the bill came, no mention of cash vs card price, which while not permitted in NY, at least would have alerted me. Instead, restaurant added nearly 4% when the credit card was processed and the original bill didn’t say anything about a different amount for card vs. cash.
    Vault 168Responded on 6 September 2026
Calling something “illegal” doesn’t magically make it illegal. Our credit card pricing is disclosed on our menu AND on signage in the restaurant. Nothing is hidden. We understand that an additional credit card charge may be upsetting to someone watching every dollar of their dining budget, but that doesn’t justify overlooking clearly posted disclosures and then publicly accusing a business of illegal activity. If a few percent determines whether dining out fits the budget, cash is always an option. And if there’s ever confusion about a charge, asking our staff before paying works considerably better than posting a confidently incorrect review afterward. — Vault 168
