Vertical Detroit opened its doors in 2015 under the expertise of James Lutfy and Remy Lutfy. Their combined fifty years of wine knowledge, obtained after owning the Fine Wine Source in Livonia, Michigan, studying wines across the globe and simply having an absolute passion for it, gave Vertical Detroit the title of Downtown Detroit’s first high-end, wine-centric restaurant. Vertical Detroit serves as a wine bar/restaurant/retail space in the historic Paradise Valley district of Downtown Detroit. The space gives patrons a luxurious, yet comfortable atmosphere to enjoy quality wine, beer and liquor, paired with small plates, entrées and desserts. The wine bar concentrates on wine flights, specialty cocktails, shareable plates and retail sales. Vertical Detroit has something for everyone; whether you’re downtown for a casual drink, date night, catching up with friends, or stopping in after enjoying a show.

Unfortunately we went because they are closing in a couple of days and they are one of my favorite dining spots. It was a wonderful night. My girl Belle was as wonderful as always. And the family that owns the resturant was there and we got to share stories, wine and best wished for the future.

Service, food, excellent. Pricey, but worth it. I would recommend ditching wallet , play Sinatra music

A wonderful dining experience once again. I will really miss Vertical. One of my favorite restaurants in Detroit. Fantastic dishes and wines as well as top notch service.

My daughter and I have always loved Vertical. We enjoy the theater and would always dine at Vertical before or after our play. We are so sad that it is closing but happy that we got to enjoy one last delicious meal after seeing The Outsiders at Fischer Theater last night. Vertical…..you will be missed😢.

This was our first time there and we are so sad that they are closing. The food was so yummy and the space glorious. I can't express how much we enjoyed or pre opera dinner there. I honestly could not tell you how sad it was to hear... I was thinking I can't wait to bring my husband the next time we attended a performance at the opera house. Such is life. Wishing the owner an easy delivery and the joys of motherhood for the first time. She has a great restaurant and I'm sure she will do an excellent job baking that little bun in nature's oven. If you can get there one more time before they close forever. The mussels were to die for, the focaccia insanely delicious, and the squash risotto creamy tasty and so comforting on a rainy night. 10 out of 10.
