About this restaurant

  • Good for business meals
  • Kid-friendly
  • Innovative
Anchorage is where our story began. Our family first planted roots here as the proud owners of Chinatown Restaurant, serving the community with Chinese dishes for 10 wonderful years. When life took us to Seattle so our daughter could pursue her education, we made the difficult decision to sell the restaurant and start a new chapter.

But Anchorage never stopped feeling like home. Now, we’ve come full circle—returning to where it all started to open Wei, a name that reflects not only our family’s journey but also our passion for food. In Chinese, “Wei” (味) means “taste”—a simple word that captures everything we believe in: flavor, experience, and connection through food.

At Wei, we serve authentic Chinese flavors with thoughtful, modern twists. Our menu honors tradition while bringing something fresh and exciting to the table—for the community that has always felt like home.

Where memories linger and new flavors begin. Welcome to Wei.

We had 8 people at our table for a family birthday gathering. Great food great service. Our three year old grandson received some great kids chop sticks. The duck was great. We have been at Wei 8 times since we discovered it.

Accidentally charged wrong amount on my CC,( still waiting on that refund) food was pretty good but felt it was expensive for what I paid. Service was ok but place wasn’t busy. Hate to see businesses go under but I’m wondering if this place will survive.

It took the server a bit to get to our table. We tried to order drinks, only no longer have cocktails, only sake, and four different beers that we tried to order were no longer available. It was at that point we decided we would leave as we were celebrating a birthday and wanted cocktails. I can only imagine that when one would go to order food they would say they didn’t have half of what was on the menu. We will never go back again and I do not recommend this restaurant.

One of the worse service for a chinese establishment thats supposed to be in business for many years. Even though we had reservations, we were not seated at all and was instructed to sit in the waiting area. The server just looked at us and not even say a word. Either it was her first day or she did not know what she was doing. While waiting, two other parties left and got tires of waiting. 20 mins later, even though the place was not packed and clearly there were empty tables, we decided to go elsewhere. Waste of time. This place doesnt honor reservations.
