   Staff were excellent. Setting was quiet and intimate and very relaxing. The pumpkin risotto was sublime where the scallops were small, not properly seared and lacking of flavour. Turbout was delicate although slightly over done. Dessert hit the spot. It was light and refreshing.

   Food was excellent, staff asked if you were a first time visiting and explained menu. We were lucky to get a table beside the window as we could see out over the lake. Just a fab experience.

   We had a lovely meal at Wildes at the Lodge with friends last week. the food was wonderful and the service very attentive, as it was everywhere we went in Ireland. The Irish are SO friendly and helpful and we recommend Wilde's at the Lodge for a delicious and friendly meal.

    Really beautiful meal, we were looked after from start to finish, the service was amazing. I even got a little cake for my birthday which was such a lovely surprise! I will definitely be returning to Wilde’s when I visit the lodge again.

    Exceptional service and dinner. Exceptional view from the window our table faced, very cosy as the rain fell outside. Lots of little tasters in between our 3 course dinner. Staff gave a brief description of each and their ingredients when served. 10/10.

    We had a fantastic meal at Wilde’s the whole experience was amazing so relaxed the lighting and heat were so comfortable, and the staff were so efficient and helpful, I can’t reckon this restaurant enough for a special occasion or a nice romantic meal

    Beautiful decor and location. However, we were left to stand at the lift with no explanation despite passing staff as there was no-one available to take us to our table. When we got to our table, we were given menus and water, but after half an hour we had to stop a server to ask to order wine. The wrong bottle was then brought to the table. The food was hit and miss, and I had to send my main course back as my duck was burnt. The plate was returned to me and it was clear that it had sat under the heat lamps for the duration it had been taken (rather than a fresh plate being prepared), as the side I had plated was still on the plate. As a result the garnish was dried out and unpleasant. The replaced portion of duck was tough, and I had to ask for a steak knife. The dessert was delicious as was my starter and the breads, but my partner's starter was small and some of the garnish tasted stale. We had heard nothing but excellent reviews, so were extremely surprised and disappointed. The staff were very pleasant but seemed to be under a lot of pressure.

    My Wife and I went to Wilde's at the Lodge on Friday last to celebrate our anniversary and we were blown away by the food and the service. We were served by the very pleasant Angela and Emilio and everything from start to finish was of the very highest quality and was great value. We would definitely recommend Wilde's at the Lodge to anyone looking for a fantastic meal in a beautiful environment. We will definitely be back and we won't be waiting until our next anniversary!

    The food was ok . The fact that my wife and I had to hear a major bust up in the kitchen and the language used to say was xrated would be mild . We mentioned this to the waiter and he said this was normal . I have eaten in a lot of eateries and this behaviour is not normal .

    I booked lunch in Wilde's and had my reservation confirmed only to be told on arrival that I was having lunch in the ballroom, as is the norm on occasions like this- Easter. It felt like I was at a cheap buffet /wedding that I never asked to attend. The staff were good but I fail to see how they could be in a rush to clear up (removing table no.s) whilst we were still eating our meal. I booked Wilde's Restaurant, I should have at some point, been told that is not where my booking was for.. bearing in mind I called twice to confirm my reservation as the "restaurant" told me my lunch was at a different time than the email confirmations. Would not go back.

    From start to finish the meal was wonderful, both visually and, more importantly, in taste. All the staff said hello when we arrived and we had a lovely waitress who recognised when to come to us and when to leave us alone. We had a wonderful evening and would love to come back to Wilde's again.

    Really enjoyed the experience.....loved the idea of the "secret courses". The waitress Angela, was such a friendly and professional waitress. In fact all the staff who waited on the table were very professional. Fantastic place . Will definitely be back.

    There were fun extra courses (small plates)—4 in fact however the beautiful piece of halibut was over cooked and dry and there wasn’t enough sauce to compensate.

    What a beautiful setting. Delicious appetizers of stuffed cannelloni with wild mushrooms. Foie gras in a little trifle glass with raspberry ice. Yum! We had Turbot and scallops and duck. Everything was delicious. Good bottle of wine. Our 45th anniversary. Will have a hard time celebrating 46. The Ashford Lodge is a spectacular place to stay. Staff and management can't be more accommodating. Therese was charming and made sure everything was great. Will look forward to coming back.

    Beautiful setting overlooking lake and forest. Nice simple build-out. A great spot for a couple to enjoy an evening together. Service was average. Food made with locally sourced fresh ingredients was good but not great.

    The whole experience was truly amazing and I highly recommend to dine here! To the decor, staff, drinks and of course the food were all top notch. The quality of our meal was very flavorful and delicious. William and the mixologist Johnny were exceptional- very professional and accommodating. We loved it so much we are dining there again. A must go to spot- if you are in the area visiting.

    We dined in Wildes on Sunday night during our stay at the Lodge. The food was amazing as were the cocktails. It was so nice to try different types of food. The staff were lovely & very attentive. We really enjoyed it.

    We stayed at the Lodge and ate dinner one night here - it was spectacular - food was great fresh creative service was over the top - 6 of us had an unforgettable meal - our next night we ate at the Dungeon at the castle and we regretted that we wished we had come back to Wilde's !!! Great view of Lough Corribbe too-

    The food is very good and the location is lovely. But the servers have not been trained at all. They are very sweet, and friendly. They are just in over their heads and shouldn't be in this environment. They were dripping wine all over the table, total inability to answer questions on the menu or wine list and long breaks in service that then came to a screeching halt. Our sides were served when our entrees were almost finished (and would have been finished had we not delayed and slowed eating in hopes of having sides but didn't want to eat cold mains). Then our plates set uncleared for an awkwardly long time. And dessert didn't show up before we gave up and left. It's not the servers fault. Management needs to hire staff trained for the price point and environment they are aiming at, or shut down until staff is trained. I felt like I was their on the job training. Management was not present on the floor, and considering the small size of the restaurant and the obviously green staff, that is inexcusable. Considering the amount of staff at the castle that is trained for fine service, it's bizarre they are trying to run this restaurant so I'll equipped.

    On arriving at the lodge I was stopped by security to be informed the hotel was closed to the public. The duty manager came out to tell me the same. I showed him my confirmation e mail for the booking but he told me that it was closed and I would have to come back again in the future.... No negotiating with him at all. Not even a promise of a free drink or meal on my return. I was so upset as it was my partners birthday and this was my present. It wasn't about just a meal it was meant to be about the experience.... And some experience it was. For a hotel group of its status the customer service was non existent. My sister had been considering here as a venue for her wedding but now they have just lost this business. Totally upset. Ruined the night for us.
