The Winding Stair
Since moving to Dublin this was the best meal we have enjoyed. Highly recommend it.
Amazing as always, fantastic service, sublime food! My favourite!
Awesome venue with some amazing dishes. The service was top notch and the meals were prepared wonderfully. Highly recommend this place!
A very good experience food was excellent and the service was outstanding and very kind. Would highly recommend.
Fabulous food and superb service. We sat beside a window overlooking the Liffey Boardwalk on a sunny August day - couldn’t ask for more.
La carne, del plato más caro, estaba durísima y sin sabor alguno. Fué el plato de dos de los cuatro comensales. Mal.
I really enjoyed the restaurant! The food was lovely. I would definately recommend it to others.
Loved our food and the atmosphere. Great wine list!
Good staff and food, but too much noise. The acoustic on the upper floor is not suited for the amount of people.
Great spot with a really nice atmosphere. Lovely city views
We had a wonderful night. Food was superb. I had the potted crab to begin with while my husband had the seafood chowder. Both were fabulous as were the two main dishes. But what I was really impressed with was the service. Never too much, never too little and incredibly thoughtful. Thank you.
From arrival to departure our dining experience was second to none. Really warm and friendly staff and the food was delicious. Great range of dishes on offer and quick service. I would highly recommend a visit. Book first so as not to be disappointed.
Amazing food and service veggie cauliflower crochets were outstanding.I would have liked the opportunity to pass on good feedback about them but the team were too busy to talk to
It is expensive but it's worth it for a treat. I bought a friend from the states for lunch and he really enjoyed the Irish menu. It's a great spot, lovely staff. I've never not had a good time
Had a great night here recently. Had 2 friends visiting from the UK and wanted to bring them somewhere with excellent food. Has been there years ago and loved it but wasn’t sure if it was still as good. I was not disappointed and my friends raved about it all weekend. An extensive wine list with lots of choice. The quality of the food is superb and every morsel was delicious. Service was brilliant. Orders taken quickly and starters served soon after. Enough wait time in between. We had a lovely waiter, full of the chat, some really interesting stories but not overdoing it. Definitely value for money. It’s not cheap but neither wildly expensive. There’s other restaurants in Dublin charging the same or more and you don’t get the quality or quantity you do here. Highly highly recommend and won’t leave it as long to go back.
Lovely fabulosity meal. Food delight and service charming. Highly recommend ❤️🐝❗️
We had a great meal with friends here - staff were friendly and relaxed and very accommodating when asked if meals could be adjusted to suit dietary requirements.
Great food and wine, modern irish. Old-world setting, not fancy.
Great views over Liffey to Temple Bar.
I was very proud to have brought my American friends to lunch at the Winding Stair.
The menu and the staff, the ambience and The quality and presentation of the food were all excellent.
They were very impressed with the restaurant, as was I.
Thank you for making us so welcome.
Very nice authentic Irish atmosphere. Good food and good service
Amazing experience, delicious food, friendly staff. Definitely recommend!
Fantastic dinner- the smoked fish appetizer and trout dinner were so delicious, and the desserts (ginger pear, and bread pudding with whiskey butter sauce) heavenly. The upstairs room has great views, high ceilings and great acoustics.
A very good food but unfortunately the service and the ambiance didn’t support the cost. There was very little selection in terms of local drinks and food. Saying that, the meals that we’d ordered were very delicious. Anyhow, I think, the overall experience was expensive. The restaurant is a gastropub and not anything more elegant that we’ve expected.
Beautiful meal and excellent service,as always! Wonderful experience.
There is a nice ambience to the restaurant and the seafood was very good, my partner had the steak which was also very good.
Staff friendly and food & wine reasonably priced. Perfect for an anniversary night out
I always make a stop at The Winding Stair when I am in Dublin. 5 stars in my book. The freshest and most delicious food. Perfect atmosphere and charming location.
Very enjoyable summers evening meal, pre-theatre visit, initially thought the menu a bit limited but thanks to the very informative staff it became much easier to choose, and the result was empty plates all round. It's a while since we were there, we won't leave it so long the next time
We were referred to this restaurant by our hotel, the Dean. We were going to the Abbey Theatre for my dad’s 75th birthday and could not have had a more incredible meal. Every single thing we ordered was so good! The service was great and it’s such a cute place. I’m so happy that we found it, and it was only a couple of blocks away from the theater.
A great location and view. Food superb. Our Dublin go to restaurant.
Amazing food, I couldn’t recommend it enough! Everything on the menu is outstanding and the staff where lovely!
Lovely setting and service plus great food. However, the full room was very loud and made conversation very hard. How about investing in some sound proofing and allowing diners to eat and converse in comfort. We left without dessert because it was too loud.
Excellent food, professional and attentive yet unobtrusive service in a charming and uplifting environment.
With my main course 3 slices of potatoe were served. They were of such poor quality , just awful. Would expect better especially this time of year. Meat and veg were lovely and enjoyable. Would expect each element of the dish to be really good.
Had bread and butter pudding for desert, flavor good, crust on pudding like rubber. Sauce I enjoyed immensely. My friend disappointed with amount of bones in her fillet of trout. I thought fish was deboned before serving.
I really do have an issue with the quality of potatoes served in restaurants in Dublin. We have such beautiful potatoes available in our shops I don’t see why the restaurants can’t provide customers with a high quality potato.
The food was fabulous.
Staff very welcoming and attentive, food presented magnificently and tasty.
very busy and loud restaurant , wooden floor/chairs - no soft furnishings to dampen sound, tables set up in very close proximity to others, chairs not conducive to any form of comfort
Enjoyed a birthday meal. Great buzzy atmosphere. Quirky setting above an old bookshop. Waiters were very friendly, knowledgeable and professional. Generous portions with a vast wine selection - they don’t have a spirits licence.
We had a wonderful time at The Winding Stair, mainly due to the combination of FANTASTIC food and wonderful service from the staff. The only bit that disappointed a bit, was the noise levels in the room, it is too loud to truly fully enjoy the wonderful rest--- it is so easy to fix with some noise absorbing decorations, which I would recommend, as it does not need much toning down at all. I'd still recommend heartily as the food is really worth it!
I was so impressed by the food and ambiance here. Wonderful!
Thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience. Food was delicious. The service was exceptional, informative friendly obliging staff. Highly recommend.
We had a most enjoyable meal at this venue, we will return
