What goes around comes around.
Originally built and immortalized in 1881 by German carousel master carver and builder, Charles I.D. Looff — nicknamed “Wolfie” by friends — the revolving centerpiece of our fine establishment settles between the see and the be seen and somewhere between myth and legend. Wolfie’s Carousel is a singular setting to enjoy a moveable feast with the vanguard of old and new.

Known for his intricate and whimsical hand-carved carousels and amusement rides, Charles built over 40 carousels in his time. “Wolfie’s” carousels circled the country from Brooklyn to Coney Island, Rhode Island to the West Coast — his inimitable style of carving captivating crowds and inspiring others. We take the spirit of Wolfie and his carousels and pledge to live a life well traveled, grabbing the brass ring in an evocation of a Paris brasserie. Good food, good drink, and honorable traditions liberated from pretension and restraint, we welcome you to Wolfie’s Carousel.

Food and restaurant interior GORGEOUS but that's all there is to it. Food was... questionable. Edible but did not taste good. Have not tried their drinks so maybe that's where they put all their energy into. Also charge a 5% fee automatically at the end of the meal.

If our experience is typical, I would not recommend going to Wolfie's for the food. Getting the good stuff out of the way, this place is beautiful and has high end vibes. Very romantic and fun. The wait staff is excellent, they were attentive and helpful. The food is bad. It looked questionable, smelled damp and musty, tasted extremely boring. Sort of what I would expect from a tourist trap British pub. We had the croque madame and the beef hash. The croque madame shows up cool and the sauce is gelatinous. The flavor is of dry bread and lacks seasoning. The first thing I noticed about the beef hash was the smell, it was dank. Maybe not moldy, but not what you'd want food to smell like. It looked and tasted like unseasoned beef stew. I asked for hot sauce because it really didn't have much going on, but they didn't have anything to offer me. Will probably go back, but only for drinks, and only because I live near by.

Wolfie's is a must. The heirloom tomatoes were unreal, steak frites worth the price tag. Drinks were delicious, I really enjoyed the Belle Fille. The bar rotates giving the feel of a carousel, super fun. Cool decor. Service was excellent! Perfect birthday date with my spouse.

The food and drinks were great! Only “downside” is that the carousel bar is open seating so reservations don’t count for this.

Shout out to the folks at Wolfie's who held our table for an hour after our car has been towed. Additional kudos to our excellent server, Kika! Fantastic drinks and tasty food. Loved it so much we came back again for more cocktails. Parking is a challenge, but worth the effort. Highly recommend.

First it was very hard to find as it was on a side street, first impression when we found was that it looked closed and no longer open, the outside was old neglected and next door weeds and dilapidated regardless we went inside, we where the first customers, we where greeted by the hostess who was very nice and decided to give ut a try, we started with a drink on the rotating carousel bar, and where greeted by the bar tender Patrick who was very nice, after our drink we went to our table and slowly people started coming in. The menu was limited so we ordered the pommes frites and Escargot, the escargots, they where excellent, surprisingly they did not come with bread, we had to order the bread as a side dish, it said it was a baguette but actually it was an American roll and was charged for it. we also ordered the moules frites, they came from B.C. they are known for having the best they where excellent and so was the broth but also did not come with bread, the next order was the steak tartare, which was very good as well except the toasted bread was made with regular white sliced bread and was on the sweet side, this interfered with the taste of the tartare. finally we came to the desert, I suggest changing the desert, replace it with a Grand Marnier soufflé, Crêpes Suzette and a French Coupe Melba. Hope this helps, Executive Chefs Ron and Michele We still would recommend your place because it's different and everyone was nice the above is only proffesional critisism

The waitress was great. The hostess was awful. We made a reservation and showed up on time with my 83 year old mother who was looking forward to this dining experience. One of the booths under the horses was open so I asked if we could sit there. I was told “no”. It was being held for 6 people. Six people never came. I watched the whole time. A group of 4, our exact number were seated there instead. Not sure why we were not good enough to be seated there. My 83 year old mother was hurt and upset. Then the man who came to clear the oysters flipped the bread and butter plate on to me. The butter stained my dress and my handbag. He did not apologize or offer to help clean it up. Seriously!?! Awful. I’m not sure the grease will come out of either. So ruined dress, ruined handbag, upset 83 year old mother. Great job Wolfies

Ambiance was absolutely amazing, the center of attention is the carosel bar....literally! The bar chairs rotate around the bar. The food is unbelievably delicious and the drinks are perfectly made. Our waitress went above and beyond to make our first experience there memorable. We can't wait to go back and try something different from the menu. Our goal is to keep going until we've tried everything from the chefs kitchen!

Went on a Saturday morning for brunch. Had a really lovely time! Service was great and the food is very rich & delicious. The cuisine is French and the portions were decent but not large. While the probations lacked in size, the food made up in flavor! The crème brûlée French toast was beautifully presented with flowers and berries. The French toast had a brûlée crust and was so decadent malt delicious! Beignets were just pillows of sweet crème dough melting in your mouth! They were perfectly sugared & came with 2 jams (berry & a lemon) you could dip into. The short rib hash was so rich and hearty I could only eat half! I saved the rest and ate it for lunch. The hash tasted just as good reheated as it did in the restaurant. The hash has cubes of Wolfie’s spam fried potatoes which was like really flavorful hash browns. Since it was Saturday morning when they first opened up, the noise level was quiet because only a handful of people were having brunch. The rotating bar can make some people motion sick. I get motion sick super easy so I took a Dramamine before brunch and was fine sitting at the rotating bar. The ladies restroom makes you feel like you’re in a Victorian Alice in Wonderland set! Highly recommend visiting Wolfie’s!

Worst restaurant experience in a long time. The food, the cocktails, the service, and noise level, all were terrible. I love to eat out, want positive experience and even tend to give positive reviews. In this case, I just cannot. If you enjoy gourmet food, amazing ambience and high quality cocktails, go to Juniper and Ivy or Herb and Wood or Born and Raised, all nearby.

Wow, I’ve had a LOT of oysters. These were fresh beyond belief; I don’t know how they do it. But that alone was so incredibly cool to experience. Ordered 12 oysters, tomato salad, croque madame, side of scrambled eggs and avocado terrine and it was all great. Kind of expensive, but combined with the atmosphere and service the prices are understandable. I think they add crème fraîche to their scrambled eggs which was also pleasant. Cocktails and wine are EXPENSIVE. Not a complaint, but be prepared. Excellent service, nice atmosphere. Kind of kitschy, but cool.

Had a lovely experience celebrating a birthday over lunch. Other than the airplanes approaching Lindbergh field, the ambience was so fun, playful and pretty. Don't miss the gender specific, woman's bathroom. Excellent Salade Nicoise and amazing Smoked Salmon Tartine. Beautifully presented. The birthday beignets, recommended by our server, did not disappoint. Light, fluffy. Just delicious. Service was excellent. Just the right amount of attention. Never felt rushed which added to our experience. Next time, we're sitting at the rotating bar!

Absolutely delicious food. Good service! EXTREMELY noisy, to the point of not being able to converse at all across the table. We were there for a late Sunday brunch. Great beignets, but...NO COFFEE? At all!! None! No tea, either. Seems very strange for a brunch venue. (Apparently pushing their higher priced mixed drinks?) I dunno what's up with Wolfie's, but in New Orleans, one has coffee with beignets.

What a unique venue with the revolving bar seating and the decor that reminds me of Belle Epoch Paris. Expect it to be crowded and loud. Reservations are a plus. Parking can be a challenge. The valet parking is $20 for unlimited time. We only had the cheese and fruit platter which was awesome and beignetts for dessert was wonderful. Drinks too were good. But do expect to pay for this experience. Its all pricey but worth it. Would go again!

The drinks were just okay, but nothing impressive for the price. Our cheese plate had a piece that was inedible and instead of bringing us a different piece, they brought a steak knife and said that’s how the cheese was supposed to be. Even with the steak knife, we still couldn’t eat it. To top it off, our sever was so pretentious that from the first interaction we were already disappointed. We were so excited to check this place out but after this experience, we won’t be back. Such a bummer.

What a fabulous venue! The ambiance is whimsical! The bar/carousel spins slowly. The drinks and wines by the glass are top notch and served beautifully! The food is delicious …we enjoyed escargot (bread is a must), followed by boeuf bourguignon and moules & frites😀. We capped it off with beignets…heavenly!

I wanted this to be a 5 star place because it was sooooo cute and had great reviews. I booked the reservation weeks in advance because we were traveling, we reserved a table for Sunday evening. We didn’t need reservations… it was empty! Which I loved of course! I was dining with my toddler so we sat at a table, everything was so cute!! The ugly… the food made me sick 😔 I hate to report that but it wasn’t tasty either. I ordered the gnocchi, the mushroom appetizer, and the French onion soup. Can’t say I’d recommend any but if I ever went back. I was bummed to see the bill be $85 for those three items and a glass a wine( the wine was good!! It was the middle choice of the white wines) Another disappointing thing was they weren’t busy but our food took 30 minutes from the time we ordered… 30 minutes with a toddler is actually hours. It did come out hot but I was so confused why it took so long, there were two other tables dining while we dined… It definitely an experience and should be tried once, but probably just for drinks and a few quick photos.

Took a friend who was visiting and her 23 year old daughter and we had a blast! We sat at the revolving bar, enjoyed 2 bottles of their chenin blanc and some of their yummy appetizers. The portions were perfect for sharing and went well with the wine we chose. Note that you’ll hear airplanes flying overhead and if you’re sensitive to motion or get motion sickness, I wouldn’t sit at the bar. It’s a super cute bar and a perfect place to go if you want to take girlfriends for something fun and different!

I went here with a girlfriend for a late afternoon lunch. The ambiance was stunning. Food was pretty good as well. My issue was with a bartender named Logan who was INCREDIBLY RUDE. Eye rolling and a bad attitude a service industry is shameful. Another bartender who was a delight, Kai apologized for what we had to experience and saved what would’ve been a disappointment with his very good vibes.
