Zantinya is great but I made reservations there assuming that their vaccination policy was still in effect. Because I was meeting 3 friends I did stay but I was very disappointed to learn that they now “recommend” vaccination but not require it. I won’t be returning Until the vaccination policy is reinstated.

Tasty food, excellent service. Our server took special care with the allergies of two members of our party. The small plates were brought out one at a time, which gave us space to enjoy each as they came out (except when allergies were implicated, in which case she brought out two plates so that no one went hungry).
Plan to go back!

I hadn't been to Zatinyah since pre-Covid, but they haven't missed a beat.

The food was wonderful. We especially enjoyed the falafel and the chicken and rice dish, but all the small plates we shared were absolutely delicious. You can't make a wrong choice from this menu.

The service was attentive and kept the small plates coming.

I realized how much I had missed Zatinyah, and can't wait to go back!

Pre-gamed on the patio before the Caps home opener. Service was a little spotty but otherwise a delightful meal. We enjoyed the shish touk, olive tray, falafel, Brussels sprouts, shrimp, and cheese pide, along with a lovely bottle or 2 of rose.

Loud noise close tables . Food has been much better in past multiple visits. Lamb kabob was dried out and not at all tasty. Seafood small plates were even smaller than at past experiences. My wife, who specifically requested we celebrate her birthday at Vaytinya, was very disappointed as was I.

We sat on the very pleasant outdoor patio - quite festive. The service was friendly and attentive. We shared a variety of small plates. They were all tasty, but not remarkable.

I lived in DC when Zaytinya was a new restaurant, and some things have changed - I wish they would just charge you for good bread (it used to be so good, chewier, functional for scooping up sauces with) instead of giving all tables really mediocre free bread that just crumbles apart. The dishes are flavorful, but spotty in execution - my shrimp was undercooked while my meatballs were overcooked; and things took a bit long to come out given that it was lunch on a Monday.

Fabulous dining experience at Zaytinia. The bartender suggested great selections. Our waiter was extremely friendly and helpful. We tried a variety of dishes which were all excellent. We loved the small plates to share which gave our group of 5 an opportunity to sample many menu items. The ambience and decor was lovely. This is a definite place in will revisit.

The food was good but wasnt the best like i used to remember. The dips were spot on like they always are. The service was alright because the first waiter greeted us like they didnt want to be there and the second person did a great job to make up for it

Love the food, missed some of my old favorites but then we are in a new place. Tried the lamb kebab, good and the falafel is always the best - moist center unlike the dried out centers of most.

We thoroughly enjoyed the dish Celebration Rice, which is an excellent dish based on I believe a Persian/Iranian dishes. Usually we have a variety of the small plates that they are famous for. The rice dish could have served at least 3 persons or even 4. We brought the rest home, also had a delightful cheesecake ( no comparison to other) and the chocolate dessert as this was a birthday dinner.

This was my worst experience at zaytinya, a restaurant I’ve come to love whenever in DC. The staff was SO aggressive, even trying to take a plate away from my friend when she was literally in the middle of eating from it. They came over every five minutes when I told him we weren’t in a rush and wanted to catch up asking us to order more. The amount of intrusion on the conversation was so frustrating and annoying and no matter how many times I tried to tell them politely we would flag them down when we needed them they just incessantly bothered us. The portions were smaller than I ever remembered, the food not as good and the whole experience incredibly disappointing🥺!!!

Went to celebrate a friend’s birthday with a reservation of 8. They took us to the table outside and it only had 6 seats. It wasn’t that big of deal since one guest couldn’t make it and they just had to add a chair. We decided to order the Chef’s Tasting menu. Everything we ate was pretty good but it did take a while for the course to come out. The server wasn’t as attentive because we had to ask for basic things like napkins and our drinks several times for her to remember. Overall, I would definitely go back since the food and ambiance is great.

Zaytinya is the only place I've been which has retained a pre-pandemic feel and sensibility. Wait staff still act as if they want to be doing what they do; their work (and everything that goes on in the kitchen) telegraphs generous hospitality, kindness, and grace. And the food is still fantastic, too.
