Welcomed on arrival, offered drink in bar or straight to seat. Pleasant dining room, simply decorated staff were very friendly. We chose the Alacarte menu. Scallops and game terrine to start, both very tasty. Followed by halibut which came with fries, tartar sauce and mushy peas, I had roe deer which was so tender and tasty. Desserts we were spoilt for choice but opted for chocolate souffle and florentine donuts. Souffle was like eating air, so light and tasty. I wasn't sure what to expect with donuts but florentine made me think of nuts but they were warm small balls of very light and exceptionally tasty donuts served with jam and cream. We really enjoyed our food, it was on the expensive side but there was a fixed price menu which was very reasonable.

The service was exceptional ; attentive and prompt but not overwhelming or intrusive . The food was good but the crepe for dessert was cool and not very light. The prawns for starter were delicious as was the steak which was perfectly cooked and still hit when it arrived despite being rare. The only thing that spoilt the experience was the room temperature which was cool bordering on cold! This would make me not want to return.

Great service, polite and attentive. Food was really good and reasonable value for money. We were on our way to the theatre and the complementary glasses of Crémant, were delightful!
