After many years talking about dining here we finally made it and celebrated our 20th anniversary. Probably a bit slow, even for a Wednesday night but that was fine by us for quiet and privacy. The first brought complimentary bread and butter and these little cheese stuffed potato balls sat in some sort of mushroom sauce. The escargot was excellent, being my first time trying it. The roasted beet salad which is a favorite my wife and I might’ve been the best one ever. The dressing was incredible. Then on to the Wild Mushroom tart that was my wife’s favorite of the night. There was this sweet and tangy goat cheese that made the dish. We would up splitting 1 entree being quite full from all of those appetizers and setting on the apple and onion pork chop nestled in a bed of polenta and collards. Cooked so well and quite a large chop it was perfect to split. The apples and onions were cooked down in molasses I believe and added such a unique flavor. So good. Finished with a crème brulee dessert which made the entire meal and dining experience absolutely amazing. My wife and I taking the month of October off from alcohol, we were shocked with how cheap the bill was so we gave a little extra to make up for it and because our server was a delight. Can’t wait to go back

Pleasant atmosphere. Limited but high quality menu. Nice wine selections. Very attentive but not obtrusive service. Prices are reasonable but not necessarily a bargain.

They need to admit that the hostess can’t wait tables as well.

Celebrated our anniversary with a couple of dear friends. It was the best of our 4 nights in Eureka. Everything was perfect. A sophisticated New Orleans vibe. We all loved the fabulous food, our host, cocktails, and wine. Simply the best.

Chose 301 for our anniversary and had a wonderful time. When the server brought out some pre-appetizers, we asked if they were gluten-free. They weren't, so the server came back and suggested a wonderful substitution for my wife but left the others for me to consume (score!). Her poached salmon was cooked perfectly, as were the brussels that accompanied it. My short ribs were fall off the bone tender and the pomme puree and carrots were splendid as well. The wine list here is incredible (you need to see it to believe it). We've been coming here for special occasions for over 20 years, and we will certainly return again!

Excellent small restaurant. The menu is straight forward and relatively simple. The food was very well done and delicious. It is a small restaurant in the first floor of the Carter House Inn. A small hotel with a surprisingly lively bar scene. I recommend it if you are in the area.

A solid, fairly traditional, French-style menu. Escargot was excellent. The steak was very well prepared, but the cut was very suboptimal, with a good deal of gristle/fat. In general, they did a lot better on the appetizers than the mains. Desserts were good too. This may well be the best restaurant in town, but I'm trying to grade on a consistent level, and on that bsis it doesn't quite shine.
