Excellent food and service!
Fun, lively ambiance. Fantastic service, every when we were 30 minutes late for our reservation. Great food! A wonderful night!
My first time in the restaurant although I had been at a wedding here. Friday night get together with some old friends. We had a lovely round table. Perfect for 5 of us. Menu choice was good. Good wine at a reasonable price. Service was friendly and very good. They were able to accommodate our request to have the salmon served different to the menu. As the evening went on the noise level was a factor which made it hard to hear but one could argue it added to the atmosphere. I would go back.
Wonderful afternoon catching up with friends. Service impeccable and food delicious. Will definitely return 😍😍
Most enjoyable! Lovely to sit at a spacious table with proper cloth, napkins and service. Good food, good attention to detail. We could relax and enjoy our celebration😀.
really enjoyed the ambience, the staff were friendly, and they remembered the birthday candle which i had requested ages previously! that was EXCELLENT! delicious food, lovely drinks, good value when you take location, staff and standard into account. thanks very much - so pleased we chose there!
We went for my mums birthday and had a lovely time. the service was really really good, great, friendly, helpful staff. We had vegans, vegetarians and omnivores and everyone was happy with the food. Definitely recommend for a special occasion - a really lovely treat.
8 of us went for my daughters graduation.food &service was good but 12.5% service charge on drinks was a little steep.
Lovely place, very good atmosphere and friendly staff.
Lovely restaurant with great cocktails and amazing food. Well presented with good service.
Lovely restaurant , outstanding food and service. Would recommend
Lovely food. Nice atmosphere. €120 quid (2 of us)for starters, mains, a cocktail each and 1 glass of red for me. I had fillet steak which is always expensive on the menu. Service very good. No complaints.
Love this haunt and am a regular but on this occasion I have to say that the service was a bit patchy. Various people served us with varying levels of experience.... having a debate about whether or not there’s a Slimline version of Fever Tree tonic with a customer (who knows her stuff) perhaps needs to review the service 1.01 manual.
Pre theatre dinner. Most enjoyable. Will definitely be back again.
Excellent meal. Early evening, pre-theatre visit with friends. Service very professional and quick, without being rushed. Good choice on menu. Appreciated a few tastes of wine before making selection.
A family dinner out in town and this restaurant fitted the bill perfectly. A good and attentive waiting service and a prompt reception service were well noted by everyone at our table. The food was good too. I once had a steak at this restaurant and it was cooked perfectly to my order. A medium well done that was still not dry and was juicy at the center. This time I had a salad for my starter and a vegetarian dish for the main. Both were very good. The feedback I got from the other family members variously on their burger, steak etc was all very positive.
Outstanding menu and service, with excellent vegan options for food and wine.
Amazing food, great service. Expensive but worth it. We'll be back!!
Fab meal and service ! Kid friendly. Will return again
Dined here on the recommendation of a friend. Food was excellent. Thoroughly enjoyed
We felt very welcome on arrival, got a lovely table. The waiter was very nice and the food was excellent.
I have been there a few times recently and it is one of the best places for food and service
Nice but quite pricey. We asked for Margaritas and were given a passionfruit concoction - delicious but not what we asked for
Great wine and cocktail selection. Service was attentive without being overbearing. Mains selection on alacarte could probably do with 2-3 more options. All in all, great evening, would return!
Lovely food. Very attentive staff. Perfect for a catch up.
I was very happy with the whole experience. I took my sister and a more elderly relative there and they were also very impressed with their first experience in the restaurant. The staff were very friendly, courteous and professional. We liked the way that our meal wasn’t rushed and there was never a feeling that we were staying too long. It’s lovely when staff are attentive but not intrusive. The range of food on the lunch menu was better than in many restaurants and we all enjoyed the sea bream and quail.
The wine...the Rioja... was as good as the food. Well done to all...we’ll be back.
Staff were very attentive, friendly and informative. Overall service was great from start to finish. A nice quiet mid-week spot in a beautiful building with delicious vegan options.
Really enjoyed the grilled oysters, rabbit rillets and the lamb and pork belly! Our waiter overheard me wishing my fiancé a happy birthday and brought a little ice cream with a candle out! It was very thoughtful of him!
Our starters were excellent but I felt the quality of the main and dessert weren't as high. My peppercorn sauce was bland and watery and the ice cream in the knickerbocker glory was melted when it arrived.
Our waiter was very attentive & pleasant and we were very happy with the extensive wine list.
Unfortunately the waitress who was taking our bill appeared inexperienced and almost overcharged us by €50, we asked twice to see a manager who she did not notify of our displeasure.
Overall it was a very pleasant evening but I did feel the main courses were somewhat overpriced.
Fun place, buy wine in lower level and pay corkage fee in restaurant.. Great meal
Service outstandingly good. Attentive but unobtrusive. Unfazed by very late arrival of one of our group.
A very good evening, delicious food and attentive service.—————-
The food is very tasty and very well presented. We dined in the early evening and only had 2 glasses of Vine with 2 courses each (1 off the early bird) and it was €110 which I thought was rather pricey for what it was.
This was my third visit and unfortunately I will not be returning.
It was dark enough when we arrived at 9pm , but then inexplicably at 10pm the lights dimmed some more ... making it very difficult to see what was on your plate. When I asked one of the waiters - she said it was because of the cocktails (I've no idea what was meant)
My starter was scallops ... the four small scallops were tasty, served on a slate with some sauce swirls and greenery with a couple of spots of colour ... not worth the €15 price though.
My Ribeye (Medium) was good .. tender and cooked just a little be closer to well-done than i expected. The chips were tasty. The side of "greens" were just a bit too similar to the SuperValu bag of baby-leaf salad for my liking! I asked for garlic mayonnaise and "no they don't have it" I settled for normal Mayo ... but did think that for the prices the chef could have added a bit of garlic powder/salt/ground garlic to a spoonful of mayo! Basically the customer is not "No. 1"
My dining companion was not impressed with his starter of Rabbit. He said the rare ribeye steak he ordered was overcooked, sinewy and charred. It was difficult to cut with a flavour of burnt toast on some mouthfuls, not a hint of blood anywhere on the plate. He was very disappointed.
We looked at the dessert menu and felt to was unimaginative and over priced.
The Wine (TinPot Hut) was lovely if a bit pricey at €42 for the bottle.
Basically the last two times I was there I really enjoyed the food and drink. I wanted to "show the place off" to my companion as a great place to dine. We were to be disappointed.
There was a bit of a "don't care" attitude from the staff .... the waiter offered to "put it back on the pan" when my companion said his rare steak was overcooked!! Needless to say that would not improve it! So it looks like your training of wait-staff needs to be overhauled too.
Great service and very good food, it exceeded my expectations given the restaurant is above the market, only downside is that it was very warm in the restaurant due to hot temperature outside and no or inefficient air conditioning.
The food was absolutely delicious! We were a party of six and we all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. The atmosphere was great and the service was exceptional. We would definitely recommend.
Food and service were excellent! A little on the loud side and a bit hot but overall it was a fab night!
Restaurant decor needs updating, menu itself could have more choice and innovative items.
Wine menu too vast could be shorter, with better recommendations.
The restaurant at Fallon and Byrne is a large space so usually easy to get into but at the same there is always a good number dining so always a nice buzz. The menu is compact and has a good range of dishes to suit all tastes. On the night of dining, I had the beetroot salad and hake dishes both of which were excellent. There is an excellent wine list - wines by the glass are pricey. We had very good, friendly service.
Food was average, uninspiring. Service was sharp and attentive. Table layout and atmosphere I liked
Fallon and Byrne, delicious food,
Friendly and efficient service in a beautiful room that enables you to relax and chat while at the same time feeling stylish and sophisticated.
