Excellent!
La Scala is the real thing. Not fake Italian. Chef/Owner Nino comes out and talks to the customers. Highly recommended. Authentic and delicious.
Our server Willie was pleasant, professional, attentive, and very helpful with his recommendations. We also had a nice conversation with the owner (Nino) and the food was superb as always.
Pasta was over done. Decor dated. Chicken piccata needs more seasoning. Service was fine. Grilled Cesar salad had a gasoline taste to it.
This is a fabulous place, the menu has wonderful flavor combinations. they have a separate cheese and meat menu that was fantastic and went great with the complimentary string beans at the table.
The food like always was fantastic so is the service and employees, was very loud at first several football fans came in, but once they were asked to tone it down it was much more pleasant, great place great gem
Always a great meal. It is specially nice that they take care of people that need to be gluten free without any issues.
This was our 3rd time at La Scala. This was the first time that two of meals were brought out totally incorrect.
It then took an inordinate amount of time to bring out the correct meals.
We sat in the rear of the restaurant and the noise from several large parties was deafening.
Food and service are always superb. It’s our go to Italian Restaurant in Baltimore; and we are picky!
Delicious food, great atmosphere.
very noisy and very slow, but nice food, nice waiter, nice place, for good, traditional red-sauce Italian cooking.
Definitely NOT for people with ANY difficulty hearing or for anyone physically disabled! -- many rickety, uneven stairs up to the 2nd floor, and unbelievably noisy up there, at least in the room we were in. Not much there for vegetarians, either.
Solid Italian with nice ambience, good wine list. We stopped in on a weekend in Baltimore
Great food. Great Service. Excellent waitress made perfect wine recommendation
La Scala is our favorite restaurant in Baltimore. I booked this reservation for my wife’s birthday celebration and the La Scala team did not disappoint. We had a secluded area where my wife and I felt like we were the only patrons there. This personal attention, friendly service and “the best” food in town made for a night we will always remember.
Amazing food, Serivce and Atmosphere! Feels like your are eating at an old friends home!
Excellent. Went on a date night while visiting Baltimore.
Came here to celebrate and had a great time! Only wish we could have managed to eat dessert but we were way too full! Will definitely be coming back.
We love this place. They make you feel at home. It feels like a neighborhood Italian restaurant yet the atmosphere is energetic and fun. We’ve had shrimp dishes, veal, and chicken dishes along with wonderful pasta. All are consistently delicious. The lemon cannoli cannot be missed. We think it’s one of Baltimore’s best!
The restaurant is good for anytime you want to eat especially a fine meal in a pleasant dining area (some less noisy than others).. we had a wonderful time, b
Bachelorette party - has a great time and even our waiter Gabe recommendations on places to go out (we are not local). They also had a shuttle!
Wish I hade discovered this gem earlier! Great food and service. Very crowded on a Saturday night, but with our reservaiwe we're seated within minutes of the reserved time. Although crowded, our waiter gave us great service. Food was plentiful and delicious. We will return and return!!
This is my second time to La Scala and it did not disappoint. I took 6 business colleagues there and everyone thanked me so much for taking them as they all very much enjoyed their meals. The previous time I went with my husband. We are from PA and after our meal, we often talked about how delicious and special the meal and entire experience was. We even considered driving the 2+ hour trip to eat there again! I would highly recommend this restaurant for a romantic dinner for two as well as a business dinner for a group of people. Very authentic Italian! Thank you for a wonderful experience.
Went there on the STRONG recommendation of the concierge at the hotel AND after reading Baltimore Magazine’s stellar review.
This is an excellent choice for a good, authentic, traditional Italian meal. Great house-made pasta and a very good filet. The vodka sauce was the best we’ve ever had. DO NOT fail to order the Gorgonzola cheese bread...it’s a religious experience. Everything seemed very fresh and the flavors were spot on.
Our waiter was like something out of Central Casting. An older Italian gentleman who’s worked there for about 20 years. He was attentive but low-key. Just right.
The place was full, yet pretty quiet. The crowd seemed to be comprised of well-to-do couples on double dates, numerous business diners and a couple of pretty good sized groups of 20-something’s. Seemed to be all locals. Everyone well-heeled and well behaved. This place is fun - not staid at all - but NOT the place for a rowdy, loud party. ‘Nuff said.
The decor is exactly what you would expect from an older, traditionally upscale Italian place: nice, dignified, quietly comfortable. Nobody’s trying to push the envelope either with respect to cuisine OR ambiance. And, you’re like us, that’s just dandy.
As we were making our way to the door, we casually mentioned that we intended to call an Uber to take us to a locally famous gelato joint. They INSISTED on having us driven to this establishment in their own shuttle bus. (They offer dessert so the gelato place is, in actuality, a quasi-competitor of theirs). The polite, college-age driver then drove us on to our hotel. This is an example of old-school class.
We had a memorable meal in a quiet, comfortable setting at a reasonable price. What’s not to like?
We’re going to be back in Baltimore again soon and we’ll be returning to La Scala.
My husband and I have dined at LaScala on many occasions and are always very pleased with our experience. The servers are among the best, the food is amazing and I love that Chef Nino comes out into the restaurant and greets the guests. We love the atmosphere and enjoying an after dinner cocktail at the bar. The valet parking is very convenient as well. We highly recommend taking a trip to LaScala.
Food was great, and the service was excellent. Fantastic atmosphere.
Great place to have an amazing Italian dinner, service was great and we would recommend this place for a date night.
Had the chicken and shrimp special which was outstanding. Service impeccable! Homemade hazelnut cannoli was perfect. Highly recommend.
Excellent food and service.
One of the best Italian restaurants I have eaten at in the last 10 years and I have been to a lot of them!! Fresh Pasta that was too good to be true but was, honest to goodness HOME-MADE Canolis that were heavenly. Not a bad meal in our group!!!
We met my daughter and her husband there for a family get together. They have not been to Little Italy for several years and never been to La Scala and were excited to visit the restaurant with a Bocce Ball court. To say they were impressed would be the understatement of the year. We all raved about the food and delicious sauces the were prepared in, and the menu specials suggested by our waiter, who is very informed and helpful. My wife and I debated about the right Pinot Grigio wine and he settled the discussion with "if she likes it, you'll like it, end of discussion. OK?". Very Italian. We all enjoyed his demeanor and hospitality. The new video screens and pictures was very impressive and reminded us of our trips to Italy and Sicily. A very nice touch as is the Chef greeting us and actually serving our appetizer. My daughter and her husband said they will make this their favorite go to dinning spot in Little Italy for all future visits to Baltimore. He has ownership, investor interests in three (3) restaurants in the Washington DC area, so to impress him, is saying a lot.
Wonderful dinner followed by a competitive game of bocce with our teenagers after. Voted a favorite by all. We will definitely be back.
This has always been one of our favorite restaurants when we visit Baltimore. So, a couple of things did not go according expectations. First we ordered a Italian wine on the eloborate list. The waiter stated that this particular wine was not available and steered us to one comparable. We were satisfied with his choice. When we ordered the second bottle, he opened and poured a different wine. When we confronted him he just rolled his eyes. Another couple were dining with us and one of the tuna entrees was over cooked. They did send the meal back and it was quickly replaced . We just felt with two huge mistakes that the Restaurant would have either taken the wine off the receipt or given us one complimentary dessert. But, no extra effort was made. We paid our bill, but were very disappointed.
Great atmosphere, service was outstanding!
Everything was great except the food. Both our meals were swimming in sauce and were just ok. I’ve had better calamari for half the price at a sports bar.
We found this place a few months ago when we were in town for a mini getaway. We came for another little getaway and to celebrate our anniversary. It certainly did not disappoint. Nino is awesome and made sure to great us and ask if we enjoyed our dinner. Of course we did. I highly recommend La Scala to anyone visiting this area. We will make this a regular stop when we come to town.
Went for my girlfriend's birthday, just the two of us. They placed us in a nice romantic spot to ourselves and were very attentive to us, even though we were a little out of the way. Perfect dinner!
Antonio was our waiter. He was fantastic Wine selection was excellent. Will definitely come back
Waitstaff and ambience continue to be outstanding. Was very disappointed that cocktail sauce remained watery and tasteless. Apparently the restaurant doesn't read Open Table suggestions.
Best Italian meal! Great cocktails (lemon drop and Manhattan), great straatccia soup and grilled ceasar, great gnocchi (try half cream and half marinara) and perfectly tender saltimbocca with very good cognac sauce. The service was excellent and helpful. Can't wait to go back and recommend to our friends.
Outstanding overall. Our waiter tended to rush us when we wanted to have a relaxing meal. Loved the video show. Enjoyed talking with the owner. A definite "must" in Little Italy dining.
