The Neighbourhood Menu was great value at €23 for 3 courses. Great quality food with very friendly service. I’d definitely recommend it as a Neighbourhood gem for anyone living in near or around Milltown and south Dublin
Visited Ember last Friday for the first time and we will definitely go again. We had the early bird and it was good value and the food was delicious. The restaurant has a lovely interior . The staff were on the ball and very attentive.
It was a wonderful experience and the food was delicious! Staff very friendly as well.
I'd give this restaurant a 4 star review, a few little things to make it outstanding. The service is good, very relaxed and the staff are lovely. The ambience is very good but it needs a few more customers to lift it a bit. I am very surprised that it wasn't busier, this is a lovely spot with really excellent quality food and at reasonable prices.
We had brunch - eggs Benedict which I can highly recommend. The portions were a good size and good value at just €14 each. A good choice for a leisurely brunch.
We enjoy that we have a very good restaurant locally , have never not good a table when booked the day before or on the day mid week. Lovely friendly staff and great food at affordable prices.
Everything was very well thought out and the individual flavours were delicious. We especially enjoyed our oxtail tortellini with prawns. We wish the portion of that dish was bigger - it was that tasty.
Our mains were generous and full of flavour. Our shared panacotta dessert took a bit too long to arrive, although the waitress was very attentive and aware of this fact before we even thought to bring it up. This wasn't her fault and everything was handled very thoughtfully. The service in general was exceptional.
The overall value for everything we consumed was a little steep for a neighbourhood restaurant (110 for two people and the portions were small enough) but we were late booking and want to try the early bird, which is considerably cheaper. All in all, our experience was highly memorable and we'll be coming back for an early evening visit next time!
A very stylish restaurant serving very tasty food. Staff were friendly & efficient. Would highly recommend
We loved the food here, really top quality, nice place for date-night. good service and good value
Went there for my daughter's Birthday lunch. Great food and service but could have done with more diners to create a buzzier atmosphere. Needs to let more people know in the Milltown/Ranelagh/Donnybrook area what a great place it is for lunch especially on a Friday when people are winding down from the working week. Will be back!
A great neighbourhood restaurant with excellent food and friendly, knowledgeable and caring staff. A really nice setting and good atmosphere, coupled with the beautiful dishes make for a really enjoyable dining experience.
My fish was absolutely delicious! I'll be coming back to try other items on the menu. Service was super. A rarity these days. Children's menu was pretty expensive. Not sure what the dip was with the bread but I'm not sure it was the best starter option for a kids menu.
Lovely place to have brunch with friends and family.
Excellent food and service in a beautiful brassiere style room.
Great staff great food highly recommended look forward to going back
Food and service good, restaurant temp a bit cold though, not very pleasant.
Delighted to celebrate a 21st birthday in Ember. Food as always was great but there has been a huge improvement in the quality of service. Thanks Matthew! We had a really fantastic evening
First time at Ember - food was excellent, without exception.
Lovely food, great service and a great ambience. Would definitely recommend
Very good food. Service accomplished but way too slick, with no interest it seemed in engaging in small talk with the guests. Seemed to be about service as quickly as possible and leave. Atmosphere assisted greatly by the live guitarist. Experience spoiled by seeking to pass off a very basic port (available online at €8 per bottle) as an after dinner drink and seeking to charge €9 per small glass for the privilege and served luke warm. Shame as the food is top notch.
Brunch was good the full Irish didn’t wow in any way but was tasty
A little chaotic. Fire alarm went off. Service a little disoriented. Really lovely decor. Most staff looked inexperienced. It could do with a very strong overall supervisor. A very big group who were there probably impacted. Buckets of potential.
Food and Service were excellent. Had a very pleasant meal.
We all had fish , it was all over salted and one had to be sent back.
This was disappointing as normally the food is excellent. That night the kitchen was really not on firm.
We had a very pleasant evening. The restaurant was warm and the staff were friendly and eager to meet our needs. Perhaps my choice of falafels wasn't the best one as others in the group had chosen the fish dish and were very satisfied. The stater was delicious and overall very good value as we had the early bird menu. I would appreciate a few more vegetarian options on the menu as we will return.
I ate here last weekend with my husband. The restaurant had been recommended by my in-laws, and we were eager to try it.
The place had a lovely cosy look as soon as we entered, and staff were friendly and welcome. We were seated at a table for 2 by the window. There was a slight chill or draught by the window when we arrived, so I swapped seats with my husband. The issue seem to resolve itself after a while.
The food was very impressive. Freshly baked bread and a delicious homemade pesto went down a treat, as we were both ravenous when we arrived. I had the squid risotto to start, and my husband had the scallops. We both cleared our plates. We shared the black sole (for 2) for main. This was exemplary, and we ordered a number of lovely sides to go with it. The green beans were a particular hit. My husband had the lemon meringue pie for dessert - 2 spoons!
The only slight hiccup was a fairly long delay between courses. We didn’t mind too much, as it allowed us to chat and relax, and staff apologised to us when bringing us our dishes. We’re sure this was merely a ‘teething issue’ after the Christmas break, and we will be back soon.
New Years Eve tasting menu at €65 with live band and a glass of prosecco at midnight. Fabulous night with friendly efficient staff and a chef who did an outstanding job with both the menu and delivery of excellent fare starting with the starters of smoked haddock arancini, game terrine, smoked chicken followed by squid risotto, scallops, john dory, patridge, chocolate cake and durrus cheese. What a wonderful menu....Everyone was in great form in the restaurant and a credit to the Ember team. Definitely a must for next year.
The occasion was a birthday lunch. We thought we were booking a lunch menu but it was actually brunch which was a bit of a disappointment. Food was well presented and very tasty. Excellent burgers and my 9 year old polished off the adult size fish & chips. Little mishap with a mimosa which ended up over rather than in the birthday girl. Graciously all drinks on the house. We will be back, possibly in wet gear! Genuinely pleasant and great to have a local!
Ember, is a very nice local gem. The food for my party was good not great. The service was good and the staff very friendly. Our only criticism is that the food was somewhat bland, it looked great and was well presented but was lacking in the flavors you would expect. Otherwise this is a great local restaurant that i'm happy to recommend.
Sunday Brunch - had to ask for menus, had to ask for water, had to ask for service, had to ask for water refill, had to look for service
We had a wonderful meal at Ember. The food was to die for and the ambience and space were charming. The Basque fish for two was beautifully done.
The service were excellent, if a little rushed, but very attentive, polite and chatty.
Cannot wait to go back!!
Our first visit, had seen mixed reviews but we loved it. Staff were amazing and the food was superb.
Very good service, fine food and extensive wine list - not the cheapest but well worth a visit
Great food, lovely ambiance, wry friendly and efficient staff.
Presentation of food was excellant as was the quality of food. Decor very nice including toilet facilities. Staff very pleasant.
The food was excellent, it’s such a shame they have spent so little time training the front of house. There was only one compendent waiter, and young untrained staff otherwise. I really don’t blame them, I blame management. The kitchen strives to produce creative food, but the front of house needs serious work.
I called in advance as it was a birthday, and asked for a candle to Be placed in a dessert regardless if there were no desserts ordered, it was never filtered down to the staff.
We sat at the table for 10 minuets without menus, water, and I had to light the candle on our own table.
I had to flag down a waiter to place our order..after 20 minutes.
The food was presented beautifully, and wonderful to the palette.
It’s such a shame the floor staff was lacking.....
Very nice food and good service all you need in a good restaurant .
Super brunch, great service.
Looking forward to going to Ember again.
We had a lovely evening, fab food and great service. We’ll definitely be back!
Simply super. I am planning my return trip already.
