Table & Main

We have been to Table and Main before and always loved the atmosphere and the farm to table menu. However, this time we were disappointed with the food choices. All four of us had something different from the new fall menu - and none were up to our expectations. Even the 'special' was no so special. Disappointed. Guess we'll wait until spring to try again.

The setting is quant. Nice local feeling until the larger 6 seating tables fill up drowning out all other table conversations. It was a rainy night so the outside tables were not used. I get it so we'll be back in warmer dryer weather.
The menu vs price. Nice variety on both. The wives had the vegetable plates filled with comfort food kicked up a few levels. Fried chicken was outstanding and (special) beef rib ($27) came in a distant second with more of sunday pot roast flavor. The Big Green Egg was used on our appetizer so I was hoping the Beef rib came off the BGE too, my fault should've asked.
Sadly the service was somewhat rude and inconsistant. While the ladies were ordering they elected to not take the server's recommendation. At this point the server got real short and snippy. Uncalled for. The tone went sour.
The winner of the night was the Preservation Plate appitizer. The mix of smoked meat, cheese, pickles, etc.. was over the top with flavor. Truly remarkable.
Complimentary valet service was nice and professional. After this meal dont go cheap on the valet. See yall when it gets warm!

Always enjoy Table & Main for celebrations or a simple night out. The staff is always wonderful and we feel as though we're out with friends. I LOVE the paperback books that hold the check at the end and enjoy writing comments and the date I was there. Thanks, T&M, you are the best!

It was the first time I had been to your restaurant and I was 'EXTREMELY' pleased for the entire visit. The noise level was perfect so you could hear one another talk at your table, the service was great and the food was out of this world !!! I definitely will return for other occasions.

The fried chicken was good, however the sides and vegetables were too sauced and salty. The bean salad was inedible. Not a place I would recommend .

I had heard such good reviews about Table and Main but my experience there left a lot to be desired. We went there for my birthday and we were seated in the middle of a very noisy room. My husband mentioned that we were there for my birthday and there were one or two empty corner tables with a little more privacy but we were not offered one of those. Then we ordered our food. I ordered the fried chicken. My husband had the trout. Everything looked delicious but there was a cut up menu paper with print and all under my food, touching my food. When I asked, the server said they put the paper on the dishes between the hot veggie dishes and the plate. The menu paper was not supposed to be touching the rest of the food, but it was. I was very surprised by this practice and asked the server to package up my meal. I would take it home, clean the food and maybe try to enjoy it at home. I did not want ink or an unused cut up menu on my food. I lost my appetite right then and there. Even though they were very polite, the server nor the manager never offered to replace the meal or comp the meal either. My husband had to ask for a comp on the meal. Then to make matters worse, when I got home, I reached into the bag to pull out the little boxes of food and a spider ran across the boxes. He was in the bag with the food! Needless to say the bag and all went into the trash immediately. I am sure the food was wonderful but I will never know and I will not be returning to Table and Mail any time soon.

Birthday dinner

My wife and I celebrated our anniversary here and the employees had signed a card upon our arrival, so that was a nice welcome. The meatball appetizer was excellent - nice and juicy. The fried chicken was fantastic and huge. I had plenty for lunch the next day. My wife said that her shrimp and grits were excellent as well. The chocolate chess pie was a great way to end the meal. The service was great so we were never lacking for drinks, but not overbearing either.

First visit. Great experience. We sat on the porch. Great people watching while we ate. We WILL be back soon.

First time dining at Table and Main. We had a great meal - the southern cuisine was creatively tweaked so that it was unique yet familiar. Preparation was excellent, the service was top notch, and the ambiance was perfect for our birthday celebration. We'll definitely be visiting again.

Our server, Michael, was amazing. He had great suggestions for us and was personable and attentive. The fried chicken was fabulous and was even good leftover the next day. The collards with homemade pepper sauce were some of the best I’ve ever had. The manager was great and welcoming. Great experience!

Awesome experience from start to finish. Food is top notch and so is service. We sat on the patio and had a lovely time with friends. I will highly recommend this restaurant to friends and family.

Heard of this restaurant through word of mouth. The fried chicken was great as well as the other foods. This will be a regular spot for us going forward.

Enjoy restaurant every time we go. We would like to see a more reasonably priced wine list and more offers of wine by the glass.

Our server Dalen was among the best Atlanta has to offer. The food was top notch, and the ambiance was perfectly tuned. Attention to detail is what sets this restaurant above the rest in the Roswell area and greater Atlanta area, and you'll be hard pressed to find better. The menu is entirely seasonal and staff are both knowledgeable and engaging when helping you choose a course. The course timing gave us enough time to talk, not feel rushed, but not feel like we were in limbo due to appropriate check-ins from the service team there.

Sadly, Publix is better seasoned though the quality is well considered - the experience doesn’t deliver novelty or any new spin on traditional classics or hold a candle to the New Orleans skill on a more savory favorite like shrimp and grits. Presentation does not fool the palate. Overall, we found ourselves underwhelmed and felt we overpaid despite the serious overtone and nice tablecloth.

We eat there a lot, but this trip was for Wednesday night Paleo special. VERY GOOD meal. And the new deserts are delicious.

A friend recommended we try T&M while visiting Atlanta. We were going to be late due to the hurricane and called. They said they would be happy to accommodate us an hour later. We arrived to find out it was Monday night special for fried chicken. We decided to order it and were not disappointed. We are from NY and were happy to try southern fried chicken! Yum!

We went for pre theatre. Food was very gòd portions ice sized and our server was quite good. Would not hesitate to return

Table & Main is one of our favorite restaurants. Another excellent meal, with great service at a fair value. We had the Fried Okra, Trout, Hanger Steak, Mac ‘n Cheese and shared the Chocolate Chess Pie. Could not recommend more highly. Great food in a setting where you can be comfortable in jeans. The food was ok, I ordered the fried chicken. I was told it was a staple. The breading was flakey and it was cooked well just no distinct flavor to set it apart. It tasted like the oil it was fried in. Could’ve stood to be brined. The Mac and cheese recommended by the server was slightly better than kraft. The pasta was over cooked partly because it was too small. Also too small to hold any of the cheese sauce. I couldn’t distinguish what cheese was used, American? Cheddar? Tasted more like heavy cream with a hint of cheese. The banana pudding was decent except for the brûléed banana. The sugar was slightly torched causing a bitter taste to the pudding which was unpleasant. Our server was great, the bartender was great. I would expect more from a restaurant with that few tables and a chef with a johnson and wells pedigree. Just my honest and humble opinion. Not bashing just being honest. Oh and kudos on the valet, he was wonderful and my worries about parking where quickly extinguished!

My second visit to this restaurant. And the second time I ordered the Fried Chicken. (See my first review.)
I really must order something else next time!
