Carlo's Italian Bistro

We are from New York and visit our 2 daughters often. They are currently attending Towson University.
Not being familiar with the area were always in search of good places to eat. The reviews on line were excellent and I’m glad to say so was our experience. We will be back!!

FANTASTIC! We know that Carlo has passed, but the quality of his food has held on. The veal is still fork tender and the service is still fantastic. Jenna was a wonderful waitress. We truly hope that this wonderful restaurant lives on and is appreciated for the quality it provides.

Carlo's never disappoints. The food is consistently high quality and delicious, and the menu options offer great choices. Specials add to the choices. The house salad dressing is just right.

Everything was pretty good. Wait staff hustled, but forgot to bring salads before or with entrees. Need training on pouring wine carefully without spilling & should offer a disclosure that there is a steep $10 corkage fee now that they offer their own wine & beer selection. Still listed as a byob in Internet searches. Food was tasty & prices made it a good overall value.

Another good meal at Carlo's Bistro. Salmon in Red Pepper Sauce is my favorite.

Loved they had gluten free pasta. We were seated a few minutes before our reservation.

My fiancé and I love this place. We first visited for Valentine’s Day 2018 and thoroughly enjoyed the staff, food & drinks! Everyone is always so friendly & attentive! The food is good old fashioned authentic Italian dishes. Love it! I’m a loyal customer.

We love Carlo's. Never disappoints. Bring your favorite bottle of wine or buy it there.

Very disappointed that they are changing their byob fee to $10 per bottle. Their glasses of wine are pricy. Not sure I will keep going to Carlos. And we were big fans!

We dine here often and we are always delighted with the food and service. It truly is a neighborhood gem!

The outside of the building is deceiving. Inside it has high ceilings, white table cloths and great ambience. The menu has options of seafood, chicken, of course pasta and much more. The food was tasty and service was attentive. Prices are a bit high but time will tell if they are competitive. All in all a nice Italian restaurant.

Food is terrible!

The shrimp stuffed with crab imperial was new. Absolutely delicious. The veal piccata had 3 quality pieces of veal in just the right amount of sauce. Bruschetta is a must for us and it was never better. Our favorite and must have restaurant.

Based on one dish - eggplant Parmesan - the food was boring. Not bad, but not special either. Not overpriced for the dish, but there are better choices elsewhere. Very nice ambiance though, so I'll probably go back and try something else.

The food at Carlos is always good no matter what the choice from the menu. I am fond of the specials. This is our favorite place to dine. We are saddened by the recent passing of Carlo. We were glad to find that his son is continuing with the restaurant and even came to greet us much as his father had done in the past. I recommend Carlos to all my friends and family.

Great Food, Bad Service. We Needed to ask for beverage refills. We had a group of 16. Maybe large groups are not the way to go here. Our service has been good for tables of 6 or less. 2 meals were not served until everyone else was finished with their meals. House should have comped the late meals but did not. We will stay away for a while due to the bad service.

As always, great traditional Italian food! The service is always great and the menu has all of the traditional Italian dishes prepared wonderfully! There are a lot of good Italian food restaurants in the Lutherville/Timonium/Hunt Valley area, and Carlos' has become our go-to Italian restaurant.

Italian standards are GREAT! And Carlo's has a very GENEROUS BYO policy. Perfectly fried calamari, delicious Vitello Francese!

Terrific family meal on Mother's Day. Young & notso young enjoyed fine meals.

Great atmosphere and delicious food!!

I was introduced to Carlos's by a friend a couple of years ago and been coming back ever since.

We've reviewed Carlo's Italian Bistro so many times. Rather than discuss the superlative food dishes, great service, nice ambience, reasonable pricing, etc., the major great thing we find with this wonderful Italian restaurant is consistency. Each time we order a dish we've enjoyed before, it is prepared pretty much exactly as it was the previous time. So when I get my favorite "chicken francaise" it's the same delicious sauce with the same high quality chicken.
When we order mussels (a delicious appetizer), they are perfectly prepared in the same delicious sauce. Old cliche applies here, "Try it, you'll like it".

Really good food at reasonable prices. Service was a bit inconsistent, but certainly acceptable.

This was our first time at Carlos. I have been wanting to take my family there for a couple of months now. Our appetizer was great, our food was great and I was very pleased with how they handled my one daughters gluten allergy. Plus her food was one of the best she ever had. This is not a low cost dining experience. I did have two different bottles of wine opened and I just am not fond of them charging for two opening fees. I can understand one, although I don't understand an opening fee at all. Our server was very good, but I'll say this, the general service around us was not that impressive. Just a very "relaxed" approach to things. I didn't get the feeling that we were special to them. Food was very good, but for the high amount of money, I would expect to feel a little differently than the food being great.
I am not decided on my favorite local Italian restaurant. Carlos however, is among the top two.
