Dovetail - Macon

From start to finish, this was a WONDERFUL experience! We will be back!

Had to wait for about 30 minutes after being sat to be waited on. Other than that the food was amazing!

The salt and vinegar boiled peanuts are great as was the filet and pork chop. Service was excellent.

We love Dovetail and have never had a poor experience. However, our server on this occasion needed more experienced.

We chose Dovetail to take our out-of-town guests to celebrate our daughter’s birthday, with a mimosa brunch, and l put in the special requests “notes” area, when making the reservation, that we would be there to celebrate our daughter’s birthday. There was no mention, or fanfare, or dessert offering, or even a lackluster birthday greeting from the server...nothing!! It took several attempts of trying to wave her down, too, to order a cup of coffee. She was more consumed with standing over at the bar area, drying glasses to put away, while chitchatting with her coworker! The restaurant was not busy, at all. There were open tables everywhere, so the excuse for non-attentive and lackadaisical waitressing was not evident. We’ll chose more wisely next time that we plan a celebration!

This was our first time at Dovetail. When I made the reservations I added a note that we were celebrating my fiance's birthday. They gave us a great table near the windows which look down onto Cherry St. Our waiter introduced himself and gave us a good idea if what to expect for our experience, wished my fiance a happy birthday and he made sure to explain all of the menu options to us. He said we could pace our food and drinks however we wished, and he made great recommendations based on what we liked. The drinks, the food and our waiter were all fantastic. You can taste the quality of the ingredients, and you can tell the chef takes his time crafting each dish with care and purpose. It was great hearing which local farms and regions the ingredients came from and rounded out the entire experience. Looking forward to our next meal at Dove Tail

my wife and i had the opportunity to try dovetail this weekend and what a treat it was. seated upon arriving (reservation) with no wait. server was friendly and helpful with the menu questions. food was perfectly prepared from the cocktails and appetizer to the main course to the coffee and dessert.

Had a 9 pm reservation arrived early but still had to wait 15+ min to be seated.. Other than that it was a great experience

Tasty ingredients good Shrimps good meat great choice of wines but small portions and expensive period also it is really far too loud some people were obviously drunk

My husband and I were there for our wedding anniversary. The waitress welcomed us with a happy Anniversary and they even gave us dessert on the house! The food was really good, waitress very nice and I think even the manager came over to wish us happy anniversary. Thank you for a memorable evening! We will definitely be back.

The restaurant is rustic but very nice. Love the decor. Service was prompt and very friendly. We enjoyed our entrees (Chilean sea bass and wagyu beef). The servings were small but delicious. Dessert was a little disappointing. The milk pie was just too bland. The cracked pie was better but not as great as we'd expected. This is a nice restaurant for a special occasion. A little too pricey for regular visits.

Seared scallops is an absolute must. Melts in your mouth and the flavors beautifully together. Come here every time I’m in Macon.

Service and food were equally excellent. Waiter was very knowledgeable. Emphasis on in season produce and protein options in inventive combinations. Parking readily available on street at night since insitution of parking meters. One of the best options in town and the best downtown.

This place is a hidden jewel. My wife and I went to Dovetail for Sunday Brunch on our 12th Anniversary. The service was some of the best we’ve ever had and the food was spectacular. The French toast was the best I’ve ever tasted, and the shrimp and grits are a great brunch option. Highly recommend the cheese plate for an appetizer. Dovetail also has a great whiskey/bourbon selection, and makes an Old Fashioned by the original recipe.

Always great. Crying kid next to us but it was brunch so cant complain too much. Great service and drink pairings. My favorite way to eat is a solo dinner at the bar with a drink. Easy to meet new folks there.

Great dinner at Dovetail. Some favorites from the menu as well as new dishes. Love the latest version of the farm salad. Small plates of scallops and beef were great.

I am a huge fan of Dovetail. I have nothing but great things to say about the staff, service, food quality etc. However, I think its time to change up the brunch menu a little. We come often and it needs a fresh look. I will still come back for dinner and will always recommend it.

A great place to eat when you are in Macon, innovative and fresh dishes and drinks. You can't go wrong with any item on the menu. I wish they were open for lunch as we live 100+ miles away and it is difficult to visit at dinner time.
