Great bottle of Pinot noir reasonably priced. Excellent appetizer suggested by our server - shrimp with fried grit cake- spicy and delicious! Shot ribs were good, needed a little salt. Date had duck. It was also good! We’ll be back!
My husband stand and I love this restaurant. Never a bad meal. Great atmosphere. Highly recommend for all.
This was our first visit and we were impressed. My husband ordered the grouper and I ordered the duck! Absolutely wonderful! Our server was knowledgeable and had great recommendations. Our drinks were great and the dessert (the whiskey cake) was superb. We will definitely be back.
Setting is beautiful (indoor or outdoor), staff is SO friendly and helpful and attentive, the food is AMAZING - just absolutely amazing, and the drinks are wonderful as well! This is by far our favorite restaurant!
Food was very delicious
Possibly give a little more food on the plate
Catfish Louisiane and Shrimp and Grits were fantastic! Wonderful atmosphere for a date night!
We’ve Never had a bad meal at Sheehan’s! It is great!
Went to Sheehans for the Fish and Chips...Now $17.00. From the last visit several months ago my portion of fish was cut in half! Could not have been more disappointed. I guess it's Bone Fish Grill from here on. They do a GREAT Fish and Chips and I think it's even cheaper. So sorry Sheehans took this route!!
Food was delicious, especially Green Jacket salad! Entree was also delicious. Bread should be offered. We got no bread. Dessert was also delicious.
Wife’s birthday.
Service was fantastic, they keep menu quaint, not quiet due to noise echoes but never bothers us regardless. Bar service good and prices comparable to others in area.
The food was excellent. Their service is top notch. The only drawback was the crowding of tables which made the noise level high and it was difficult to have a conversation.
We continue to enjoy the food at this restaurant. We plan to go again soon.
It was crowded on a Thursday night, which means that lots of people are enjoying it, too.
Several large groups there, so obviously a good place for get togethers.
This was our first time at Sheehan's. We got there early and were sat in a room seperate from the bar area which was quaint and quiet. Our server was personable and fairly attentive although she did not return to ask us how we liked our meal till we were well into it. Fortunately the food was very good. I had the flounder au graten which had a nice piece of fried flounder, shrimp, scallops and craw fish in a cheese wine sauce. My wife had the surf and turf, a 5 oz. filet with 5 flash fried shrimp. Again very good. Each dish was service with asparagus and mashed potatoes and my wife's meal also came with 2 fried onion rings. We also started with the grit cake that came with shrimp and andui sausage in a tasty gravy. All in all a very nice dinner for a reasonable price. We very much enjoyed our experience and would surely go back when we're back in the area.
We thoroughly enjoyed our date night here. The atmosphere was cozy in the upstairs dining room and the wine and Alcohol list was impressive for all tastes.
We started with the Grit Cakes with shrimp on top and they were outstanding. We could have finished a few plates of those. I later got the Grilled Salmon and she had the Fish and Chips.
The service was great, however the reason for the 4 stars was the time waiting for the food. We waiting approximately 45-50 mins after placing order for our food. The place was a little crowded, but we were anxiously waiting our plates.
That would be the only complaint we have. We will be back. Great spot for a romantic date night.
The best part of our dining experience was the interaction with our server. She was very helpful and a delight to be with.
The food and service are both excellent. Everything was cooked to perfection and our waitress Colleen was spot on with service. Very cozy and enjoyable place to have dinner and/or drinks.
Hadn't been to Sheehans for a while, it was always top class. Very disappointed in the service this time round, felt like an inconvenience to ask for water with our meal. I had the duck which I always get there as it's usually fantastic. This time, over cooked to the point of burnt, grits had hardly any cheese in them and they forgot to put the veg on the plate. Nearly finished my meal before they brought the veg out. Disappointing night, can only assume the owner was either away or at his other restaurant. Not the quality had come to expect from previous visits.
Great meal! Enjoyed the evening!
We dine at Sheehan's about every 3-4 weeks, as a couple or with friends. Always consistent, and always a fantastic evening and dining experience. Definitely one of Augusta's top restaurants, and boasts an owner whose penchant for detail makes sure it stays that way. Very good food, great and varied menu with superb specials, exceptional service, and enjoyable ambience. Small cozy restaurant with neighborhood feel, and staff always tries very hard to take good care of everybody. Has a fiercely loyal following, and for good reason. (Equally great is the sister restaurant Beck's---same qualities.) We will continue to choose Sheehan's when we want a great meal. You'll always run into friends there, whether dining or enjoying a drink & conversation at the bar. Great spot for "occasions" but a favorite for a routine evening out for two.
Only thing that detracted from the meal was the loud table nearby that clearly believed that their conversation was of interest to everyone else on the planet.
Experience and food phenomenal as always!
Sheehans’s never lets me down! Outstanding every time! You
Sheehan’s is my go to for dining out. My favorites are the Scotch Egg and green jacket salad. Margaritas are berry good. Fresh lime juice and not too sweet. My favorite place in Augusta!
Good food and ambiance! Loved that it was small and cozy.
The food was good as usual. Menu online does not match the restaurant menu. Was told the menu on Facebook is correct. Acoustics in upstairs room are very bad. Had to practically yell in order to talk.
Nice Friday evening dinner date spot. Reservations were at 7 and the place was quiet but got louder and busier around 8:30. Service was prompt and friendly and knowledgeable. Food was quite good - had the smoked salmon appetizer, stuffed flounder which was very Rick but phenomenal and the fish&chips which was very good with homemade fries. Will definitely visit again
Service was excellent as well as the food ,very pleased with our dining experience and will definitely return.
Sheehans has been one of our favorite restaurants since moving to Augusta in 2012. It is our go to date night, especially when we can walk right after Mass at St. Mary's Saturday night. The food is predictably good...I love the scotch egg and green jacket salad.
Amazing appetizers and entrees! First time visit and we definitely will return. Best piece of salmon I have ever had. My wife loved the sword fish as well. Thank you! Table was waiting for us when we arrived.
Fun. Good food
The Rosemary Mussels are a
Early reservation. We were promptly greeted and seated per our request. Very outgoing waitress who was attentive and friendly.
Fried oysters as an appetizer were excellent with a tangy sauce served on the side. The two seasonal soft shell crabs as an entree were nicely prepared and served with brussel sprouts. Unfortunately, the same couldn't be said for the Catfish Louisiane. The toppings were flavorful, but the catfish was bland and disappointing. We have been to this restaurant before and always found the food to be good so maybe this was an anomaly.
Good food, very good value and pleasant atmosphere.
The food was outstanding! The service was attentive and polite. We really enjoyed the shrimp and grits. It was the best we’ve had in town. The fish and chips was excellent as well.
We always enjoy dinner here. The food never disappoints and service is good. Our only complaint is the lack of gluten-free dessert options and that we wish the restaurant were open for lunch and Sunday dinner! Highly recommend!
I decided on Sheehan's for my birthday dinner and it did not disappoint! The food was delicious and service was great! Love this place!
We visited Sheehan’s for the first time for St. Patrick’s Day. The food, atmosphere, staff, etc. were all very kind despite all of the people for St. Patrick’s Day. We will definitely go there again.
This was our first visit. While the Food was OUTSTANDING the service left little to be desired. First we walked in and nobody greeted us for about 3-4 minutes. Then they sat us and nobody came to wait on us until my husband flagged someone down who clearly wasn't supposed to be our Waitress. After our food was delivered she never came out to check on us at all until she brought our check.
Our meals were excellent: I had the red snapper special and my husband had the swordfish! We would definitely order these entrees again!
