Roots mission is to create delicious food from fresh, local ingredients. Vermont offers an agricultural bounty of flavorful produce, meat, dairy and other food products that are staples of the Roots menu.

Roots is committed to providing affordable meals from minimally processed, locally grown ingredients, including organic crops and humanely raised, pasture fed livestock.

We are proud to partner with local providers Boardman Hill Farm, Hathaway Farm, Woods Market, Blue Ledge Farm, and other smaller scale produce, dairy and maple syrup providers.

We sat outside for lunch on a lovely sept day. Inside seemed a bit dark and chilly for the day. Food was great. Service was great, although it was pretty quiet. Have also been for dinner before and will go again.

Jenna was our server. Nice job, remembered what my dinner partner drank. Food came up quickly and all was tasty!

My husband ordered the scallops and said they were delicious! I was delighted to see tofu with rice and vegetables on the menu, and they did not disappoint! I also splurged and ordered the Roots Coffee. Yum. Decadent!

Great food, excellent service. The staff here is very attentive to customers. They are also friendly and personable, making your visit quite enjoyable. I will definitely be back to try other menu items.

Generally very good. We were a group of 5. We had a reservation and were greeted and seated quickly. The special looked good and everyone at the table ordered the special entree (a version of steak). Two members of our party requested the steak to be cooked rare. while the rest of us ordered it cooked either medium or medium rare. All of the orders were cooked closer to medium or medium well. We had to return one meal because there was no pink on the steak at all and it couldn't be switched with any of the other plates at the table. It took some time for the meal to be replaced.

The food was okay…nothing special. We were seated near the kitchen and bathrooms, so not much ambiance. (and we had reservations). The salads weren’t very good….a huge bowl of soggy quinoa with a few kernels of corn and some spinach leaves. The salmon was tasty but overcooked. The service was fine.

I really enjoyed the food-- nice choices-- pork belly, PEI mussels- (great sauce), caesar salad (w anchovies added), crem brule All were excellent
