Dublin’s Rustic Stone by Dylan McGrath restaurant has a very simple philosophy – the best seasonal ingredients, the simplest of techniques, the most flavour. The real difference at this intriguing restaurant is its truly healthy approach to dining. Though indulgent and mouth-wateringly delicious, Rustic Stone’s menu is based around healthy, life-affirming food, good for the body and good for the soul. McGrath, a Michelin starred chef (at previous venture Mint) and Masterchef presenter but also the man behind the concept and in the kitchen, minimizes the use of sugar and cream, bans the fake and flavourless and produces a menu 90% gluten free, 90% wheat free and 70% dairy free – quite an achievement even before you taste the delectable results of his efforts. The level of detail on the Rustic Stone menu provides everything you need to make an informed dining decision and without busting the bank either.

We had such a lovely meal, great service and great food!

Very good overall but one quibble was that the service was a bit hit and miss. One thing that annoys me in a restaurant is not being able to get the waiter’s attention even if the restaurant is busy but a great dining experience as always

We had a lovely experience. Went for dinner for father's day with one yr old! Staff were very pleasant. I love the fact that they interacted with the baby! We all know that its very hard to keep a toddler settled while out for dinner, but the staff interacting with him kept him happy! Service was fast, food was amazing. Would recommend to all.

Excellent food served with the hot stone was particularly well received by our group. Service was excellent as was the ambiance. We were there early because 2/3 of our party had just flown in from the US in the morning.

Me, my three sisters and my mum went to Dublin for the weekend and had dinner here. We all had the fillet steak and we were all very pleased with it. Everything tasted great, it was a new expirience cooking the meal ourselves to our taste and we tought it was a bit strange at first but after a bit we had fun with it. The service was good and the overall expirience was great. We had to wait for our table a bit and sat at the bar and had a drink but it was worth the wait. I would recommend this place.

Food was great but:- had to wait 40 mins for table despite reservation, servers were clueless about food or wine list, toilets were filthy.

Second time to dine here and went for a midday meal. Last time was an evening meal. Standard of service and food doesn't drop. Great staff, engaging with customers, makes you feel comfortable from the get go. Could not recommend this place enough to friends. And the Dexter Rare breed, if it's on the menu, GET IT

Been here a number of times and enjoyed every time. My brother in law order the bread with dips there was so much bread and not enough dips. My sirloin steak was all fatty the stone wasn’t hot enough as it stopped cooking the steak. Wasn’t good value we all thought very disappointed for what we paid.

We recently celebrated a family birthday in the Rustic Stone - it can be hard to keep people of all ages happy when it comes to restaurants but I can strongly recommend the food and ambiance. We have a terrific evening and will be back!

Mixed review here. The waitress was very nice. Seating was prompt. It took a VERY long time for drinks to arrive. The food was heavily over salted. In fact, some was not edible. Anyway, perhaps the staff were overwhelmed as it was quite busy, but we were disappointed in this experience. Best of luck with your visit.

Our waitress was very helpful in menu recommendations! Lovely atmosphere and staff. Food was absolutely delicious! We actually had attempted to go the night before but the wait was an hour and the host graciously recommended their sister restaurant (Fade Street Social), which was really amazing too! Because he was so helpful, we made reservations for Rustic Stone the next night and it really lived up to our expectations and more.

My main Lamb Shank pasta was minus a Lamb Shank.
Now any lamb shank I've eaten has a lot of meat on it, this one looked like they had carved one side of the shank put this on my dish.
The sauce was devoid of flavour waiter was very attentive and offered to change the dish.
Went for the steak not what I wanted.
I think they should have some different items on the menu as the cook your steak on hot stone is a bit silly in this day and age.
Or a least cut the steak up for your customers.
It's the 3 rc time we have eaten here and probably the last.

Service wasn't very good. The orders were mixed up and the waiter incorrectly distributed the food(well-done burger given to a medium request). The glam burgers were chewy and had weird hard bits inside. My daughter had to leave the table, as she lost her appetite. The waiter never took drink orders when we arrived and we had to ask specifically while ordering our meals. Had a good experience on our first visit, but we were disappointed this time.

It is a shame that a good restaurant like Rustic Stone has to destroy the atmosphere by playing load music. If they didn’t there would probably be more conversations and consequently probably more drinking too.

Rustic Stone is a very nice place with amazing food and very good service. The quality if the meat is the best quality of the restaurant in my opinion, and the fact that you can prepare it as your preference on the stone is a huge plus.

The Service und Waitress was too intrusive. We were constantly asked for further requests and we thought that was too much. We had the feeling that we have to order again or pay immediately. Our conversations during the meal were interrupted again and again that was clearly too much service and caused the opposite of the good service. After all, you are a resturant with distinction.

The quality of the food is really great, the Athmosphare and the offer of the hot stone is simply a special feature.
I ordered the 250g steak with a layer of potatoes and found it a bit too monotonous and too little side dish
And I'm certainly not a person who eats a lot.

If you work at these points, I believe you will qualify for the Best Restaurant Award in Dublin in the future again

Very loud and service was slow.
We had beef on hot stone, but the stone were not hot enough for long enough.
We ordered Dexter beef which was available at order, but then were told is was not available.

The place was lovely. We had a really nice waiter. Think he was new but he was so nice. Food was good. We had starters which were great. Would have liked to have steak but i didnt really want to cook it myself so i decided to go with burger. We wanted well done. It was nice but the bottom of the burger was hard cause it was bit burnt. Aperol Spritz was the best we ever had. Really good. Overall it was good. Will come again.

I had a number of my colleagues over from the US\Europe and a few local. I was the only person who had been here before. I was really looking forward to eating here again, and you did not disappoint. It was a fantastic meal. everyone at the table thought the food was incredible. It was the quietest dinner I was ever at, because everyone was too busy eating. It was brilliant! Thank you so much for a very special evening and meal

Visited the restaurant late on a Saturday night. We all chose fish (monkfish, halibut and tuna) and we all LOVED our choices - no envying someone else's meal as, with so many options on the menu, we all found something to please.
As for sides - the truffle chips are a must!
The quality of the food was terrific and worth the money for a special night out. Will definitely go again.

The service was fantastic. Loved my starter & mains (prawn lollipops & tuna steak). Loved the whole experience of the stone. Made a bit of an event of the dinning experience. My partner had crab toast to start which gave me food envy. Special mention to the sides. I need the chips served here in my life on a regular basis. Only downside was my pudding, chocolate cake. It didn’t blow me away, but it didn’t spoil a really good evening. Will go again.

Service was very slow. We were halfway through our meal by the time our drinks order was taken. Sides ordered didn’t arrive until almost finished meal. Prices very high for quality of food. Thoroughly enjoyed this restaurant a few years ago but this time it felt dated and worn out
