Rustic Stone by Dylan McGrath
Great menu and very polite service. Drinks are a highlight
Disappointing- starter of bread was basic at best. Main course of lamb shank pasta was ok but nothing amazing. For the money it costs - not very impressed.
We were very disappointed. We have had dinner here before and really enjoyed it. This was our first time having the lunch menu and we were so disappointed. We got the breads & dips to start, the menu listed different types of breads but we just got one type of bread? Our burgers were massive and very difficult to eat(way too much rocket). The Pollenta chips were over cooked, the chocolate mouse dessert was tiny and smothered in chocolate sauce . The whole experience was very disappointing as we have eaten here before and loved it. The lunch menu is very small and not good value for money. We paid €80 for a Birthday lunch. I might come back for the dinner menu but not for the lunch menu.
Brilliant food, very quick service, friendly and so accommodating!
It’s a nice experiance I did a joy the food. However it’s over price for cooking you steak on you own ...
Food was lovely and service was really quick. Can not fault it at all
we had a wonderful time on Sat from the moment we sat down in the Bonzai bar to leaving at the end of the evening top marks all round
Excellent food very good service. Overall very enjoyable experience
Rediculously over priced. Steak was very expensive considering you have to cook it yourself, nothing is served with the steak so sides have to be ordered at an additional cost. We ordered chips and were very dissappointed to see 5 chunky wedges on skewers. Will definitely not be returning to or recommending this restaurant.
I was in Last saturday
1) was offered the wrong order
2) soup was luke warm and had to get another one
3)Steak was not seasoned
4) noise level was high
5) staff we very nice
Food was good and se was service.
Restaurant is quite shabby and could do with an overhaul. It was expensive and despite the food tasting good, I would expect a nicer, less cramped restaurant for the price paid.
Everything was top class . Really enjoyed it . Would have no problem recommending to anyone
There is a lovely atmosphere in the restaurant and the staff is very friendly and polite, but I was disappointed with the steak on stone that I’ve ordered. There was a horrible smell coming out of the meat and the steak had some herbs on it, which I did not like.
Visited on Valentine's day..really liked how they spaced out the tables..it was busy but felt like we had alot of space. Food was delicious and service was excellent
The meal was far too rushed. Nibbles and starter came at the same time. Had indigestion after it ! Disappointed
Yes i would recommend Rustic Stone, however we found it very difficult to cut our steak it was the T-Bone for two. The waiter had to bring it back to the chef to cut into bites sized pieces. Not someting I would expect to do in any restraunt.
Delicious food, exceptional staff and beautiful restaurant.
Buena carne,y bien atendido, el local está muy bien decorado, el problema es el ruido ambiente.
We were at Rustic Stone twice before and had a great experience. Last Saturday was very average - unmemorable food and service. The 2 sharing platters for starters came on one slate and was tiny...for €36. Overall disappointing...
We had a lovely time. Great service and delicious food! Recommended ❤️
Wonderful food and service but decor and furnishings could do with a makeover. Also, dreadful draught everytime the entrance door was opened
From start to finish, my experience at The Rustic Stone was wonderful. The service was first class and the menu choice was amazing. The food was a gastronomical delight. I'll definitely visit there again
Food superb! Love the pasta dishes and chocolate desert soup
I booked a table online for 10pm.
I was called at approx 5.30pm to confirm the reservation, which I did. I was advised then last orders were at 10pm. I said that isn’t acceptable as my reservation is for 10pm and we cannot order until we have arrived and looked at the menu. The hostess agreed and advised to call if we were running behind. I arrived at 10pm followed by the other guests. The front of house was on the phone and as I spoke to the waiter he cut across me and said the kitchen was closed. I made it clear I had a reservation and I was then rudely pointed to a table by the front of house. The waiters were pleasant through out except for taking dinner plates from the table before everyone was finished eating which isn’t acceptable. If there is a problem with 10pm bookings being too late for staff perhaps you shouldn’t offer this time.
Interesting experience. Service very good.
Would return again to try some more menu items. Best of luck. Joe.
Food was good service was good. Was disappointed at the menu situation. I wanted the set menu other members of our party didn’t and so we weren’t allowed it as we were told by the waiter that if one person had it the whole party had to have it.
It was very busy maybe too busy for the waiting staff but that was not their fault.
Really enjoyed the whole night, staff waiting our table were very nice and did a great. Please pass this on to them
A most memorable meal, with exemplary service. Excellent food and wines, the latter of which were slightly pricey. Acoustically 'hard' environment, could do with some attenuation by soft surfaces or an anechoic ceiling.
We would go again - the ground floor would be the location of choice.
Quick bite! 5 of us had only an hour before scheduled evening event in Dublin Hall. Managed just perfectly without rushing. Presentation was sometimes surprising and unexpected but beautiful and workable. They are definitely “trend setters” not followers. EVERY dish was very tasty and literally PIPING HOT as some are being served on a hot...stones. If you are looking for an experience that will challenge your taste pallet it is THE place. Will definitely come back but this time allow much longer... Than you! Mr Les
As always the food was amazing and the hospitality and welcome was top class
Brought clients to the restaurant and they loved it, food was great and the steak delivered on a stone was not just a novelty it was the perfect way to cook your own steak. I would definitely recommend Rustic Stone and will definitely be back.
Although we had a reservation we had a bit of a wait when we arrived but after we sat down the tasting menu was quite creative and the service very good. It was surprising there was no wine pairing with the tasting menu.
Fabulous salads. Could have kept on eating that all night
I have dined in Rustic Stone many times over the years and it was one of my favourites. It was not a great experience this time, food wise, and therefore I will be unlikely to go again any time soon. The stones went cold very quickly and the remainder of our food was lukewarm, at best.
I love all of Dylan's restaurants, Fade Street Gastro being my favourite - but Rustic is a little over-priced. €110 for two of us, at 5.30pm, 2 steaks, a bottle of house red and shared a starter - it is very expensive, food really nice but in my opinion, could be better value.
This was my first time to Rustic Stone , having heard good reviews I was hoping it would live up to the positive reviews. It was my partners birthday and they came with a lovely desert plate with happy birthday written in chocolate sauce delicious!
From the moment we arrived we were looked after by very efficient and friendly staff
The food was amazing ! As was the wine
I will certainly return !! and I won’t be waiting for a special occasion
Thank you all for making it a very memorable night
The food was outstanding, we were 6 people and I stated with reservation that one person was vegan. One of the waiters asked who it was and tried to help with the Orion's clearly NOT knowing what the difference between vegetarian and vegan is and recommended the creamy linguine.... that was quite upsetting for our guest. Other than this the food was really outstanding and the service quite attentive but not well enough informed (I ordered a ginger beer and when I ordered a second one with another waiter, the waiter stated that you don't have any ginger beer 😳).... so staff training would be handy.....
“Bites” olives -came with starter. Felt quite cramped, loads of tables very close. No “and how is your meal” from staff. Food was good quality but I’d prefer if there was some veg which would compliment the main dish was included with the dish as the “sides” available severely limited this synergy. Way too loud for me but my hearing is compromised so this may not be an issue for everyone. Overall nothing in my experience to bring me back. We arrived at 6pm and felt the whole objective was to get us out by 8, rather than concentrate on our experience.
Two visits in one weekend...lunch with bro & sis on Saturday - taste.ie voucher..€23 - 2 two course lunches - food was delicious and great value. Dinner on Sunday eve with friends from Oz - again taste.ie voucher...€70 - 2 three courses with bottle delicious wine - they were blown away by food and service...rump steak on the stone was unreal. We'll be back.
Staff were great.
Not for me. The meat was probably of a high rate but I couldn’t cut it to put it on the stone as was recommended. Might be an idea to cut it as per the advice to cook it.
Got chicken wings to start over fried and one finger bowl between 2, not nice.
Table up against a pilar so I had no elbow room.
