Four of us had a great meal. One in our party had to send back her filet- ordered medium First time too well done second time to rare. Waiter was very nice. We weren’t charged for it

My husband took me to Ruth’s Chris for my birthday dinner before we headed out to see a show. We had a reservation, were seated quickly and our server was over quickly...however the great service ended there. I am not sure what happened, but our server basically disappeared and a different waiter eventually took our order. Once our food came out no one ever came to check on us, we were never offered a drink refill (I would have loved more champagne!) and we watched as the tables on either side of us were attended to while we were ignored. Since our service was basically non-existent and we were trying to make a show, we decided to skip dessert and get the check. It took a full 30 MINUTES for the waiter to bring our check, even though we reminded him multiple times. The food was good but the money was not worth the less than mediocre overall experience.
i love the ruths chris...normally...Ive been many a times and have nothing but great experiences. So I thought Id visit this location for my anniversary and trip to nyc. Unfortunately it was the worst experience ive ever had, and it was my spouses' first time, which made it even worse because I remember how good my previous experiences were. Filet undercooked, service extremely slow(literally took 10 min to get a steak knife and drinks refilled), restroom unattended and appearance not of a nice establishment, zero sense of urgency on wait staff behalf. Hopefully it was a 1 off experience, but definitely left more to be desired.
Ruth Chris is always a go to when I’m in New York. They are a classic steak house but still have very flavorful food
Had to wait 15-20 mins to be seated. Was greeted by the wrong party name BUT the food was hot and delicious.
Top notch food & service everytime I frequent this establishment. I literally daydreamed about the delicious meal the next day. The sea bass was exquisite & the cheesecake, I would dare say is probably the best cheesecake I have ever tasted in my life. This hands down is my all time favorite restaurant thus far. I presented with a party of 8. Service was prompt & courteous.
Terrible. I am so disappointed. I’ve been to this restaurant before so went again but will not go in the future. They didn’t do anything special for our anniversary even though told me on the phone they would. When I asked the host, he said they were low on confetti - lame excuse. We never got free dessert. And to top it off, I get an email saying I didn’t honor my reservation. Terrible customer service.

Had a fun experience today
The service was horrible. Our waiter was hard to track down, had to ask twice about our drink order (tea) then we had flag someone down to to refill our drinks. Someone else boxed up our left overs and our waiter finally showed back up with the dessert menu after we had our to go bag. The restaurant was extremely loud so much we couldn't hear one another. The food was good though!
Food was good. Service was too quick. We were not able to enjoy our appetizer before entrees came.

After a long day touring New York and seeing the Christmas Show at Radio City, we went to Ruth's Chris and thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. The waiter was excellent and we were all pleased with the service and dinner we ordered.

It was my birthday and my husband booked a surprise dinner for 2 I had an amazing first time experience and was served by Thi who made me feel like a valued customer she is the epitome of customer service I’ll come back and definitely recommend others to come. The entire Ruth Chris staff gave us a warm welcome and made everything to perfection
great steak!!! mac and cheese was out of this world. service was so good!!! would dine here again!!
MUSIC / AMBIANCE
The music continues to be horrible and boring! Selection goes from blue grass to slow jazz to banjo to mellow 80s. No rhyme, reason, cohesion. The music selection many years ago was way better than the past few years. Goodness! At least get a basic subscription to Spotify, Apple, or whatever music service.
I have been coming to this RC location regularly for many years with family, friends, coworkers and colleagues as I’m the nearby UBS building. I have mentioned the music / ambiance issue many times to your staff at this location, but apparently their suggestions to management does not matter much.
As there are so many nearby options (OP, Capital Grille, Del Friscos, Mastro’s, etc), we will be recommending other venues for upcoming holiday, and team gatherings to other venues.

The restaurant was extremely busy and running at least 30 minutes behind on reservations. Food was mediocre at best and service was ok- nothing exceptional.
But not on thanksgiving... I heard the phrase “ it’s an hour wait regardless, doesn’t matter what your reservations say.. EVERYONE HAS RESERVATIONS “ about 30 times...
Came here on Thanksgiving alone as I had work in the area. The food was average although the sides are extremely expensive - but it is touristy so I guess that's what you get. But for the price, you could add some free vegetables... But may I make some suggestions as your management on the day was extremely lacking.
You need a better system for calling people when their table is ready, especially when you had so many people waiting as you did on this day. I'd recommend some sort of pager/beeper as many restaurants have, not having your staff walk through saying their name - some of them weren't too loud and in my 50 minute wait for my table, I noticed two tables who complained they did not hear. Also when I was finally seated (after asking twice, as first I was told it would be 10 minutes and then I when I asked again after 35 minutes was told it would be an additional 45 minutes!!) there were a lot of tables empty. I understand you have to stagger tables so you don't overwhelm the kitchen but it seems clear you need to have a better process for notifying the host stand that a table is free. I had to ask two staff members to actually check I had to wait an additional 45 minutes before they seated me on a table that was clearly ready, as were many in my section.
The staff were nice but I think it's obvious that you need to review your service process as your restaurant doesn't seem to be equipped to handle anything but smooth service. That is no slight on the staff who were clearly trying their best but something for management to consider. Appreciate all the staff who were working on their thanksgiving.

The issue was it was Thanksgiving and the volume of business had to be more than they expected as it was a madhouse. The staff was doing the best they could given the circumstances. It was not the typical Ruth’s Chris experience and was not an enjoyable one. Not so much an issue with service or the staff but the hostile environment that was created due to the volume of business and the delays it caused to the reservation system.

We arrived at 18.05 for an 18.30 booking, we finally got shown to our seats at 18.47. Our order was taken at 19.10 including drinks. The drinks finally arrived at 19.25, nearly 40 minutes after we had sat down at the table. The service really was not what I would expect when paying around 65 dollars per head. We were recommended this restaurant by two people and were hoping for a great experience but it was obvious this restaurant was putting profit over service. Quite sad as this was our first Thanksgiving day meal In NYC and we expected better. The food was OK, not great though again I think the kitchen were so overworked that the plating up was not up to their usual standard. Yes NYC is busy this time of year but we have not received poor service in other restaurants we have visited. Insult was further added by us having to wait for the bill 15 minutes after we asked for it, finally leaving about 20.50.

Although we had a 5;45 reservation, we were not seated until 6;25. It was clear that the restaurant had overbooked. There were mobs of people in the lobby waiting to be seated. I would not recommend this restaurant on Thanksgiving. The food and service, as always, was outstanding.

We went here for thanksgiving dinner. Very busy but we were seated close to our reservation time. The waiter was so kind to our granddaughter who has a gluten allergy. He gave us good information and prepared her food specially for her. Wonderful dinner

Great choice for a Thanksgiving feast. The service was great with the waiter knowing the menu inside and out plus he made very good suggestions for wine pairing. The turkey was buttery and flavorful, and considering the crowds coming in they got everyone’s meal out fast.
It was an enjoyable dining experience and I’ll be back again to try their legendary steaks.

I've been to many Ruth's Chris steak houses across the country and I have to say this was highly disappointing! Both of us had the surf and turf in the lobster was extremely overcooked, the steak was very mediocre and I actually had to send the lobster mac and cheese back because it wasn't good at all! They were extremely cordial and taking back the entree and the waiter was excellent!
Food was great, but the service was not. We had two primary waiters for Thanksgiving lunch - Percy (I believe that was his name) and Laz. Percy was ok but Laz was horrible. He displayed an obnoxious, impatient, “I don’t give a f...” demeanor. It may be the “NYC attitude” thing or perhaps he was bitter to work on a holiday, but he works in the restaurant business and customer service is key which he can improve on. I doubt I would dine at the midtown location again to avoid the negative experience but will still head to other locations in the future.

I had the Thanksgiving turkey dinner prix fixe, a great value. The turkey was moist and delicious and the gravy and dressing were nicely seasoned and tasty. With the salad, side dish and dessert, it was a substantial meal. I also enjoyed the raspberry rosemary cosmo. It was not my first Thanksgiving at Ruth's Chris and it won't be the last.

Not friendly at the reception desk. I have been many times to this restaurant, but quality, service, friendiness are not the same anymore. The restaurant is getting old and dirty. Not fresh at all!

It was our 48th wedding anniversary and we were treated like royalty.
With heart decorations on the table and a glass of champagne.
