Inspired by long days on the Gulf, late nights on the ranch and the colorful creations of our abuela, our family's Kitchen & Cantina showcases the rich foods and traditions we grew up with on both sides of the border. Nothing matches the flavor of food grilled over mesquite. Try wood-fired Texas quail swaddled in homemade tortillas, jalapeno rellanos stuffed with house-made chorizo and sizzling, family-style parrilladas - huge mixed platters of wild game and fresh vegetables, topped with pico de gallo and queso fresco - a unique spin on Houston barbeque. Our days begin roasting chilies and tomatoes, rolling fresh tortillas in our bakery and wringing every last drop of Ruby Red grapefruit for cocktails. We hand-grind our own sausage and hand-trim every ounce of meat in our butchery, then anoint it with the savory seasonings and marinades we've honed over generations. A few margaritas on our patio and you've found your new casa sweet casa.

This has become my Tex-Mex spot. The fajitas are consistently the best available in West Houston. The beef and chicken are the highest quality and the tortillas are the best I have had in Houston. We have become Friday night regulars.

The ingredients are fresh, resulting in flavorful, delicious meals. We got the make-at-your table guacamole, and the avocados were perfectly ripe. Other examples… the charro beans (side item) were smokey and incredibly tasty. The dining area is well-lit and inviting. It’s not too noisy, so you can carry on conversations with larger groups - we had six at our table. The margaritas were also fresh (i.e. didn’t take like a frozen mix). The prices were incredibly reasonable, especially given the quality of the food we were served. A couple in our party are huge fans of Mexican food, had never been to Cyclone Anaya’s, and raved about their meals. You will not be disappointed!!
