The Holcombe is owned and run by Alan and Caroline, both trained chefs who are passionate about growing food, sourcing local produce & protecting the environment.

After 30 years running successful London based catering & event companies, they decided to “escape to the country” and bought The Holcombe in November 2019, a few months before the pandemic hit! Whilst closed they took the opportunity to redecorate The Inn.

They look forward to welcoming you now they are open again.

Easily the best meal we've ever had. The wine pairings took it to the next level. Every dish was so well-thought out. All of the staff were friendly and welcoming. Would definitely go again.

Lovely Italian Restaurant with a warm and cozy dining experience. Customer service is a 10/10 as they’re very welcoming and friendly which made the dining very good. They even went above and beyond as it was my girlfriend’s birthday, so the waiters sang happy birthday to her which has made this an unforgettable experience. Many thanks to Daria for her lovely customer service. Would recommend, 10/10.

Absolutely wonderful meal with fully attentive staff and singing of happy birthday for our special occaosion. The Half Lobster was perfect and the special cod cookied in a bag with mussels and prawns got better and more compex woth flavour after each bite. Highly recommend this restaurant. The ambiance is pleasant but not over the top; hence, the price was completely reasonable and value for such quality. We would definitely return to Portofino, Bath.

A friend and I enjoyed a fabulous roast. Beef, beef cheek and pork and crackling all delicious and the pavé potato was divine! Service was great. I’ll definitely be returning.
