Set in a Grade II listed building, the Bistro offers an elegant dining experience in the heart of Cambridge city. Inside, there is comfortable banquette seating, dark wood and exposed brickwork, with original paintings by Cambridge artist Nicholas Juett. Hidden from view is further seating in a delightful garden courtyard – perfect for dining in fair weather – with covers, blankets, lighting and heating just in case.

In the daytime, it’s ideal for business lunches, meeting friends or even lunching on your own with a newspaper; in the evenings, customers flock for a romantic meals, dinner parties with friends and special occasions.

What a little gem The Oak Bistro is - the food was brilliant, the garden room was perfect. I am Cambridge born and bred and have walked and driven by this venue more times than I care to remember - went in it when it was just a pub back in the day…. What an impressive place it is now will definitely go back and recommend….

Restaurant very quiet. We were first there. However slowly filled up and ambience got better. Food was outstanding! Sooo tasty and nice options, a bit different. Staff were attentive but not hovering. Would definitely go back!

We go to the Dumpling Tree for almost all our celebrations, and my 40th birthday was no different. As always, the food was delicious and plentiful, quick and fresh. The staff were attentive, kind and friendly and made us feel very welcome! They always look after us and go above and beyond. The atmosphere is not something I find in many places - it's warm and homely despite being spacious and the decor is always beautiful. I recommend this place to everyone I speak to. :)

We had a lovely evening at this historical pub. The atmosphere was calm, friendly and cosy and we enjoyed the delicious dinner amazingly cooked! Very friendly and polite staff and we will surely return soon because in 2 weeks they change the menu and I'm very keen to try their tenderloin pork squash linguine with fried sage! 😀 Last evening we had a absolutely amazing lamb! 🥂and the cheesecake and tiramisu was fantastic! 😋

Really enjoyed our lunch today, the Sunday roast dinners are a real treat for us. Roast potatoes and the Yorkshire pudding were highlights and there’s always a good amount of meat and plenty of gravy. Service was excellent and a really nice atmosphere.
