Riccardo was born in Florence, Italy and grew up in Boston, MA. Marybeth, a Sioux Falls native, ventured to the east coast as a nanny and then nursing school in Somerville, MA. The two met, fell in love, and became engaged on Martha’s Vineyard island. Moving back to Sioux Falls in 1999 and working at several area restaurants, they opened R Wine Bar in 2018. As owners of R Wine Bar, Riccardo and Marybeth are passionate about one thing: people. They believe that people don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care. With a curated wine list, local craft beer on tap, and beautifully executed menu, Riccardo and Marybeth are thrilled to bring R Wine Bar & Kitchen to the East Bank of Downtown Sioux Falls along with their General Manager Jane Allen, Assistant Manager Bailey Bernal, Executive Chef Cesar Vivas, and Sous Chef Carlos Chanquin.

With an environment that blends architectural and familial history with modern Tuscany styles, the warmth and welcome is as tangible as the delicious scents floating from the kitchen. Nonna's Kitchen is a multiple award winning and locally owned establishment operated by Tobias Steeves and his siblings. After taking over the the original owners in 2021 they have sought to elevate the experience even further by adding a full bar and focusing on quality handmade dishes and superb service. Tobias is also a world class bartender and mixologist who has placed nationally in numerous mixology competitions and personally curates our cocktail menus and spirits lists. When you stop in, you'll likely see a few of the family working in the restaurant (6 of the 8 kids in the family work here and keep Nonna's running well), and this is what Nonna's Kitchen is really about - when you dine with us, you are dining with family and friends!

Everything was great from the time we entered until we left. The service was fantastic and the food was amazing. Loved the before dinner bread and dips - we also got bruschetta as an appetizer and it was great! Our meals were fantastic . . . plenty for 2 meals for sure. We took cannolis home for dessert for later. Great wine list! We'd definitely come back for dinner and would love to have time to visit the cocktail lounge.

This space was nice, we all commented how much we liked it. Everyone was friendly and outgoing. Our food was very tasty and we would all eat there again when in Rapid City.

I had been to Dakota steakhouse before several years ago and wasn’t impressed. However, this dinner was out of this world. The elk occo busso was unimaginably good. Service was great, ice cream was great, we will definitely be coming back.

Wonderful service, amazing wine (they decanted for us). The food was superb. I’ve never tried the Salmon Picata because one never knows about the risotto, but it was fantastic!
