Sale e Pepe of Knightsbridge is a London institution welcoming generations of guests and lovers of traditional Italian food, ranging from British to Hollywood royalty, politicians, writers, singers, theatre goers, shoppers and residents alike with great atmosphere, familiar faces and classic Italian hospitality.

Located next to Sloane Street, one of London's most exclusive fashion shopping streets, we are a two minute walk from Harrods and Harvey Nichols in Knightsbridge.

The restaurant started service out of two shop fronts on Pavilion Road in 1974, and in 1985 it was extended further to create a bar providing the perfect location for pre and after dinner drinks.

Join us at Sale e Pepe Knightsbridge for an intimate evening with Fontodi, one of Chianti Classico’s most distinguished estates. Hosted by Giovanni Manetti, Owner & Winemaker of Fontodi, alongside Michele Orbolato, Head of Wine & Sake at Thesleff Group, the evening offers a rare opportunity to discover the estate through the eyes of the family behind it. Set in the heart of Chianti Classico, Fontodi has been shaped by its Tuscan landscape and a philosophy centred on expressing the character of its vineyards. Over the course of the evening, Giovanni will take guests through a selection of the estate’s wines, sharing the history, people and principles that have come to define Fontodi. Among the wines poured will be Flaccianello della Pieve, Fontodi’s celebrated Super Tuscan. Produced from Sangiovese, the wine represents the estate’s pursuit of a more individual expression of the grape, beyond the traditional boundaries of Chianti Classico. The wines will be paired with a four-course Italian menu from Sale e Pepe, creating an evening centred around the relationship between the vineyard, the table and the traditions of Italian dining. An intimate evening of Tuscan wine, Italian cuisine and the story behind the bottle.

One of the best restaurants we have been to in London. There with friends to just relax and we’re treated amazingly. Cannot thank you the restaurant enough. And to be told we were the best table of the night was a highlight. Already plotting our next adventure.

Very bad service, the lights went out, they could not charge us, made us wait more than an hour, they let us leave without paying. It was a mess. Really a mess! I will not go back and will not recommend it.
