Sea Basin Restaurant
This time, Spiro built an upstairs dining room, where he caters private parties to up to 80 people. Throughout the last ten years, Spiro has constantly renovated and improved the interior and exterior of his establishment.
Nice linen tablecloth, service was prompt but never rushed. There were 6 of us and we all had a variety of dishes. Everyone from a 10 year old to 70's were highly pleased. We will go back soon.
Always the freshest fish and seafood. The service is always friendly and professional.
The service was good but slow. They could have used more help.
The food is very good the service was very good. Nice place the only problem I had was the booths need upgrading they are very uncomfortable. The cushions dip so you feel like your always sliding yourself from one side to the next. The tables are very comfortable and the booths in the bar area are ok. I really like the place so I go with hopes of getting a comfortable seat.
I can't recommend this restaurant. The baked clams appetizer was all bread crumbs, very little clam. The lasagna was loaded with way too much cheese. The shrimp and artichoke pasta was very disappointing. The shrimp had a coating that was sweet but pasta sauce was lemony, ugh! The wine was good.
Food had no seasoning in each entree as well as appetizer. Caesar salad was awful limp wet lettuce used.
Great food, great Early Bird menu & price! Service was super, not rushed at all.
This was my first time to Sea Basin, and we really lucked out! It Sunday night and they have a great three course diner on Sunday nights. The choices were top notch, as were the quality of the food and the price. I will be back again because I want to try out the rest of the menu!
I've been coming here for many years and the quality of the food and service are always tops. They have a broad menu selection that will satisfy most anyone's tastes and the portions are more than enough. I usually get one of their specials which vary over time, but are always good. I'm never disappointed at Sea Basin.
Wonderful food, service and good value
We had broiled shrimp . We had the same meal the week before it was great . But this week it was swimming in garlic & butter to much . The week befor it plated with out al that . Was much better week before
Restaurant was extremely hot. Ruined our birthday celebration
Everything was great. Wait staff seemed to be overwhelmed and service was a bit slow but they were all working as a team so I was ok with being patient.
Wonderful menu and friendly atmosphere
Food was as expected, very good with nice-size portions. Can always depend on Sea Basin’s food, value and service. However, the air conditioning was not working so we were warm/uncomfortable and non repairs until the next day.
I haven’t been there in years but it’s as good as it used to be! It’s a great place to eat
Never disappoints! Always fresh and great food and nice atmosphere.
I have eaten here before and the food is consitently good. The waitress was very sweet, came back to check to see if all was OK and to fill water glasses, etc. Service was excellent, we were seated promptly and served within a reasonable amount of time once we had decided what we wanted. We were not rushed at all, lunch lasted about 2 1/2 hours. I love this place, It has excellent food and service. The restaurant is clean and tidy. Would and have suggested this place to others.
Our waitress was so friendly and accommodating. I think her name was Dina. The mussels marinara were excellent! My entree was not so good. The bass was really tough and over cooked. My Martini seemed watery. The ambience was reminiscent of an old Catskills hotel restaurant. A little musty. I wouldn’t go back. Except for MAYBE the mussels marinara.
Very outdated decor. Restaurant needs to be brought into the 21st century. Food is meh. Way overpriced, mediocre food.
Sea Basin is my favorite seafood restaurant on Long Island. The food is always guaranteed to be fabulous. This tastefully decorated restaurant maintains a calming atmosphere, even when it is full to capacity. I frequently take out of town guests there and everyone has always been very satisfied. All dishes, whether fish, meat or vegetarian are the best around.
Food was excellent. Dina was a very nice and courteous waitress!
I hate to say this because I love the restaurant and our server was a sweetheart but...something was wrong with the butter. Tasted burnt or dare I say rancid causing any issue with everyone’s food. One of us only used lemon and the food was out of this world. But I’ve never experienced this. I kept thinking I smell or taste burnt marshmallows and yes it sounds insane. But we finally figured out it was the butter. I had a lobster so butter is important. The others had broiled seafood platters. Ditto the butter. It just ruined our father’s day meal though we still had a wonderful time and our server Melanie was a doll.
Had a great meal and good drinks. Will return with friends.
My favorite Restaurant when I want to relax and have a conversation with friends.
The only thing I don’t like is the name. I understand that a basin is a sea related term but it just makes me think of the other connotation of the word! Lol!
Wonderful meal and service; excellent value and variety. We will definitely return.
It was wonderful, as always.
We’ve been going to the Sea Basin for over 20 years and the service and food have always been exceptional. The place is always immaculate and just keeps getting better each time we go. I recommend the Sea Basin to everyone.
Excellent food..accomadated 10 of us..and they were very attentive
Food and service were good. Always a good choice for the value!
The only problem was that we didn’t realize it was a fixed menu, so my Mother-In-Law couldn’t get her favorite dish (& the reason she wanted to go there). But we all found something to eat & it was wonderful. The serving size was so big we even took home leftovers.
Server was slow and not attentive. Either she was new or just didn’t care about her service. No music in the back area where we were seated. Food was just ok, nothing to come back for. Then I had a $100 Amex gift card I wanted to use and the server said I could not use it. She should have asked for help. Will not be going back. Nothing to see here.
Awesome food and service! Can’t wait to go back again.
Pricey for the quality of the food, which was fine, but nothing special, although in large portions. Considering it was Mother's Day, however, and quite busy, the service was good. That said, I am not inclined to return.
The service was excellent.
It was a great dinner. From the time we walked in until the time we left.
The waiters and waitresses were hustlers and all helped each other. Our waitress Amanda was great! Everyone was very friendly.
First time that We ate dinner here. I’ve been driving past this place for years and always said we needed to stop in and eat. Finally we tried did and it was excellent. We will definitely be going back.
The hostesses were loud and yelling to each other across the restaurant. The server was in a rush andfud not answer my questions properly. Felt rusted. Food was ok.
Went for LI Restsurant Week
Promptly seated. service was very good.
Thought the entrees would be cut back.
Pleasantly surprised by the generous size of the portions. Lobster tail and strip steak were perfectly prepared.
Will visit again.
