The Sea Basin Restaurant has been family owned and operated since 1980. When owner and chef, Hasan ("Spiro") Karachopan, opened the Sea Basin Restaurant in Rocky Point, New York, it originally served roughly 40 people. In 1984, Spiro expanded the Sea Basin and increased its serving capacity to 100 people. In 1987, the Sea Basin once again underwent major construction.

This time, Spiro built an upstairs dining room, where he caters private parties to up to 80 people. Throughout the last ten years, Spiro has constantly renovated and improved the interior and exterior of his establishment.

Had the Sunday special dinner which is a 3 course dinner for $35. Great selections and the food was excellent. Our waitress was a young woman from Romania who was very attentive and friendly.

The place was extremely outdated. Food and drinks were priced high but the quality was deceiving. The Presentation of food and drink was nice but the quality was poor. I asked for name brand vodka and I saw that I was given low grade vodka but charged premium price and the drink was watered down. My husbands steak looked amazing but it was overcooked and had no taste. My seafood platter was presented nicely but again overcooked and dry with no flavor. We spent over $140 for something that was not worth more than $80. We will not be back.

Seat right away. Our server was very nice and made some recommendations. My friend and I ordered the seafood proto and it was a huge dish and very tasty. My wife had the stuffed seafood platter. The stuff crabmeat shrimp was excellent as well as the stuff flounder. All in all a nice dinner out. would recommend.

We love Sea Basin and especially look forward to dining there during restaurant week. This year there were 8 people in our party and we were disappointed that the Stuffed Lobster WAS an upcharge and included in the $29.95 price, as in past years!

Horrible all around!! Couldn’t even eat the food, it was rubber! They did offer us something different but my husband and I just wanted to leave... so they charged us just for our soda!

The food was excellent & our server correctly took our orders and followed up with us to ensure all was good. Myself & a member of my party made selections from the “2 for $70” all inclusive dinner specials menu. I was disappointed to learn, after receiving the bill, that coffee and tea were not included. At $3 per cup of coffee, that added nearly an additional 9% to the cost of the meal plus tax & tip.

Food was excellent. Prices reasonable. Our server was attentive and very professional. A new server was being trained at the next table which was ridiculous. Seems to me that the training of new servers should be done by management using other staff members playing the part of customers.

Went for friends bday on New Years Eve day. Told they all served dinner day and night. No lunch specials which isn’t right. But service was great and food was good. Had stuffed flounder with rice. Drinks were very good.

Beautifully decorated for Christmas. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. The stuffed mushroom appetizer was very good. Each of us enjoyed our entrees- swordfish was very tasty with spinach and mangos , eggplant parm was very good and a large portion, baked lobster was exceptional and calamari dish was tender and delicious with so many mussels. Noise level was good unlike many new restaurants. We would definitely recommend it.

This restaurant never fails to impress. The stuffed lobster was outstanding. There are so many wonderful dishes to choose from. It was well worth the 45 minute drive to get there.

The entire experience at the restaurant was fabulous The food was outstanding and the service was excellent. The value we received during restaurant week was better then i could have expected. i will definitely be back and advise my friends to do the same.

Came during resturant week. Service was wonderful. The food was excellent. I had had the 1.5 lobster with scallop. Very good. My wife had the seafood over past. Excellent. Our friend had the lobster and orange duck. They really enjoyed it. We all had the sea salt tatufu for desert. It was out of this world. A wonderful meal.

Patient, gracious and efficient staff. We ordered off the Long Island restaurant Week menu and everything was excellent. Seafood Porto was chock full of mussels, bay scallops and calamari , along with 3-4 butterflied shrimp in a garlic wine sauce over linguine. Cesar salad was enough for 3 people, dressing a bit too tangy for my taste but still good. Fresh, warm and crispy bread to start. Desserts were great. Will return again!

Service was just okay. Water boy never came back to refill our waters. We asked our waitress for seperate bills and she forgot. Asked our waitress for dressing, for salad, on the side and she forgot.
Two of us had ordered the veal saltibocca and the meat was not tender. Another person in our party order the surf and turf medium and the filet mignon was served burnt. Not sure if we would recommend.

We love this restaurant we’ve been coming here as a family of all different ages for years. Food is always fresh and hot! Garlic bread and mussels are OUTSTANDING ! We usually take home part of our meal and get to enjoy 2x. Thanks for serving the community so well we are lucky to have you !

Nice linen tablecloth, service was prompt but never rushed. There were 6 of us and we all had a variety of dishes. Everyone from a 10 year old to 70's were highly pleased. We will go back soon.
