The space is as appetising as the menu. Situated on the third floor of the hotel, Sika's dramatic floor-to-ceiling glass walls take full advantage of the pyramidal Sugar Loaf Mountain. While on the Terrace, al fresco dining is offered all year around under retractable awnings, comfortably warmed by braziers.
Very enjoyable meal at Sika. On the occasion we were there food was very good and service as you would expect in a restaurant of this standard. In the 'left' wing of the restaurant the lighting is too harsh. Intimate tables for two have strong spotlights overhead which will drill into your eyes over the course of the evening. This is something we have raised previously and we noticed another couple trying to move table to escape the lighting. It needs to be softened.
Service was absolutely shocking. We did not get drinks which were ordered before our food order was placed until just before our main course. The initial excuse from the waitress was that our drinks had to come from the upstairs bar....which was not credible when the second round was capable of coming from the restaurant bar....the second round of drinks took an equally inordinate amount of time to arrive. Overall a very disappointing experience. We won’t be going again.
I don’t like a steak cut into 2 pieces. Duck starter was poor and bread needs to be better with oil dips. Best was desert. The vibe needs to be more relaxed and fun

Must create better atmosphere!!..perhaps new furnishings to connect with sugar loaf!!...feels like it is in a different hotel as the rest is fantastic...food is nice but overpriced for what it is...needs energy and comfort levels raised....white linen, comfortable luxury seating, and appropriate audio must be put in place!
Service was excellent.
Quality of food was poor specifically the Halibut; first time ever I’ve left fish on my plate. Was concerned about the freshness of it and the ‘fishy’ taste. Desserts were more style over substance; trying to hard to be different/look good and again sacrificing flavours.

We stayed at hotel and everything but food was excellent (nice setting, service, staff and wine selection)menu was well designed but badly executed, food was a letdown, duck breast to start was a bit under with no crispy skin, pea puree/emulsion for halibut was grey rather than green(To much heat for too long), venison was just under well-done but ordered medium... restaurant was almost full at this stage and we didn't want to complain as this would only delay everything..
There was 8 staff including managers in dining room, they were doing really good job at FOH but clearly BOH couldn't keep up..
I would give it another go as overall experience was very good.
Excellent menu, delicately executed. Outstanding presentation, delicious flavors. Notable wines (Chateau Musar for example)

My husband and I are vegetarians so we shared only two starters and main course vegetarian dishes on menu. We did enjoy them but think they were way overpriced. There was a set menu of three courses for €65 each. Probably better value but still expensive for meat eaters but not good for us. We shared one dessert which was okay.
I celebrated my engagement in the Sika Restaurant and the staff and especially the girl serving us were amazing.
Beautiful food. Good wine list. Lovely view. Excellent service and staff. A little low on atmosphere as the table are a little to close together at the window. We also felt we were too far apart at the table and had to talk loudly to hear each other.
Food is fabulous. Great choice. Portion sizes very good. Service excellent.

Service was good. Food was good with a couple of quirks. Smoked duck starter just didn't really work. Mozzarella starter used to be a lot better. Halibut and venison mains both good. Tropical fruits dessert not to everyone's taste and apart from mango i didn't see any actual fruits.

We were greeted by a number of smiling attentive staff. In fact the staff made the whole experience very enjoyable. They were very attentive, without being intrusive. Food overall was very good, and couldn't fault it. We booked an early sitting, and it was filling up considerably by 7.30 on a Friday night.
We had a fabulous meal at Sika. Can't fault it at all....delicious food, fabulous service.
Food disapointing and not hot. Very expensive and would represent value for money. Ambiance more conducive to a 3 star hotel. Staff friendly. This was the only disappointment in an otherwise very enjoyable weekend.
My husband experienced a fabulous dinner at Sika on the last evening of our trip to Ireland. Food was excellent and service over the top. Comfortable environment allowing us to enjoy the end of a great trip!
Disappointed that at 9pm there were children still in the restaurant, running around and making a lot noise. Not a good location for a couple on a night out. We decided to leave before ordering.
We had dinner in the restaurant on our first night at Powerscourt Resort, the food was amazing especially the monkfish! The staff were very professional and attentive.
Only sitting available on a Saturday night was 1845 despite there being empty tables beside us all night. Service was swift and we had to ask for a 15 min "rest" before ordering desserts. Quality of dishes was variable. We did not receive our petit fours. Had to ask for bill on more than one occasion. Was charged for 5 dinners instead of 3 on hotel check-out which was corrected when highlighted. Also had to queue for 15 mins for a table for breakfast the next morning
Very good food , some of the waiters should be trained a bit more before working with the guests !
I have been in Sika with my wife during our stay at Powerscourt Hotel. Our expectations were killed since we walked in to the place. Our concept of Hospitality and welcoming is far away from what we experienced there. A 5 stars hotel deserves a proper restaurant. Manager and waitresse at our table made the experience very bad.
Food was very good and well presented, staff were frendly and attentive. However the 3 course set menu was a bit of a surprise and should be made clear if you only want 2 course you could do that and pay €10 less, also the cost of a bottle of water at €7.50 is just shocking.
Overall we had a good experience with only small couple of minor issues.
Fabulous in every way! A perfect lunchtime spot with fantastic views. The staff are superb - high quality and well trained - wanting to go the extra mile to ensure you have everything needed for a great meal! Attentive and friendly - nothing too much trouble - absolutely faultless 👍🏻
I enjoyed a wonderful meal with my wife recently in Sika restaurant. Food was delicious with a large variety of choices . Wine list was extensive and service was superb

I love the hotel and enjoy going for a Sunday afternoon. Menu is limited & on this occasion food wasn’t great. Medium beef was served well. Sides of vegetables didn’t arrive. Service & setting is excellent
We’ve been here a few times over the years while staying at the hotel, however the last couple of times I’ve avoided it, purely because the veggie options have been so limited. It’s great to see that they’ve now added a couple of veggie dishes to the menu, and I really enjoyed my meal. The service was fantastic; and they made a fuss because it was our wedding anniversary, so it was a lovely experience.
Only fixed menu -3 courses for €55 was available. Would be nice to have option to have 2 courses. Also had to continual ask for our water to be topped up. Should not have to do this for the standard of restaurant
Thoroughly enjoyed our evening with great service and great food and wine.
One waiter Dean (young man with glasses) was visibly very nervous but did an amazing job and should be encouraged by his manager. Being a restaurant manager myself i know how nerve wrecking it can be.
Food was amazing and chocolate sphere was the highlight.
