   Food was lovely, but a little pricey for lunch. Service was extremely slow. We were given menus back to have a look at deserts, but no one came back to see if we actually wanted to order anything. I finally ended up having to go up to the host to pay our bill as no one was coming near us.

   Organic Salmon starter bland and forgettable, my meal would not be a reason to return, however the Hotel and staff were fabulous, breakfast great.

   I had lunch there with some friends on 28th Jan. Can't say how beautiful the view is, it's fantastic. But the food was not good at all. I got goat cheese salad as a starter which dressing was not suitable for that salad, they served it with balsamic sauce only!! For lunch I got the Salmon dish, it was smelling fish, cold and served only with cold kimchi and some cold salad! No starch no potato no bread! My friend got the burger, she liked it. In general food design and quality is very much like a very normal restaurant or bar, don't expect high, it's nothing close to a 5-star hotel restaurant!!!! The Desert was alright and the coffee was good quality. I would go back for tea/ coffee and the view but never for food again :)

   Was very excited to dine at the supposedly nicest restaurant on the property but the excitement dimmed as several problems arose. Problems: - pork appetizer was very spicy, but not listed as such on the menu. Would aggravate medical condition - sent back to kitchen - ordered a side salad and it was missing dressing and a main ingredient (mint). Sent back to kitchen and waitress returned and said that the kitchen ran out of mint. IMO if a restaurant runs out of ingredients it should be removed from the menu for the night, not passed on in hopes that the guests don’t realize. - it was very very quiet (2 tables), and we had to flag down staff to get their attention. The manager avoided us after we sent back the appetizer. Staff were all talking in a corner. - Manager made no gesture to compensate up for the errors. - for the quality of food and service, it is extremely expensive. In hindsight, we would’ve gone to the pub for a burger at a eighth of the cost and it would’ve been better. Saving Graces - excellent desserts. Couldn’t get my partner to share hers! - steak was perfectly cooked and seasoned - after informing them about the issue with the spice in the appetizer they were able to produce a less spicy version for us

    Myself and my other half went here for dinner. We had salmon and foi gras to start which were very tasty. Then steak & halibut for main. Fish was completely dried out & steak was tasteless & burnt. Cheapest bottle of wine €42 which is expensive. Service was good but waiters quite snooty. Wouldn't come here again.

    Fantastic breakfast, staff are extremely friendly & professional. Food was so fresh & tasty & such a beautiful layout to sit back and relax with a coffee. We where even offered take away box to help ourselves to fruit/pastry’s which was the nicest touch (and great way to get rid of some of the leftovers) Loved my visit!! Highly recommend

    The lounge for pre drinks was lovely and service very good. Service in the restaurant was a little slow. Some of the meals were a little tasteless which we mentioned to our server. We were overcharged for an extra bottle of wine.

    Had a lovely 2 night getaway with my partner this weekend, feeling the post blues now 🤣 food was quality, view and atmosphere was amazing and staff were very friendly. I couldn’t get over how stylish and fancy the restaurant itself was :) highly recommended:)

    We went to Sika for a family lunch for my husbands birthday. We had our 15 month old daughter with us and we felt very welcomed from the moment we arrived. As a parent with a toddler it’s hard to find a restaurant that you feel comfortable enough to be able to relax but in Sika we did. My daughter was walking around and the staff were so friendly to her, the kids menu was brilliant with lots of choice and it was a very relaxed atmosphere. Not once did we feel rushed or that our daughter was too loud. It was a lovely afternoon and we will be back very soon.

    After having our breakfast juice and fruit, my wife and I buttered some toast and went up to the hot counter to get our cooked breakfast. On returning to our table,we were annoyed to find our table had been cleared as the waiter inexplicably thought we had finished. We then had to wait to have the table reset.

    After reading a lot of negative reviews we were unsure what to expect inSika restaurant and very nearly cancelled. It was absolutely perfect. Food surgery and the service was very mush up to standard with a very knowledgeable wine waiter who had only been there a few months. A 1st class meal in beautiful surroundings. Well done.

    I have never experienced such disgracefully bad service. We had to ask for our starter dishes to be removed as the waiter was trying to push the main course in front of us. We asked 3 times for everything- drinks menu, cutlery, table to be cleared away. When I asked for main course cutlery only 2 settings were brought to the table despite there being 7 adults at the table. Half of our order didn’t arrive until most of the food had been eaten. After I approached the manager about this our server came to the table with a very bad attitude & questioned “is there a problem here”. When we finally did have our table cleared away the server did so beside an 18month old baby sitting in a high chair & nearly dropped cups on her head 3 times. I asked him to leave it & come back but he said “it’s fine”. Food was lovely & the setting is fabulous but they need to seriously invest in proper waiting staff without bad attitudes. We all had our food at different stages due to the poor service & getting a drink was a complete joke! When the manager finally did get involved we got our dessert as it should have been - all at the same time, without half missing & without a bad attitude!!!

    Great food, incredibly poor service. Let me caveat this review, I love this hotel and have stayed many many times and had our wedding reception there in 2011. However this is the worst I have experienced. You expect 5 star service in a 5 star hotel. We were seated at 7.45. We finally gave our order at 8.30 after numerous requests. People who arrived after us already had their starter. Staff walking past us totally oblivious. Staff cleaning tables around us while our menus lay on the table. Completely ignored. Mains arrived no spoons for sides or steak knives. Small issues but 5 start service! We had to ask for desert menus and again ask to give our order. One water refill the whole dinner. The restaurant was less than half full so no excuse there. Overall very disappointed with the service. We had dinner in the Shelbourne Hotel and Cashel Palace hotel recently and it was flawless, proper 5 star. I hope the Sika really ups it’s game. Very disappointed.

    My wife and I had dinner on a one night stay in the hotel. Food was very good and staff were very attentive despite the busy evening. They were also more than willing to let us relax between our courses. A very enjoyable meal and evening. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

    Honestly extremely dissatisfied and disappointed. With our meal and stay I was recommended by a close friend but won’t be in a rush to send anyone down there (I travelled 4 hours with my partner) for our anniversary. We ordered our meal and waited 50 minutes. Until I finally pulled someone over and mentioned we had been waiting..they then checked with the kitchen and the servers had never even put the meal through. We then had to wait another 20 minutes to get our starters. Mains can after this which We then sat for 20 minutes until someone offered us a dessert menu and finally took our plates away We waited for 20 minutes and never even got our dessert menus. We at this stage decided to just pay the bill and leave And our server didn’t even apologize Bare in mind we paid for 3 courses and only received 2. Not what we expected from a 5* resort

    Very poor service. Had better food in a Gastro Bar! Would not recommend & would definitely not go again. Not worth the money! No Manager on duty & no one was in charge to deal with or prevent issues. Waited an hour & a half between starters & mains. Not good enough for such an establishment! If your thinking of going..don't, I never leave bad reviews but have on this occasion. Staff need serious training in basic service & food was of a very poor standard.

    . The little touches and attention to detail were missing. Just a small example-other tables are offered bread but all of the staff forgot to bring bread to our table. Food was served before wine. We had to prompt for water and wine.

    This restaurant does not meet the criteria for a 5 Star rating. I had halibut which was from a frozen preformed cake. Texture and flavor were lacking. My wife had duck, which was so tough we had to ask for a replacement. The second portion was somewhat better but also not great flavor. The restaurant claims fresh mostly local food but I’m not sure this is true. We came to this restaurant because they assured me ahead of time they could meet my wife’s dietary restrictions, which include gluten and dairy allergies. They were in fact NOT prepared for this and she had to negotiate with the wait staff to find options that would work. They did not prepare anything in advance for her based on the written information I had given them and spoken about via telephone. The wait staff are quite good and helpful, if a bit disorganized. They did have excellent desert options for both of us. We also had breakfast here and the same evaluation applies: not a 5 star place. I would like to say that the Sugarloaf Lounge IS a wonderful place, and High Tea is an experience not to be missed. They were completely ready for the gluten and dairy allergy and they had made pastries in advance which were very special indeed.

    This wasn’t our first time dining at Sika but unfortunately the food wasn’t very good this time. We were really looking forward to it but were quite disappointed with the overall experience. The starters we’re both very bland and unseasoned and the mains were fine. The sides were the best part of the meal
