Diners' Choice Winners: Best Overall
Vermont's best restaurants based upon thousands of OpenTable diner reviews
The food was excellent and the service was impeccable. The menu is not large but they have something for everyone and had two specials. This was the second visit and both visits were very good. The majority of the food is local sourced. Next time I am in Vermont I will be back. MoreOpenTable Diner -
We rarely leave a restaurant without a small thought about something that could be improved. Not this time - the Reluctant Panther was simply perfect. From the host's greeting to the service to the delicious (and beautifully plated) food to the pacing of the meal (not too slow, but not too fast), it was a delightful experience. We will definitely go back. MoreOpenTable Diner -

Located in New England, Vermont is a chilly and rainy state known for maple syrup and cheese. It's also home to America’s favorite snack, Ben and Jerry’s ice cream. You'll find local farmers' markets with fresh produce, eateries that serve artisan foods and plenty of breweries and wineries everywhere you go. Vermont’s cuisine has been featured on television as a leader of the farm-to-table movement, because state residents raise, farm and locally forage much of their food to produce seasonal meals. Whether you're craving home-raised beef, freshly caught seafood or a bowl of maple syrup on snow, Vermont warmth can bring you the comforts of home.
