STK - London Ratings and Reviews
Disappointing. We booked a table for 5.45pm for a pre-theatre dinner. When we arrived at 5.30pm we were told we couldn't go straight to the table but needed to wait at the bar. Perhaps this was a way to get us to order extra drinks, as it was clear that the table was ready. Starters were pleasant - ceviches and beef tartar. My daughter wanted to order the beef tartar as a main course, but was told she couldn't. The main course fillet steaks were pretty horrible - completely overcooked and indifferent quality meat. Our waitress was pleasant and worked hard but most of serving staff looked bored and disengaged. The decor was pleasant enough and the tables were well spaced, but the overall effect was of a Russian nightclub - lots of silver, chrome, artificial flowers and purple lights. Overall, an expensive but totally forgettable meal.
It's supposed to be selling usda prime beef but the word "prime" was missing from the menu. Waiter assured me that they only sell usda prime beef so panic down, I went for 400g usda prime rib eye.
I was disappointed, the London hunt for usda prime rib eye since my skiing trip in Australia venturing into a local pub serving similar stuff that made me went back there twice, has to continue....
I'm not sure if I had "prime" at all now..
My partner and I had a wonderful meal for a birthday celebration. We have visited STK many times purely for the food quality and again it did not disappoint. We arrived 5 minutes early for our table and were seated straight away. We skipped starters and went straight for mains and sides as we knew what to expect. We had a great meal accompanied with the loud music from the DJ which is always a bonus. Would return again in a heartbeat.
We went to STK to celebrate my wife's birthday. We dine out quite regularly and were really looking forward to our night. The food and service were very good but it was very overpriced!!The tables were so tight and we had couples to each side of us.We all could hear each other's conversations. The drink was very expensive. The food was lovely but we definitely will not be back!!
Wanted to try STK as I know it's a popular place to visit due to its club vibe and choice of stakes.
The reception from staff was great and throughout the service was excellent, cannot fault it.
The food was average, the stake was cooked perfectly, though the side dishes weren't exciting. They didn't really complement the stake, mac n cheese was very dry and the buttered spinach had a tangy taste.
Overall I would recommend, but don't expect much from the side dishes, be wise when choosing - cheese truffle chips were the best of the lot.
Great food in a club like atmosphere - not too loud but a good start to the night. Didn't kick us out after the 2hr slot (was a Thursday so not too full) and great service. Food was amazing, though very rich - the sides almost count as another meal as all quite carb/cream heavy! Definitely recommend for amazing wine and steak!
From STK Meatpacking NYC, STK was never the best steakhouse, but it brought youth and sexiness to an otherwise boring, old man's ritual. It's striking modern design, bar scene and vibrant music made it the perfect spot to start your night.
But years later (especially in London) the receipe seems dated. The design could use a refresh. The staff can tone down their cool and get back to good service. And the resturant can go back to selling thick-char broiled American steaks, rather than meat that seems boiled.
First time going, definitely will be going back.
Myself and my partner enjoyed the food, service & cocktails very much.
Service was on point, waiters were charismatic and very helpful.
It was child friendly, which we didn't mind.
Restaurant caters to everyone so we felt comfortable and not out of place.
Stk really helped make the day feel special for us both.
My food was lovely, and the waiter made me feel really special on my birthday bringing out a surprise dessert which was a nice touch, and the cocktails were beautiful! However my friends steak could not even be cut into let a-loan chewable and the manager "Tino" was really rude and condescending, saying "what do you expect if you order a rare rump? The waiter told you to get a fillet" - this was shocking and not the service I expected being such a high end restaurant. If your favourite steak is a rare rump it should still be cooked to perfection and edible? The manager was not even sorry and it did ruin the experience as a whole. I also didn't like the fact my party was sat in amongst all the couples in quite frankly, the boring side of the restaurant. I expected the white booth seating and the loud funky music surrounded by other groups as I came to believe that's what the whole restaurant was like. In all honestly I had higher hopes for my 20th birthday. I would still recommend this place but it seems you can only go in large groups / order the fillet to really get the full experience!
Great vibe, very different to other restaurants though it was a nice change to normal habits, the cuts of beef were outstanding and we would definitely recommend STK to friends. For us, although price wasn't a major factor, it may be helpful for future first time visitors to be able to see menu prices online.
Steak was amazing , but desert was a let down as the chocolate fudge cake was extremely hard , we got the STK mini burgers for a starter and only got 2 which we felt was not enough as that was one each, also ordered a king prawns as a side dish priced at £14 which you only got ONE , which we felt was extremely overpriced. We have dined at the New York STK and London STK is no where near as good. Although it was a enjoyable meal and would return again.
Attended for 21st Birthday celebration. Atmosphere was great, service very good and attentive, food very good ( in particular the Wagyu mini burger starters were wicked and English fillet was superb! )
Only thing I'd mention as a downside was the price of drinks, took the edge off the evening rather, saying that prices are all listed but still found a bit lumpy. A table of 5 came to well over £600. Certainly not a cheap night out but we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, would recommend and go again. +++
Nice welcome by a French staff member. However, it only went downwards from there. Although the place was half empty we were told that our table was not ready and we should wait at the bar. Finally we were guided to the table by an arrogant hostess who only gave us a dirty look.
Luckily the food was good. Wine overpriced though. Service is everything, your hostess and some of your waiters make you feel unwelcome!
