STK - London Ratings and Reviews
Great food in a club like atmosphere - not too loud but a good start to the night. Didn't kick us out after the 2hr slot (was a Thursday so not too full) and great service. Food was amazing, though very rich - the sides almost count as another meal as all quite carb/cream heavy! Definitely recommend for amazing wine and steak!
From STK Meatpacking NYC, STK was never the best steakhouse, but it brought youth and sexiness to an otherwise boring, old man's ritual. It's striking modern design, bar scene and vibrant music made it the perfect spot to start your night.
But years later (especially in London) the receipe seems dated. The design could use a refresh. The staff can tone down their cool and get back to good service. And the resturant can go back to selling thick-char broiled American steaks, rather than meat that seems boiled.
First time going, definitely will be going back.
Myself and my partner enjoyed the food, service & cocktails very much.
Service was on point, waiters were charismatic and very helpful.
It was child friendly, which we didn't mind.
Restaurant caters to everyone so we felt comfortable and not out of place.
Stk really helped make the day feel special for us both.
My food was lovely, and the waiter made me feel really special on my birthday bringing out a surprise dessert which was a nice touch, and the cocktails were beautiful! However my friends steak could not even be cut into let a-loan chewable and the manager "Tino" was really rude and condescending, saying "what do you expect if you order a rare rump? The waiter told you to get a fillet" - this was shocking and not the service I expected being such a high end restaurant. If your favourite steak is a rare rump it should still be cooked to perfection and edible? The manager was not even sorry and it did ruin the experience as a whole. I also didn't like the fact my party was sat in amongst all the couples in quite frankly, the boring side of the restaurant. I expected the white booth seating and the loud funky music surrounded by other groups as I came to believe that's what the whole restaurant was like. In all honestly I had higher hopes for my 20th birthday. I would still recommend this place but it seems you can only go in large groups / order the fillet to really get the full experience!
Great vibe, very different to other restaurants though it was a nice change to normal habits, the cuts of beef were outstanding and we would definitely recommend STK to friends. For us, although price wasn't a major factor, it may be helpful for future first time visitors to be able to see menu prices online.
Steak was amazing , but desert was a let down as the chocolate fudge cake was extremely hard , we got the STK mini burgers for a starter and only got 2 which we felt was not enough as that was one each, also ordered a king prawns as a side dish priced at £14 which you only got ONE , which we felt was extremely overpriced. We have dined at the New York STK and London STK is no where near as good. Although it was a enjoyable meal and would return again.
Attended for 21st Birthday celebration. Atmosphere was great, service very good and attentive, food very good ( in particular the Wagyu mini burger starters were wicked and English fillet was superb! )
Only thing I'd mention as a downside was the price of drinks, took the edge off the evening rather, saying that prices are all listed but still found a bit lumpy. A table of 5 came to well over £600. Certainly not a cheap night out but we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, would recommend and go again. +++
Nice welcome by a French staff member. However, it only went downwards from there. Although the place was half empty we were told that our table was not ready and we should wait at the bar. Finally we were guided to the table by an arrogant hostess who only gave us a dirty look.
Luckily the food was good. Wine overpriced though. Service is everything, your hostess and some of your waiters make you feel unwelcome!
We came to STK before the theatre and I have to say the meal was just as memorable as the show.
The menu has a great selection and our waiter was very helpful, clearly knowing a lot about the food and recommending some excellent gluten free options for my partner.
The starters were delicious, but the steaks were exceptional, tender and perfectly cooked with tasty sides and sauces.
The staff in my experience are friendly, attentive and professional.
Price wise, while it was a bit beyond our usual range, it was definitely worth every penny.
Food was good and loved the buzzy atmosphere with DJ playing everything from Abba to Beyoncé. Service was not great. Food came out on time etc but there was no small talk with the waiters and as it was a 'treat meal' that could have added to the experience. All good apart from that.
Disappointed on arrival that they had no note of my booking on the system, considering head office did actually call me the evening before to confirm my attendance. I wasnt happy about this as it meant standing waiting for about 5 minutes til the hostess found a table, considering im pregnant and it was my birthday celebration it was disappointing. Also the 6 people who arrived at the same time as us were offered their coats to be stored in the cloakroom, however we were not offered the same service. We had to ask. Considering the restaurant isnt on the lower end of the budget scale this wasnt good service.
On a positive note the waitors were friendly and attentive. The food was really good, steaks were awesome. Best ive had. The waitor asked us once we had finished if we were celebrating a special occasion to which I said it was my birthday and 5 min later they kindly brought over some chocolate mousse with a candle inside and happy birthday written on the plate. This was a lovely suprise. Overall a great restaurant with lovely food and a nice ambience.
Me and my girlfriend went to STK for our anniversary. We were shown to our table quickly which was good and drinks orders were taken quickly also. Our waiter didn't look like he was having the time of his life to put it bluntly, he wasn't rude just disinterested. Starters were very nice and well presented, mains were cooked to perfection (venison in particular).
Lively atmosphere, music was loud but not loud enough you can't have a conversation. Meal was brilliant, service was okay but would definitely recommend and go back. Cocktails were also very nice.
With the £35 deal, we had a set menu. The food was good, but I felt it was overpriced. However, the service was very good and the staff were lovely. The restaurant has beautiful decor and a great atmosphere for a date night. Overall, we had a good night and I would recommend using the normal menu rather than the deal. I would definitely go back.
Over priced rude staff and uninterested and stood around chatting all night
My booking was 8 pm i called up to see if I could change to 7 they said sadly not they were fully booked I did think that was odd on a tue night however we stuck with 8 pm when we arrived they was only around 6 tables it was empty so that also very off putting
The cheapest steak was £29 then chips £4.50 and salads etc def was not worth £440. Bill for 5 people have been to so many better restaurants in London where you are happy to pay this money for the quality and service I was very upset as it was my sons bday def would not! Go back
We ordered the 30£ course menu and when we went there they Gold us it's not available. Mac and chese are horrible! And they try to put something in every meal and this little thing destroys the whole meal! The other guests seem to bei very fancy, rich and everything but if you looked at them exactly they are some children who spend daddy's money or safed up there money for this one evening!
