Tabard Inn is such a dear place to me. I've gone here for Valentine's Day with my partner and now our 3 year anniversary. The staff are always so kind and accommodating and thoughtful. We were given a special card and complimentary champagne for our celebration. And as always, the food was especially delicious, and the stay in the hotel was comforting and refreshing. We will definitely keep returning for special occasions.

Sat on the patio. It was delightful. We were celebrating a birthday and the waitress brought us a place of churros, right out of the oven, with a lit candle. So lovely. They were delicious, as was everyone’s lunch. Special thanks to Miriam - the absolute best!!

Cheerful, helpful service, a charming and historic setting, and a creative new menu since I was there last (before Covid!). Loved the watermelon soup with mint! Our foursome had a wonderful time celebrating a birthday. We'll be back!

Even on a very hot summer day, the Tabard Inn patio was cool and relaxing. The kale salad with peaches was extraordinary and just the right proportion. Very attentive service. I can’t wait to go back again!

The layout and decor were amazing. The food was fantastic. It seems like a hidden gem. The only issue we had was that the price point was a bit high, except for the donut.

Got Chicken and churro waffles which was not churro ish but more plain waffle with maybe some cinnamon dusted on it. However waffle and chicken were crispy … the only thing I would have asked is to put syrup on side - just my preference but otherwise it was great. The shrimp and grits were great - my friend was pleased. Donuts were just ok.

Outstanding service. I was having brunch with my nieces and the donuts were delicious, portions were excellent, and we all took leftovers home and just enjoyed the ambiance. I will be back as I thought it was a lovely setting with a nice atmosphere!

The server was great. The food quality has gone down. The breads were stale, the food was cold, potatoes tasted old with no flavor. Took 3 people there to celebrate a birthday and did not want to complain. What has happened in the kitchen to make the food plummet in quality?

Food was very good but WAY overpriced — $35 for a tiny rockfish filet. Service uninspired and abrupt. Venue is aesthetically charming as always but quality of overall dining experience is not at the level it was in prior years. Many better options out there, I will not be back.

Wonderful date night evening, with an early start so we could get a spot on the comparatively quiet patio. Servers provided good care without hovering and our server recommended the perfect French sparkling rose to complement the watermelon gazpacho and duck breast entree. Desserts - be sure to try one! Music- some of the loveliest tango music. A perfect romantic evening.

My Husband and I went to Tabard Inn for a dinner date. We sat outside on the covered patio and the dining experience was magical. We felt like we were in a secret garden. The food was wonderful. We shared the calamari and octopus for an appetizer. My Husband enjoyed the perfectly cooked duck breast, while I enjoy their special for the day (rock fish over a bed of vegetable risotto, and topped with a roasted red pepper sauce). I added the sautéed mushrooms to my dish for an earthy twist. Everything was delicious. We highly recommend this special gem of a restaurant

The service was tepid at best. The “homemade” biscuit was hard as a rock and the house made preserves were bitter and tasteless. I paid $7.00 for a strip and a half of bacon which is absurd. And while I waited for my dining guest to arrive, I was offered water and nothing else. My waitress had a wariness and trepidation that made me wonder if this is the right line of work for her.

We went on the advice of a good friend. We were celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary and the Tabard Inn did not disappoint! It started with a. Personal written card if congratulations and two glasses of champagne. We shared the buratta and the salad special both amazing! I had the special of the evening, rockfish and my husband had the steak. Both of our meals were perfectly cooked. We shared the German chocolate brownie for dessert. We could not have had a better meal or evening.

Exception experience. A much needed summer respite. Menu was just right. I’m a polenta snob, the pork belly polenta starter was amazing. I chose that for my entree and the water melon gazpacho was a perfect compliment to this evening . Thank you .

One of our favorite places in DC for drinks or dinner. It's unique and charming. The food is creative and delicious. Same goes for the drinks. And the service is always great. Comfortable without fuss.
