Taco Taco Ratings and Reviews
Very disappointing, Heard great things so was really looking forward to this. When we arrived we were told they weren't serving cocktails, which was fine until we could clearly see the barman making several cocktails while we there. The food looked impressive but unfortunately my hoisin duck tacos where close to uneatable, it was like the sauce had been over reduced and therefor all I could taste was sugar, I gave it my best shot to try and eat it but I was wincing with every mouthful. My husband had the nachos which again looked impressive but as a main course the plate was mostly nachos with very little pulled pork, the guacamole was lovely but it was covered by the nachos so hard to get at. Might give it a second shot, maybe we just chose the wrong thing, but would go as more of an afternoon bite to eat as apposed to an actual date night meal
We were seated downstairs which was very dark and had no atmosphere. Upstairs was buzzing. The food was below average. Would have appreciated a larger wine list to choose from. All the wines are on tap, no bottles available so choice is limited. The service was good.
Great little spot. Downstairs is a bit dark and more romantic. They do brighten the lights while eating so thats thoughtful! Upstairs is a bit more of a buzz. Staff were super cool. Communication needs to be a bit clearer for Gluten free options. Caused a bit of unnecessary stress for one of our party. But got sorted and food was fab. Overall,8 of us had different things from menu from monkfish to duck to burgers and shrimp. All were delicious. Cocktails were yummy too. Took quite long to make buy worth the wait!
Had been for brunch previously which was really good a but dinner was disappointing.
Food good, but service was poor, long wait between courses, staff never came to see was everything okay,or see if we needed anything else.
Overall the restaurant needs a good cleaning,we were seated by the window, the paintwork was front with food splashes, the bathroom was not clean,no cleaning rota visible, really cheap handwash on sink.
The decor is v nicely done,New York style, lovely lighting etc .food was good but really need to work on service and cleanliness,I don't think I would be back.
I thoroughly enjoyed eating at taco taco. I had the monkfish, shrimp and pulled pork tacos and they were all delicious. The service was great and the spot was very comfortable. The only complaint I have (a minor one) is there could be more napkins on the tables, as tacos can get quite messy. Overall a great place to eat.
been here two times -- fabulous fun both times!! cocktails are really well crafted though a bit pricey. food is delicious -- sweet potato fries are drizzled over with pomegranate sauce, and the hoison duck tacos are to die for. had the popcorn caramel dessert last time I was here and it was really great. even coffee is just fine.
bathrooms are clean, and there are two floors of seating (if wanted for special occasions).
atmosphere is very hip and industrial.
I got the duck hash for brunch and the portion was huge but rather it tasted very bland - pieces of duck stirred into peppery gravy with a few bits of fried potato. Coffee was average, service was good and they let us sit for an hour after we had finished our food.
Booked for 6 people, changed to 8 people, turned up with 7...none of which was an issue. Althpugh we were a group we got to order from the regular menu as opposed to the set menu which was a nice surprise. We all had a different starter & main and everyone polished theirs off. Jugs of Margarita's & jugs of Mojitos....a great way to save a few bob. We had great fun with plenty of chat. We even popped back for some hip hop later that night!
We went on a Saturday, in evening. The staff were quick to tell us that they needed the table back after hour and a half. Not a problem but a bit odd as the place looked only half full. Starters and Mains arrived quickly and were very good, as was cocktails. After that, we were pretty much forgotten about! Staff started moving tables and cleaning up around diners; no one came to check on us, to see if we wanted dessert, coffees etc. Eventually, after about 20 minutes we just got someone's attention, paid the bill and left. Very good food, nice location, but bizarre service! Hopefully a one off
Great night in Taco Taco. We all enjoyed our food & margarita jugs with a shot or two of Patron Silver.
Food is always great. Atmosphere is good. We would have liked to get back to RnB night but unfortunately it was full when we came back - maybe a band system for customers who eat there on the night could allow people to come back? Similar to Hang Dai.
Very helpful and friendly staff. However I found the food to be overpriced for what it was, and fish especially tuna was overcooked.
Also when sitting downstairs there is a strong smell from the bathrooms (which could be much improved) which is very off putting when trying to eat.
I had the duck which was tasty but came with a side of beans that didn't match with the dish and made little sense, my gf who is French Canadian had the poutine, this is not a poutine in any sense, very disappointing, cocktails were excellent but didn't arrive until well into our meal.
