The Capital Grille - Troy

The service staff were excellent as was the food and ambience.

We usually have a later lunch so at 2 pm and being a Friday it was noisier and more crowded than usual but it didn’t take away from our experience. Service by Tony was exceptional as was the food.

We had a great time. Very high class service and staff. Pricey for what you get but we were happy for the most part

Classic and consistent. Great food. Heather was very attentive even with it being so busy on New Years Eve! It's an event, a bit olde school & refined that is so appreciated.

Excellent service and delicious food!

Our annual Christmas lunch was excellent as always. Incredibly attentive waitstaff. We had a warm bread basket with their perfect temp salted butter (pet peeve: I despise hard butter) and ice cold waters in front of us within 2 minutes of being seated.
We usually all get the Lobster Bisque because it's the best we've had compared to anywhere else. This time I tried the Mushroom Bisque. It was also delicious.
The Ribeye Sandwich is the perpetual favorite of my teen sons. My Cobb Salad with Tenderloin was perfection. Be sure to try their fresh pineapple juice. It's a pleasant change plus I've never known any other restaurant that serves FRESH pineapple juice.
Our server, Tracy, seemed to appear out of nowhere every time we needed something.

The food and service was great. However when ordering a 90 dollar wine, it should have the right year as advertised. We got a 2017 for a 2015 wine that showed on the wine list. No discount either.

Always great at capital grill

We understood Christmas Eve would likely be busy and we were good with that. In fact, we like being a part of the buzz of that kind of day. Unfortunately, we were sitting next to a very large table of adults and young children, and it was loud. Some of the adults were yelling while the children were on the floor most of the time rolling around and playing. It was very chaotic and distracting.

First timer. The host, coat checker, service, and food was excellent. I had the lobster crab cakes, lobster Mac n cheese, and Chilean Sea Bass entree. I enjoyed everything except the Lemon Drop. It was too lemony for me, and I’ve had plenty before at different establishments. I will be back!

Husband Birthday

Our server was attentive and personable. Food rarely disappoints. I’d personally love to see some new menu items. Tend to order the same thing every time I go.

The day we were there they had the sewer problem which closed down the bar and had a pretty bad smell in the bar area.

Wife birthday

While my meal was mediocre the others at the table enjoyed theirs. I had the filet mignon topped with lobster tail $57. I ordered it medium rare and what I got was medium well. The size of the filets were very small medalion sized. The lobster tail was about the size of a cray fish. Definitely not a good value. I sent the steak back and I got back was two odd shaped pieces of filet mignon. One was definitely the tail end of the filet which was also overcooked. The other piece was rare but that is better than medium well. I also had the lobster mac and cheese and while good it doesn't compare to what is used to be in terms of taste and consistency. The pasta was overcooked and the cheeses didn't have the same flavor as I remember. My martini was huge and as I said the others enjoyed their meals.
I would try it again, maybe just a bad night.

Our waiter Sal was great. The food was great. The birthday package was great (I requested a "birthday package" as it was my wife's birthday). The issue that I had with Capital Grille is that I reserved a table for 8:45 and when we arrive we were told that we had to wait. I didnt understand why we needed to wait.

ok, the place was jammed and my wife and I seated in a private dining room with 4 large parties. The noise was so loud we could not hear the busser, and barely could hear the waitress. It kept building until my wife had to get up as she was starting to get a migraine. A hostess or manager asked her if things were ok and after she told them of the issue they quickly found us a much quieter table and moved us. We contrasted this experience versus previous experiences us and one of friends have had at Mortons where we/they treated very poorly and their management didn't care either.
