Very disappointing experience. Despite having a reservation, we waited 30 minutes to be seated. One appetizer was clearly forgotten, and we had to follow up on it. Another guest’s entrée arrived with mushrooms despite specifically requesting none. The $50 trout we ordered to share was an incredibly small portion, with none of the root vegetables listed on the menu. Our waiter acknowledged that the parsnips were missing but offered only an apology. While mistakes happen, what was most disappointing was the restaurant’s failure to make any effort to remedy the experience. Comping an item or offering dessert would have been a reasonable gesture given the multiple service and food issues.

Cool place. When we arrived we did have to wait 30 min for our reservation. Food was good but wasn’t super impressed. The veggies we got that were pickled were good but the tomato’s were a weird add. Would be better with carrots or cauliflower. Salad fennel was good, drinks were good. Service was just ok, got wrong drinks and right ones took forever to remake. Give it a 4/5 - prob better choice for drinks and hangout. Oh desert is good!

The menu seemed limited. We wanted to order several of the small plates. brussel sprouts, mussels, spring rolls and fries. The choices were limited. I somehow thought the spring rolls would be fresh but they weren't. As I looked over the food everything but the mussels were fried. This is the kind of food I generally avoid because they are not healthy! Here I was eating the food I really didn't want and paying a high price for it. I know Market Place uses high quality ingredients, but still I walked away disappointed. We won't be returning to Market Place.

The ambience and the food was impressive. We did have to wait about 20 minutes after our reservation time. Our waitress while personable and sweet, was overwhelmed and it took two hours from start to finish for our service. we sat with empty wine glasses for at least 10 minutes.

A wonderful first experience! Service was gracious and very accommodating. The pace of the meal was not rushed and dishes were served in a timely manner. In spite of it being a very busy night, the acoustics in the place allow you to have conversation easily without competing with music or even other diners. The food was expertly prepared and presented. We had the mussels as an appetizer (it is on the menu as a small plate and would easily be an entree’ in terms of portion size.) It is served with thinly sliced buttery toasted sourdough and was divine! A pickle appetizer was also enjoyed with wonderful pickled okra and the most incredible pickled turnips! (There was a pickled cabbage as well that we liked but didn’t love…personal preference.) I had the trout entree which was a whole trout that was presented skin side up with the head and eyes, but was filleted. (I did encounter quite a few little bones however, so had to eat it carefully.) The sauce was light but with lots of flavor that paired perfectly with the buttery trout and the crispy skin. There were apples and kohlrabi and red cabbage in the sauce on the plate as well…the apples were a surprising but perfect complement to the trout in the sauce. My husband got the grouper which was in the same sauce and had the same vegetables. An ample piece of fish, also nicely prepared. Our only disappointment of the evening was the dessert. It was an ice cream sundae that was an odd concoction of buttermilk ice cream which was tart and tasted more like a lime sorbet paired with blondie bites and homemade whipped cream with a caramel drizzle and pecans. We ate it but didn’t love the taste or texture of the ice cream. If it had been a butter pecan or even a vanilla the whole thing would have worked better, but that may have just been our preference. All in all a very pleasant experience!

A simple menu using the freshest ingredients in the most delicious way. Everything we ordered was outstanding on its own, yet elevated by the next dish.
