Mary was an outstanding hostess! I felt warmly welcomed and had the best time talking to her. The food was to die for and the ambiance was straight out of a movie. I hope to have afternoon tea at The Palm Court again soon!

So disappointing. At least hire staff who speak English; I needed subtitles to understand what either one of the servers was saying. The food was stale, utensils were missing, and had to ask for spoons. The current state of this establishment is l'ombre of what it used to be. Sad indeed...

Palm Court has dress code for guests, but doesn't have the same code for service people. Sloppy look, bad english doesn't increase an appetite.

The hostesses were amazing! Outside of that, service was terrible. At one point we felt incredibly rushed (were given to-go boxes after having our food for only 10/15 minutes) and at another our waitress disappeared for about 45 minutes to do side work (she specifically told us that she was wrapping napkins). The rest of the restaurant staff was not much better. If I were asked by friends for an afternoon tea recommendation, I would highly recommend to avoid the Plaza. Incredibly disappointed by the experience, not worth the time or money. I truly do not understand why the experience is so highly talked about.
