The Saddle Room at the Shelbourne Hotel Ratings and Reviews
This is a place you can truely relax when you are hosting an evening or treating a family member, because you can be confident things will be done correctly. Fabulous food, exceptionally friendly service and impeccable surroundings, I’m looking forward to going back already!
We enjoyed our meal and the staff were very nice but unfortunately my father got violently ill 20 minutes after eating the oysters!! So the experience was cut short. Our waiter was not particularly interested when we told him what had happened and reported that no other diners had experienced this and so it wasn't a concern for them. I understand that eating raw shellfish can be a game of roulette however once someone has had an extreme reaction I would have thought a more concerned response would have been forthcoming. The floor manager was more understanding and as a courtesy didn't charge us for my fathers meal, which to be honest seemed the least they could do.
A lovely meal served by courteous and well informed staff. Service was unobtrusive and efficient. We really appreciated the peaceful atmosphere of the dining room, particularly as we had been travelling for a few hours. We left feeling both relaxed and well fed. Thank you.
Great food and service. Well balanced choice of dishes on set dinner menu . Our group chose 4 different mains and deserts and we were all very happy with our food. We chose 2 different starters and they were very good too , so we sampled a wide choice of food from the menu. Only criticism would be that we were a group of 4 seated beside a large group and it became quite noisy at times.
One of our favourite restaurants that me and my husband adore we absolutely love it here food is amazing and service is one of a kind. Can't recommend it enough, hotel is pure elegance and you feel like your stepping back in time nostligia at its upmost. Our favourite thing to do is after dinner head to the horse shoe bar and try the amazing cocktails.
Me and 3 of my friends booked the Saddle Room for lunch on Saturday the 28th of Oct at 12.30. Afterwards we were going to the Gaiety to see a show. You are treated like a 5 start guest from the moment you walk into the Saddle Room until you leave. Best of all is the value for money. €31 for a 3 course lunch (sides are extra) and you leave the place full. The food was delicious - I had the Ox Cheek for the first time and it was mouth watering beef like I never tasted before. I will definitely be back and have already recommended the lunch menu to 3 of my friends. Thanks for everything.
No stone was left unturned by the impeccable staff at the Saddle Room. Highly recommended if you’re in and around the Dublin area or want something very special for that one off night. The staff couldn’t have done more for us. The food was on another level and everybody left extremely happy. I’m just sorry I under-tipped them by mistake. But I’ll be back.
Lovely ambience and great service did not make up for the rather unimaginative food in this restaurant. Although the food was pleasant enough, it was not really memorable or outstanding in any real way. This was a disappointment. Having said that, none of the party would have any real complaint about the food, and our lunch was, on the whole, very enjoyable. The service, in particular, was very good indeed and very pleasant, and this together with the rather lovely ambience, which is elegant and very private, and the fact that the food was pleasant, would make me want to come back to this restaurant.
Overall we had a lovely time. We were seated straight away even though we were 15 minutes early. Staff were friendly and very accommodating, they checked on us regularly to make sure we everything we needed. Our seating area was perfect and we could all have a nice chat. The food was great, a fillet steak would have been nice but I couldn't see it on the menu (I'm probably eating to much red meat these days anyway so maybe that was a good thing lol) It's a nice spot and we will be back. Thanks for everything!
